Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to introduce the role of emotional intelligence in entrepreneurship. The PKM activity partner is a recycling business owner who processes used plastic bottles into handicraft products such as decorative lamps, aquariums, flower pots, and others. The partner business is located in South Tangerang. This activity is a continuation of the previous PKM and was inspired by the partner's problems in marketing recycled products that have been processed. Based on initial observations made directly with partners, the main problem faced lies in the lack of understanding of emotional intelligence. Due to limited knowledge of emotional intelligence, the efforts made by partners have not been able to achieve optimal success. The method proposed in this activity is training or socialization conducted online with support from students as facilitators. The results of the activity showed that the implementation went smoothly. There was productive communication and discussion between the PKM team and partners. The enthusiasm of the partners can be seen in their interest in the material presented during the training.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to help business owners have knowledge about environmentally friendly marketing strategies. Given that the selected partners are engaged in the recycling business, they should be able to market products in accordance with the basic concept of partners in maintaining and preserving environmentally friendly marketing. This is very necessary in overcoming hazards to the environment, in addition to fulfilling human desires by minimizing the detrimental effects caused by the excessive use of natural resources. Partners utilize unused items, such as Aqua bottles, used cans, and others, which are then processed into products that have selling value. The partner location is in the Tangerang area. The method offered to partners is training/socialization delivered in the form of PowerPoint-based presentations (PPT). The training materials included an introduction to green marketing, production, use, and disposal processes, benefits and advantages of green marketing, and other related topics. The results of this activity show that the training runs smoothly and can optimize the ability of partners in terms of green marketing. Thus, the "handy craft" activities of the partners' recycled products can be sustained.

Abstract

Payu Putat Village, known for its fertile soil and ample land, has excelled in vegetable production, including rice, vegetables, and medicinal plants. Despite these advantages, insufficient agricultural knowledge and management have given rise to environmental challenges, such as floods, surplus harvests leading to waste, and depressed vegetable prices due to oversupply, consequently diminishing farmer incomes. To combat these issues, PT. Pertamina EP Adera Field launched the Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Agriculture program (PSRLB) in Desa Payu Putat, focusing on the Family Medicinal Plant and Organic Rice Cultivation (Bu Togar Panik) sub-unit. Bu Togar Panik's mission is to educate and support farmers in transitioning from conventional to organic farming methods, emphasizing the effective use of household waste as organic fertilizer. The program aspires to transform Desa Payu Putat into an organic agriculture hub, offering a diverse range of commodities and setting an example for other villages to harness natural and human resources for organic farming. Crops include organic rice and eight vegetable types: water spinach, long beans, basil, cherry tomatoes, purple eggplant, bird's eye chili, bok choy, and cucumbers. Additionally, nine Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) varieties, such as red ginger, pineapples, galangal, sambang, and moringa leaves, are cultivated. Launched in 2022, the program in 2023 includes activities such as organic rice cultivation training, MOL and organic pesticide preparation training, herbal basic and advanced training, facility and infrastructure procurement, group management training, and land development. Bu Togar Panik has demonstrated positive outcomes, such as organic compost and MOL production, diverse organic crops, and the formation of local farmer groups.

Abstract

The PSRLB Program in Talang Ubi Utara Village represents a commendable initiative aimed at promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture practices. This program actively engages local farmers and the community in the pursuit of organic rice cultivation. It achieves this by providing farmers with essential training and guidance in adopting the Sustainable System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method, a sustainable approach that eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers. The results of the PSRLB program's implementation have been promising. It has not only significantly increased the productivity and quality of organic rice harvests but has also mitigated negative environmental impacts associated with conventional farming practices. As such, the PSRLB program stands as a shining example, offering inspiration to other farming communities seeking to embrace sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural methods. Its success underscores the potential for agriculture to harmoniously coexist with nature while fostering healthier, more prosperous farming communities.

Abstract

Recycle Park Bank Sampah is one of the social community organizations engaged in the environmental economy, especially in managing household waste for residents of RW 05 Pinang Griya Permai, Tangerang. Currently the Recycle Park Bank Sampah Teratai has 10 administrators as waste bank managers with a total number of customers of 59 people. Its existence is now very helpful to the Tangerang city government in reducing the accumulation of waste to the Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Rawa Kucing and helping to improve the economy of housewives, especially residents affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Recycle Park Bank Sampah Teratai provides a place for residents of RW 05 Pinang Griya Permai to recycle using the 3R method (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle). The problems faced at the Recycle Park Bank Sampah Teratai are: 1) The Recycle Park Bank sampah Teratai activity program has not utilized used cooking oil waste optimally, 2) Lack of knowledge and skills of the Recycle Park Bank sampah Teratai management in packaging and marketing recycled waste products. These problems are due to partners having limited funds, facilities and human resources. This Community Service Program seeks to provide solutions to overcome these problems through: 1) Conducting training on making aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil for the community and management of the Recycle Park Bank Sampah Teratai, 2) Assisting in aromatherapy candle packaging and online marketing at market places.

Abstract

Located in Muara Enim Regency, Tanjung Baru Village in Lembak Sub-district has an abundance of natural resources, one of which is a pineapple plantation that deserves attention. Thanks to the village's dry soil consisting of sand and low lime content, pineapple cultivation thrives here. In fact, locals often turn to pineapple cultivation for their livelihood. Unfortunately, the sheer number of people owning these plantations has led to a surplus of pineapples, resulting in a drop in prices and lost opportunities for profit. As students, our goal is to foster MSMEs in Tanjung Baru Village through hands-on training on how to make delicious pineapple jam. We strive to provide locals with essential knowledge to effectively utilize pineapple products and delve into researching key ingredients that have the potential to cultivate and trade high-quality pineapples at the best prices. Our goal is to assist the development of MSMEs in Tanjung Baru Village.

Abstract

The objective of this community service activity is to conduct a comprehensive study aimed at enhancing the understanding of parents with children with special needs at SLB Negeri 1 Pare-Pare City, South Sulawesi. The study specifically focuses on the challenges faced by parents in comprehending the changes in their children with special needs during the transition from childhood to adolescence. The behavior and needs of children with special needs during adolescence are similar to those of children without special needs. Almost all children with special needs do not encounter issues with their body growth and development, including when they enter puberty. One of the responsibilities of parents is to provide an understanding of sex, along with guidance on how to protect themselves from sexual harassment and violence. To encourage parents of children with special needs to assist their children in understanding these issues, socialization is conducted along with simple exercises in parenting sex education for parents of children with special needs. The method used involves lectures and question-and-answer sessions on simple sex parenting exercises, with 22 parents participating. The results obtained after this activity show an increase in sexual parenting knowledge, as evidenced by the pre-test and post-test results. There was an 85.7% increase in the knowledge of the training participants, with a noticeable average improvement. This suggests that it may be recommended to expand the scope of service material with more complex exercises.
