Abstract

People tend not to visit health facilities in good health and prefer to use traditional medicines if they are sick, compared to seeing a doctor. The role of health workers and health educators is urgently needed in increasing public awareness in maintaining health both through socialization and health check-up activities. This health examination was carried out by the lecturers and health students of Awal Bros University, on September 11, 2022. The first activity was carried out by recording or registering the people who were present using QR Code registration after which it was continued with a free health check. This activity is intended for all residents of Bengkong Laut Batam. Participants in this community activity attended and came directly to the location of the activity. The number of participants who took part in this activity were 32 people. The method of community service activities is carried out in the form of discussions and practical methods. This practical method is carried out by examining the health of the participants directly, such as measuring blood pressure and checking blood glucose.

Abstract

Doormat-making training can be an effective way to increase the independence of children with special needs. In this training, children are taught how to make mats using simple materials such as old t-shirts, wire, scissors, and sticks or chopsticks. The method used to train students with special needs to make mats from used t-shirts involves identifying their existing level of knowledge and skills, conducting training, and evaluating the training activities. The training in making mats from used t-shirts can be carried out and runs as expected. Students can follow the steps in making a mat, although it may require more time and patience from the trainer in guiding them.

Abstract

The Batam City Health Office facilitates health centers in its working area by using the health center information system to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of patient services. Assistance in the implementation of information systems related to electronic medical records is needed in puskesmas so that the use of information systems can be optimized. This activity aims to improve officer performance in processing electronic medical record data on information systems. This service activity was carried out at the Botania Health Center, Batam City. The methods used in this activity include counseling on optimizing the puskesmas information system, especially electronic medical records, as well as question and answer sessions. Overall, this community service activity went well. Participants also showed good enthusiasm, which was seen from the beginning of the activity to the end of the community service activity. The organizing team provided material related to optimizing the use of the puskesmas information system as well as system maintenance that can be carried out by puskesmas officers themselves without having to rely on the technical team from the Health Office. Socialization and training activities on the use of information systems have been successfully carried out at Puskesmas Botania. Technical solutions related to the use of the ePuskesmas application have been provided, including suggestions for the future development of the puskesmas management information system.

Abstract

Hospitals use Minimum Service Standards (MSS) set by the Ministry of Health to provide health services to the community. Community service activities were carried out at Embung Fatimah Hospital Batam with counseling on SPM for the provision of medical record files. This activity went smoothly and the participants were very enthusiastic. The material was delivered by the team who explained the SPM for medical record files according to the Permenkes regulations. Socialization and training related to SPM for medical record files have also been carried out at Embung Fatimah Hospital Batam. The solution needed is socialization and monitoring of discipline in the provision of medical record files so as not to hamper other work, especially in the medical record file storage section.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to carry out mentoring and training on the innovation of processed fish products in Tablolong village in West Kupang District, related to the development of new processed fish products and business planning for the Tablolong village community. West Kupang sub-district was chosen because the villages in it have potential natural resources (plantations, fisheries, agriculture, tourism) that can be optimized to increase village independence. This service is a university response to encourage the growth of young entrepreneurs in the village. Intensive assistance is sought to ensure that product innovation development efforts can be implemented effectively and can at least contribute to the economy of Tablolong village, West Kupang sub-district. Ultimately, the village community is expected to implement the business idea in order to produce young village entrepreneurs who contribute to the economic development of the village.

Abstract

Medical record is a file that contains notes or documents regarding patient identity, examinations, actions, and other services that have been provided to patients. Medical records are said to be of good quality if they are accurate, complete, reliable, valid and timely to return. According to the standard procedure (Protap) regarding the return of medical records no later than 2x24 hours after the patient returns home or after the patient leaves the hospital. This is intended so that medical record officers are ready to provide patient medical records if needed at any time. Awal Bros Batam Hospital has carried out retentions starting from 2016 onwards with vendors. Currently Awal Bros Batam Hospital already has 1 tool for destroying medical record files in the medical record unit. However, the lack of human resources in the medical record unit makes employees in medical records still doing work, not just one job but they do more than one job.

