Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of parenting programs on students’ learning behavior at SDIT Insan Madani Palopo City. This study employed an ex-post facto research design with a quantitative approach. The population of this study consisted of fifth- and sixth-grade teachers, parents, and students at SDIT Insan Madani Palopo City. The sampling technique used was stratified random sampling, resulting in a total sample of 198 respondents, comprising 12 teachers, 93 students, and 93 parents. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The research instruments used a Likert scale and were tested for validity and reliability, with all items proven to be valid and reliable. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 23. The results of the study indicate that parenting programs have a significant effect on students’ learning behavior. The t-test results show that the t-value of 7.298 is greater than the t-table value of 1.986, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the hypothesis is accepted. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.369 indicates that parenting programs contribute 36.9% to variations in students’ learning behavior, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that the better the implementation of parenting programs, the better the students’ learning behavior at SDIT Insan Madani Palopo City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the writing skills of Year 3 pupils at SDK Wanno Badu in constructing simple sentences. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a sample of 20 pupils. Data collection was carried out through interviews, writing tests, and documentation of the pupils’ written work. The results of the study indicate that 11 pupils, or 55%, have demonstrated a reasonably good ability to write simple sentences, particularly in the use of the basic subject–predicate structure. However, 9 pupils, or 45%, still face several challenges, including inconsistent use of capital letters, punctuation errors, and ineffective sentence structure. These findings suggest that the pupils’ writing skills have not yet developed optimally and still require targeted guidance. Overall, this study emphasises the need to improve the writing skills of Year 3 pupils at SDK Wanno Badu through continuous writing practice, teaching tailored to pupils’ potential and intelligence as outlined in Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, and the provision of immediate and consistent feedback by teachers during the writing learning process.

Abstract

The rise of social media has encouraged the use of language that is concise, informal and often grammatically incomplete, yet remains effective in conveying meaning. The viral phenomenon of the ‘Monkey Baby Punch’ serves as an interesting example of how linguistic imperfections are utilised in digital communication. This study aims to identify forms of linguistic imperfection in netizens’ comments and to analyse the pragmatic meanings contained within them. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data in the form of netizens’ comments were collected from various social media platforms using documentation techniques, then selected based on their relevance to the research focus. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, classification of linguistic forms, and interpretation of meaning using George Yule’s theory of pragmatics and H. P. Grice’s concept of conversational implicatures. The results of the study indicate that linguistic imperfections manifest in the form of incomplete sentences, the use of informal language, and emotional expressions. Although structurally imperfect, the meaning remains comprehensible due to the shared context between the speaker and the reader. Furthermore, conversational implicatures were identified, demonstrated through the fulfilment or violation of the maxims of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner.

Abstract

This study aims to examine students’ perceptions of freedom of expression in democratic classrooms and its impact on motivation and creativity in solving religious problems, whilst also exploring the role of an inclusive school environment in optimising learning outcomes. The method employed is a qualitative literature review with thematic analysis of relevant research findings. The findings indicate that students perceive freedom of expression as a safe space to express opinions, ask questions, and engage in discussion without pressure, thereby enhancing intrinsic motivation and engagement in learning. These conditions foster the development of students’ creativity in responding to religious issues in a reflective and innovative manner. Furthermore, an inclusive school environment plays a crucial role in accommodating the diversity of students’ creative potential through the appreciation of differences, the provision of spaces for developing interests, a diverse assessment system, and a collaborative social climate. In this context, students can achieve optimal learning outcomes in line with their individual capacities. These findings underscore the importance of the teacher’s role in facilitating open dialogue, as well as the need for school policies that systematically support inclusivity. Further research is recommended using an empirical approach to explore students’ subjective experiences in greater depth.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the structure of desire of the main character in the short story "Tiurmaida" by Hasan Al-Banna using Jacques Lacan's psychoanalytic theory. The analysis focuses on narcissistic desire that emerge in Tiurmaida, a loyal and strong wife. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literary psychology approach. The results of the study indicate that Tiurmaida has active and passive narcissistic desire. Active narcissistic desire is seen in her efforts to show herself as a loyal wife and a strong woman, while passive narcissistic desire is seen in her dependence on recognition from others. This study shows that human desire always has a paradoxical nature and is closely related to the social, symbolic, and psychic structures that surround it

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of gender injustice experienced by the mother and daughter characters in the film If Mother Didn't Marry Father using radical feminism studies. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. The research data consists of dialogue, scenes, and character behavior that indicate gender injustice in the film. The analysis was conducted using the theory of radical feminism proposed by Kate Millett which emphasizes criticism of the patriarchal system in social life. The results of the study show that the mother and daughter characters in the film experience various forms of gender injustice, such as subordination, marginalization, and restrictions on freedom in determining life choices. These conditions arise due to the strong influence of the patriarchal system in the family that places men as the party with greater power. Through this film, it can be seen that power relations within the family play a major role in shaping the gender injustice experienced by women. This study is expected to provide an understanding of how film media represents the issue of gender injustice in family life.

Abstract

Multicultural education in schools becomes an important milestone to shape a tolerant generation in an era of plural society. This study aims to analyze the understanding and commitment of educational stakeholders, namely teachers, school management, and the community, to implement multicultural education as a response to issues of intolerance. This study uses a qualitative approach through literature review and thematic synthesis. Data analysis is conducted through thematic analysis on all research data. This study finds that the main factors supporting the success of multicultural education are a responsive curriculum renewal, practice-based teacher training, the formation of inclusion teams, strengthening social networks, and the integration of digital media use as a learning medium. Constructive collaboration among parties within the school environment, as well as family and community involvement, has proven vital for realizing the internalization of values of tolerance and respect for differences in identity among students. These findings underline the importance of synergy across educational elements and the need for policies that are responsive and adaptive to global social and technological dynamics. This study also recommends strengthening multicultural learning innovations
