Abstract

The role of online media in shaping public perceptions of legal justice through language construction. The research problem focuses on how perpetrators of petty crimes, corruption, and narcotics are represented in the news, how discursive practices influence the construction of meaning, and how the discourse reflects power relations. The study aims to analyze the representation of criminal perpetrators and uncover the ideology at work in legal reporting in Indonesian online media, namely Kompas.com and Detik.com, through a Critical Discourse Analysis approach using Norman Fairclough's three-dimensional model. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection using listening and note-taking techniques. The results show differences in representation based on social class and type of crime. Media language tends to reproduce legal-formalistic ideology and shows symbolic inequality in the construction of justice. The conclusion of this study shows that the media not only conveys facts but also shapes certain social realities that reproduce power relations and class inequality in the Indonesian legal system.

Abstract

The provision of effective public services is an important indicator of government performance, particularly in business licensing administration. This study aims to analyze the quality of public services in the issuance of NIB at the DPMPTSP of Pacitan Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach using questionnaire data collected from 40 respondents who processed NIB services from November 7 to November 15, 2024. The sampling technique uses non-probability sampling through accidental and quota sampling methods. The data were analyzed using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) to examine the gap between perceived service performance and importance levels across five service quality dimensions: reliability, responsiveness, empathy, assurance, and tangibles. The research results indicate that the overall quality of NIB services at the DPMPTSP of Pacitan Regency is categorized as good, with an average performance score of 4.175 and an importance score of 4.725 on a five-point scale. IPA quadrant analysis shows that most indicators fall into Quadrant B, indicating that service performance meets public expectations. However, one indicator in the reliability dimension still needs improvement. These findings suggest that although the overall service quality is satisfactory, enhancing staff readiness and providing service information are necessary to improve the effectiveness of public services.

Abstract

The natural perfume industry has experienced rapid growth due to increasing consumer awareness of environmentally friendly and sustainable products. This trend requires manufacturers to select appropriate production processes and design operational systems capable of accommodating diverse natural ingredients, flexible formulation development, and consistent product quality. This study aims to analyze the application of process selection and system design in the development of a natural perfume production industry from an operations management perspective. A conceptual study approach was employed using the process–volume matrix and facility layout analysis as analytical frameworks. The results indicate that a combination of batch and job shop processes is the most suitable production method for small to medium-scale natural perfume industries, as it provides greater flexibility in product variation and formulation development. Furthermore, the implementation of a process layout combined with a cellular system can improve workflow efficiency while maintaining consistent product quality. These findings highlight that flexible and adaptive operational system design plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainable development of the natural perfume industry.

Abstract

Strengthening students’ managerial competencies has become a strategic necessity to enhance the effectiveness of student organizations and to prepare future leaders. This study aimed to analyze the impact of an experiential learning–based workshop intervention on the managerial competencies of student organization activists. A quantitative approach was employed using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 30 core student organization board members selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire measuring five managerial competency indicators: understanding of POAC (planning, organizing, actuating, controlling), organizational vision and mission, goal setting, organizational structure, and perceptions of the importance of organizational management. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results indicated an increase in the mean score from 76.67 to 90.67, with a statistically significant difference (t(29)=2.97; p=0.006) and a moderate effect size (Cohen’s d=0.54). Four indicators showed significant improvement, while one indicator declined, which was interpreted as a critical reflective process following the intervention. These findings confirm that practice-based workshops are effective in enhancing students’ managerial competencies and should be sustainably integrated into student organization development programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze decision-making strategies in the implementation of the New Student Admission (PPDB) process at SMP Negeri 57 Palembang. This research is qualitative in nature, using a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consist of the principal, the PPDB committee, and other parties involved in the PPDB implementation process. The data analysis technique is conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity is tested through source, method, and time triangulation. The results of the study indicate that decision-making strategies in the implementation of PPDB are carried out through systematic planning by considering government policies, school capacity, and actual conditions in the field. The decision-making process is implemented in a planned and data-driven manner through coordination between the principal and the PPDB committee, thereby maintaining the principles of objectivity, transparency, and accountability. However, the implementation of PPDB still faces several challenges, such as technical disruptions in the online registration system and limitations in human resources. Therefore, it is necessary to improve system management and strengthen coordination among committee members to ensure that the PPDB implementation can run more effectively and optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the development of teachers’ professional competence and creativity, as well as their contribution to improving the quality of learning. The study employs a qualitative literature review method using content analysis techniques applied to relevant scientific articles, books, and academic publications. The data were analysed by identifying key themes relating to teachers’ professional competence, creativity in teaching, and their implications for the quality of the teaching and learning process. The results of the analysis indicate that teachers’ professional competence plays a crucial role through mastery of subject matter, understanding of learners’ characteristics, the ability to design and deliver learning, classroom management, the use of technology, and the evaluation and reflection on learning. Meanwhile, teachers’ creativity contributes through the ability to deliver innovative, flexible, and contextual learning that fosters student engagement and motivation. These two dimensions complement one another and together form effective, meaningful, and enjoyable learning. These findings suggest that teachers’ professional development should not only focus on technical aspects but also on strengthening pedagogical creativity. Further research is recommended to test the relationship between these two variables through an empirical approach