Abstract

In the era of electronic medical records, it is important to computerize the control system for medical record files to facilitate recording, borrowing, returning, controlling, and managing medical records. By implementing a computerized system, it becomes easier for officers to record, borrow, return, control, and locate medical record files that are taken out of storage. The computerized system eliminates the need for manual record-keeping and ensures proper control and management of medical records, reducing the risk of loss and misfiling. This study focuses on observations made at the Awal Bros Hospital Medical Record Unit in Batam, where missfile incidents occurred frequently, leading to duplicate medical record files and unreliable patient data, as well as wastage of forms. The objective of this research is to raise awareness among officers about a desktop-based computerized medical record control system, with the aim of reducing the loss of medical record documents and occurrences of misfiling. The community service activity was conducted at Awal Bros Batam Hospital in May 2023 and involved lectures and question-and-answer sessions with IT officers and medical record personnel. The outcome of this activity was the socialization of a prototype desktop-based computerized medical record control system to be implemented for storing and retrieving patient medical record files at Awal Bros Hospital Batam. An evaluation of the system was obtained from the participants after the socialization. In conclusion, this community service initiative successfully increased the knowledge of officers in the Medical Record Unit, particularly in the Filing section, regarding the control of computerized medical records.

Abstract

The purpose of the activity is to provide assistance in making seasoning product packaging owned by MSMEs in an effort to help improve the marketing of local Indonesian MSME products. The activity will be applied to the owner of the Sasia brand seasoning MSME production business domiciled in Tangerang, considering that partners still really need product packaging assistance for better marketing. Sasia MSME partners were chosen due to the weak selling value of the packaging provided to consumers, lack of knowledge, and not having better product packaging options that can provide added value to the seasoning products to be sold. This condition is due to the limited working capital owned by partners. So that the product packaging is not maximized. The method offered in the activity is to provide knowledge of the selling value of product packaging, assistance in making product design and packaging. Through this activity, the team will help Sasia MSME product entrepreneurs to do business more oriented towards increasing the selling value of product marketing to consumers through packaging that is not inferior to competitors. Which in turn will lead to an increase in consumer interest in purchasing Sasia brand seasoning products owned by partners.

Abstract

The purpose of the activity is to help business owners have a stock of knowledge about quality costs, so that business owners can increase product excellence compared to other competitors in the market. The partner chosen in the PKM activity is a homemade handicraft business with the Damar Handy Craft brand, various kinds of raw materials are combined and processed into handicraft products such as decorative lamps, decorations and so on. Damar Handy MSMEs are domiciled in the city of Serang, Banten Province. Based on initial observations to partners communicated directly with business owners, the main problem of partners lies in the absence of understanding of the classification of quality costs and their application. This is due to the partners' lack of knowledge about quality costs so that the handicraft products that are successfully made do not have adequate quality with an efficient level of cost expenditure. The method offered in the activity is training/socialization on quality costs and the classification and utilization of quality costs in online handicraft processing. The results of the activity show that the implementation of the training went smoothly, there was a discussion between the partners and the PKM team. It is hoped that knowledge about quality costs can be able to overcome partner problems, so that partners can increase product excellence compared to competitors.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to provide training in creating business plans for novice entrepreneurs. A business plan is a written document that outlines the external and internal elements involved in starting a new business. Typically, a business plan includes the company's main objectives and strategies. However, many MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) face challenges due to limited human resources with expertise in this area. As a result, their business plans are often created based on immediate needs rather than being thoroughly developed. Consequently, business owners, especially young entrepreneurs like Mrs. Desy, may encounter difficulties in the future as they run their businesses. To address this issue, the PKM Team aims to provide training on how to create a comprehensive business plan, offering valuable support to Mrs. Desy and other entrepreneurs in PGC. A well-crafted business plan is essential for achieving success in business ventures.
