Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of social support in managing stress among Generation Z in Bandung. Using a quantitative approach, the research involved 300 respondents aged between 12 and 27 years. Data were collected through a questionnaire measuring social support and stress levels. The results indicate that social support, particularly emotional support from family and close friends, as well as informational support from the internet and social media, significantly impacts stress reduction. Correlation analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between social support and stress levels (r = -0.45, p < 0.01), while regression analysis showed that social support significantly affects stress levels (β = -0.35, p < 0.01). Stress levels also varied by age group, with the 12-17 age group reporting higher stress levels. The study suggests enhancing family support, utilizing technology for social support, and developing support programs in schools and universities as measures to improve mental well-being among Generation Z.

Abstract

The waste management practices in Betung Barat Village were previously poorly managed. Waste was merely piled up around homes, in water channels, or burned. These methods have proven to harm the environment, resulting in air pollution. This environmental contamination also negatively impacted public health due to water sources being polluted by waste, contributing to cases of stunting among children in the village. PT Pertamina EP Raja Tempirai implemented the Sustainable Waste Management Group Program in synergy with PHE Raja Tempirai (Kemala Pertiwi) to address this issue. This program aims to integrate waste management with health initiatives, thereby providing economic benefits to the community of Betung Barat Village, Abab District, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency (PALI), South Sumatra Province. The program involves forming community groups, training sessions, and developing local tourism as part of efforts to empower and improve the community's welfare. The key activities of the Kemala Pertiwi program include maggot cultivation, freshwater fish farming, organic vegetable farming, and preventing stunting by utilizing the produce from these activities as a healthy food source.

Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of the internship program in preparing students for professional careers in the Public Administration Department of Puangrimanggalatung University. It examines both the implementation of the program and the factors influencing its success and challenges. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study involved interviews with internship students, recipient agencies, and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Data was analyzed through content analysis to identify key themes and patterns. The findings reveal discrepancies between the program's execution and the regulations set by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, notably the shorter internship duration of one month versus the mandated 3-6 months. Additionally, while students benefit from the flexibility to select their internship sites based on their interests, a major challenge is the insufficient communication between the faculty, students, and recipient agencies. The study concludes that improving adherence to regulations and enhancing communication could significantly benefit the internship program's effectiveness.

Abstract

The business sector has experienced a notable downturn due to the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in financial setbacks for many companies. The implementation of PPKM has led to a decrease in people's purchasing power as they prefer to cook at home. In response, fast food companies have launched various promotions to restore sales levels and further develop Indonesia's culinary potential. KFC has maintained the top spot as the best-selling fast-food restaurant in Indonesia for more than a decade not only because of its products, but also because of its professional service quality that makes consumers feel at home and continue to choose KFC as their main choice. This research seeks to analyze how the quality of products and services at KFC affects the purchasing choices of customers. The theoretical framework consists of product quality, service quality, and purchasing decisions. With product quality and service quality as independent variables and purchase decisions as the dependent variable, the study concentrated on KFC outlets in Jakarta. Information was gathered from 100 participants through an online survey using Google Forms. Non-probability sampling through a judgment sampling technique was utilized. Findings indicate that both product quality and service quality play a positive role in influencing the purchasing behaviors of KFC customers in Jakarta. The study concludes that the quality of products and services at KFC in Jakarta significantly impacts customers' purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the significance of the interpretation of the animal element in the manuscript Jav 24, which contains the text Jayalengkara Wulang, and its relevance to the main doctrine of Javanese leadership, namely Asta Brata. This investigation involves qualitative research using the hermeneutic phenomenological approach of Paul Ricouer. This study limits the interpretation to the illumination elements depicting three animals, namely elephants, lions and crocodiles. As an illuminating element in the text, the elephant represents strength, the lion represents protection from disturbances from the land, and the crocodile represents protection from disturbances from the water. In other words, the animal images as enlightenment elements in this text represent strength and protection. Strength and protection are two of the eight most important Javanese leadership teachings summarized in Asta Brata. Illumination is another manifestation of text so that there is a message contained in this illumination. In order for the message manifested in this illumination to reach the reader, it is necessary to present these illuminations in a more popular form.

Abstract

Teachers have a pivotal role in shaping students’ intellect by sharing knowledge and fostering critical thinking. Despite being perceived as resilient, they encounter struggles that impede their effectiveness due to overwhelming paperwork, classroom management issues, administrative responsibilities, and the nature of their work. As a result, one of the ways they cope to alleviate stress is by turning to coffee and making it a part of their routine. This phenomenology study explored the unheard narratives of public-school teachers’ frequency of coffee consumption, motivation, and impact on their daily routine. Ten (10) key informants were selected using purposive sampling to participate in the study. A structured interview guide was used and executed in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as an approach to data collection. The study revealed that the aroma, antioxidants, and warm feelings were the themes that drove teachers to consume coffee. Also, coffee provides an extra boost of energy, a brighter mood, and a sense of fulfillment as it is perceived to contribute to the daily routine of teachers. It is concluded that coffee secures a spot in the daily habits of teachers as it gives them the alertness and activeness needed to begin their day effectively. In addition, taking coffee breaks allows teachers to discuss their issues and difficulties while offering each other support. This fosters a sense of camaraderie over a cup of coffee, potentially resulting in solid friendships and forming a tight-knit teaching community, all for the benefit of the students.

Abstract

This study assessed the awareness of basic computer concepts and terminology among 461 first-year students enrolled in Information Technology Education (ITE) programs at the University of Antique Tario-Lim Memorial Campus during the first semester of Academic Year 2024-2025. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a structured survey questionnaire to evaluate students' familiarity with fundamental computer concepts across Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Computer Science (BSCS), and Information Systems (BSIS) programs. Results revealed moderate familiarity with basic concepts but significant gaps in advanced areas such as programming languages, cybersecurity, and software development life cycle. BSCS students demonstrated stronger familiarity with hardware and software applications, while BSIS students excelled in information systems. The study identified a pressing need for targeted educational interventions, particularly for students from non-ICT backgrounds. These findings underscore the importance of aligning curriculum development with students' diverse preparatory needs and industry expectations. The research contributes valuable insights for enhancing IT education strategies and suggests the implementation of remedial courses to bridge knowledge gaps, thereby improving students' academic and professional prospects in the rapidly evolving IT field.
