Abstract

This study aims to explain how optimal decision-making can strengthen Islamic education planning and improve the effectiveness of the national education system. This study uses a descriptive-analytical approach by collecting data through literature studies on Islamic education planning theory, strategic management principles, and national education policy. The data obtained was analysed using content analysis techniques to identify patterns of ideas, conceptual consistency, and relevance to the current educational context. The results of the study show that the effectiveness of the national education system increases when planning is data-driven, aligned with spiritual values, and involves the participation of various stakeholders. Optimising decision-making requires collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the community to ensure that Islamic education can contribute to the formation of superior and characterful individuals. This article recommends a participatory decision-making model that integrates theological, pedagogical, and sociological aspects to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of national education.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the concepts, principles, and application of evaluation in Islamic education as an important part of efforts to ensure the quality of education in line with Islamic values. This study also aims to identify the challenges of evaluation in the digital age and offer directions for developing a more adaptive and relevant evaluation model for Islamic educational institutions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data was obtained through searching and analysing various sources, such as books, scientific articles, regulations, and reports related to evaluation practices in Islamic education. The analysis was carried out by examining the suitability of theories, principles, and empirical findings to understand the patterns, weaknesses, and opportunities for evaluation development. The results of the study show that evaluation in Islamic education not only assesses cognitive aspects but also covers the affective and psychomotor domains in accordance with the holistic objectives of education. Evaluation needs to be carried out in a continuous, fair, comprehensive manner and based on spiritual values that emphasise honesty, responsibility, and accountability. This study also emphasises the importance of adaptive evaluation models in the digital age through the use of artificial intelligence and digital literacy to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and objectivity of assessment.

Abstract

Becoming a successful entrepreneur is a highly coveted achievement, as the profession offers independence, financial stability, and room for growth. However, an interesting phenomenon arises when an established entrepreneur chooses to step out of their comfort zone and enter the world of politics. This situation raises questions about the factors that drive such a career change. This study aims to examine the political motivations of the elected mayor of Sungai Penuh City and to understand the reasons that led him to leave the comfort of his previous profession to enter the political arena. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach and uses data analysis techniques according to Miles, Huberman & Saldana, which consists of 3 stages, namely data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data collection for this study was carried out in 3 in-depth interview sessions with the elected mayor of Sungai Penuh. This study found three major themes consisting of several sub-themes. The first major theme is competence, which consists of experience and skills. The second is calling, which includes social support, altruism, achievement motivation, and self-confidence. The third is self-sacrifice, which consists of resilience, values, emotional regulation, integrity, strategy, challenge, problem solving, and role conflict.

Abstract

This study aims to identify research gaps and new directions for the development of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in the context of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at the university level. Using a scientometric approach based on bibliometric analysis, this study maps the trends, citation networks, and dominant themes in PBL-IRE research from 2013 to 2023. Data were collected from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases and then analyzed using VOSviewer and Python Google Colab software to generate maps of author networks, keywords, and institutional collaborations. The data analysis techniques used include quantitative descriptive analysis to calculate the number of publications per year and citation patterns, as well as co-occurrence of keywords and citation network analysis using VOSviewer. The results show a significant increase in publication volume since 2020, with a peak in 2023, indicating growing academic attention to problem-based pedagogical innovations in Islamic education. The analysis generated five main clusters: (1) the application of PBL in IRE, (2) project-based models in PBL, (3) the integration of Islamic values and critical thinking skills, (4) collaboration among authors and institutions, and (5) research gaps at the postgraduate level. Despite the increased intensity of research, international collaboration and postgraduate-based research remain low, indicating a future research development opportunity.

Abstract

This study investigates the types and prevalence of illocutionary speech acts in the film To Catch a Killer (2023), a psychological crime thriller rich in pragmatic nuances. The research aims to identify the categories of illocutionary speech acts used by characters and determine which type dominates the film’s dialogue. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the researcher analyzed spoken utterances throughout the movie using Searle’s classification of illocutionary acts. Data were collected through systematic observation, transcription, and categorization of speech acts present in key scenes. The analysis reveals five types of illocutionary acts: assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative, with assertive acts being the most dominant (43%). These acts are crucial in conveying character intentions and advancing narrative tension. The findings contribute to pragmatic and linguistic studies by showcasing how illocutionary force is embedded within cinematic dialogue and how it reflects the psychological depth of storytelling. This study highlights the pedagogical value of film in teaching speech act theory and encourages further exploration of language in media contexts

Abstract

This study analyzes the semantic adaptation of foreign terms in Indonesian mutual fund terminology. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to examine data sourced from documents issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), mutual fund prospectuses, and investment manager websites. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of Haugen (1972) and Weinreich (1953), the study identifies four patterns of adaptation: (1) direct translation (e.g., alokasi aset [asset allocation]), (2) indirect translation (e.g., manajer investasi [investment manager]), (3) direct use of foreign terms (e.g., NAV, portfolio), and (4) semantic modification (e.g., penarikan unit [unit withdrawal] for redemption). The findings indicate that semantic adaptation plays a significant role in enriching vocabulary, reducing ambiguity, establishing terminological consistency, and supporting financial literacy. The study concludes that this process serves as a crucial strategy for bridging global concepts with local understanding, facilitating effective communication, and reinforcing the identity of the Indonesian language in the financial domain

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the experiences of working students in hybrid learning at higher education institutions by highlighting the challenges, strategies, adaptations, and their implications. The study uses an interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) qualitative approach, with participants being early-semester students who work part-time. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and diary entries, then analyzed based on the six stages of IPA with reference to communication theory, academic integration, and communication anxiety. Data analysis was conducted using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. Research results show that hybrid learning increases motivation, digital literacy, independence, and time efficiency, but also presents technical, academic, and psychological obstacles, particularly related to time management, communication anxiety, and infrastructure limitations. The success of working students is greatly influenced by individual readiness, lecturer support, social environment, and campus policies. This study concludes that hybrid learning is a relevant and adaptive learning model, but requires a targeted implementation strategy to minimize obstacles

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Blended Learning method using Chromebook-based Quizizz learning media on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in Indonesian language subjects at SDN Cilimusari. The background of this study is based on the low learning outcomes of students and the lack of variety in engaging learning media. The research uses a quantitative method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects consisted of 17 fifth-grade students. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 items that had undergone validity testing. The data were analyzed using validity tests, normality tests, and hypothesis tests. The research results show a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of the Blended Learning method based on Quizizz through Chromebook devices. The average posttest score was higher compared to the pretest, thus the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In conclusion, the implementation of the Blended Learning method using Quizizz media positively and significantly affects the improvement of students' Indonesian language learning outcomes. This learning model also enhances students' motivation, engagement, and interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to address the conventional approach to local content learning at SDI Al Aziziyah, which leads to boredom and low student participation. The Karapan Sapi tradition, a Madurese cultural tradition, holds significant educational value, but has not been presented interactively in learning. Therefore, a multisensory Smart Box Karapan Sapi media was developed using a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and questionnaires to analyze needs, the design process, and initial user responses. The results showed that the Smart Box received very positive responses from teachers and students because it was able to present cultural learning in a more engaging, contextual, and interactive manner. This media is considered to have the potential to increase cultural literacy and be an effective strategy in preserving local cultural heritage in elementary education
