This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The participants in this study are the head and teachers of RA DWP Kanwil Kemenag. The data analysis technique employs qualitative analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the application of roleplaying methods effectively increases the self-confidence of children aged 5-6 years through proper preparation and instructions, direct action in the play, and in-depth evaluation of the students' progress. This supports the development of children's self-confidence through comprehensive and meaningful learning experiences at RA DWP Kanwil Kemenag. Teachers clearly choose role-playing situations that match the children's needs, provide instructions on role characteristics, and conduct warm-up exercises before starting the play. This helps students develop imagination and group cohesion. Students actively engage in role-playing with confidence and enthusiasm, then participate in reflective discussions to understand and respond to the experiences they have had. This supports the development of a deeper understanding of themselves and social relationships, as well as critical thinking skills. Teachers evaluate by observing student interactions during the play and providing constructive feedback, as well as planning relevant follow-up activities to reinforce their selfconfidence. This evaluation helps identify students' progress in selfconfidence, optimistic attitudes, responsibility, and rational and realistic thinking.

Abstract

Chinese characters are an important part of learning Chinese. Student"™s Chinese language proficiency depends on the teaching materials used in the learning process. Student"™s ability to recognize Chinese characters greatly affects their overall Chinese language proficiency. Since 2021, a new standard has been in effect, namely the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education". In this new standard, there are changes, namely increasing the number of test levels, expanding the scope of the test, and determining the number of Chinese characters that must be mastered at each level. The author used the library method and comparative analysis method to examine the arrangement and scope of Chinese characters in seven "Road to Success" textbooks, and analyzed and compared the Chinese characters in "Road to Success" based on the "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education". The results of this study are that, from "Introduction" to "Progress 2", the arrangement of the number of Chinese characters in each section is relatively reasonable and the number of Chinese characters is steadily increasing. There is no significant increase or decrease in the number of Chinese characters and overall the arrangement is well organized. Then the analysis results are that the first level (basic) covering 52%, the second level (basic) covering 23%, the third level (basic) covering 12%, and the fourth level (intermediate) covering 5%. The total coverage rate (first to fourth levels) is an average of 92%, and Mandarin characters not included in levels 1 to 4 cover 8%.

Abstract

Article history: Received: Revised: Accepted: This research aims to examine the effect of paper quilling activities on boosting creativity in children aged 5-6 years at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 5 in Pontianak. The study employs a quantitative approach using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consists of 25 students from class B3, including 15 boys and 10 girls. Data analysis involves both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings show that paper quilling activities positively influence the creativity of the children, offering them opportunities to experiment with various paper shapes and colors, which foster creative thinking and lead to unique creations. Significant improvements were noted in flexibility and originality, demonstrating that these activities effectively encouraged the children to come up with diverse and original ideas. Prior to the activities, the children"™s creativity levels were categorized as moderately good, with most children falling under "Starting to Develop" (MB) and "Developing as Expected" (BSH) in fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. After the paper quilling sessions, there was a noticeable increase, with more children reaching the "Developing as Expected" (BSH) and "Developing Very Well" (BSB) categories. The results of the paired sample t-test indicated a significant difference in creativity levels before and after the intervention, supported by a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, confirming that paper quilling activities significantly enhanced the creativity of the children at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 5.

Abstract

The Chinese language has unique grammatical characteristics. Chinese grammar encompasses two main aspects: morphology and syntax. Morphology in Chinese includes many elements, including words that are similar or alike, known as synonyms. In studying synonyms, students often encounter difficulties. One of these challenges is the use of the words "yi wei" and "ren wei." To analyze in depth the errors in the use of the synonyms "yi wei" and "ren wei," this study involves students from the Mandarin Language Education Program, Class of 2022, at Tanjungpura University, using tests and questionnaires as methods. The test results show that students have not mastered the words "yi wei" and "ren wei" well, with error rates of 50.55% and 45.93%, respectively. For "yi wei," the most dominant error is in word order, reaching 74.07%. Similarly, for "ren wei," the most dominant error is also in word order, at 55.56%. The results of the questionnaire indicate that generalization of target language rules and errors in teaching methods are the main factors causing the students' mistakes. Therefore, it is recommended that to improve students' understanding of the use of "yi wei" and "ren wei," targeted teaching should be reinforced, more practical language application exercises in real situations should be included, teaching methods should be improved to reduce errors, and students should be assisted in overcoming the influence of their mother tongue interference.
