Abstract

This research examines social interactions in customary rituals and community cooperation in the farming process of the Dayak Tamambalo Apalin tribe in Sungai Uluk Palin Village. A qualitative approach was used with a case study method to explore how local cultural values influence social interactions and economic sustainability in their farming practices. This study involves the collection of data through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and related document analysis. The research results show that the traditional ritual, Pamolek Beok, is a form of celebration that is held to conclude the entire series of farming processes. Gotong royong, in the form of mutual assistance in working the fields and sharing harvests, not only optimizes resources but also strengthens social relationships among community members. The social interaction that occurs in this farming practice not only involves economic dimensions but also spiritual and ecological values. The active involvement of all community members demonstrates a collective commitment to environmental preservation as well as sustainable local economic development. This process illustrates how traditional practices can adapt to advancements in modern technology without sacrificing a rich cultural heritage. This research emphasizes the importance of understanding and promoting culturally-based farming practices as a model for strengthening communities, enhancing economic well-being, and maintaining environmental balance. This research can assist the Dayak Tamambalo Apalin community and similar communities worldwide by promoting the preservation of culture and the environment as well as providing insights for sustainable development policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of politeness maxims according to Geoffrey Leech's theory in teacher-student, student teacher, student-student, and teacher-all-student interactions of class XI SMAN 1 Serasan Timur. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data in the form of audio recordings during learning. The results show that teacher-student interactions include 49 utterances, consisting of maxims of wisdom (17), generosity (2), appreciation (12), humility (2), consensus (11), and sympathy (1). Student-student interactions include 15 utterances: wisdom (3), generosity (2), appreciation (1), humility (1), consensus (7), and sympathy (1). Meanwhile, teacher interactions with all students only show 2 utterances of the consensus maxim and 2 of the sympathy maxim. The most frequent interactions occur between male teachers and female students, as well as female teachers and male students. The maxim of humility is the least frequent. These results are implied in learning negotiation texts for grade X SMA with a mini market simulation strategy to form polite language skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the connection between soccer players' dribbling abilities and their speed and agility. Twenty students from Tanjungpura University's PKO soccer study program made up the research sample. They were put through a 30-meter running agility test with a ball, a shuttle run, and a speed test dribbling test with the ball acting as a barrier. Tests for homogeneity, correlation, and normality were employed to examine the information.. The null hypothesis (H₀) was approved since the normality test's p-value was greater than 0.05. p-value in the homogeneity test was greater than 0.05, and the correlation test revealed a very strong and positive correlation with a value over 0.95 that at the 0.01 (1%) level was significant. The results of the investigation show a significant positive association between ball dribbling ability and speed and agility. These results imply that soccer players' dribbling skills can be enhanced by boosting speed and agility.
