Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model affects the reading comprehension skills of SDN 06 South Pontianak fifth-grade pupils. The study was carried out utilizing a quasi-experimental design and an experimental methodology. All fifth-grade pupils, split into two groups, made up the population. Twenty-four students from class VB and twenty-five students from class VA were included in the sample. An essay test with 12 questions served as the research tool, and data was gathered utilizing a measuring approach. According to the data analysis, the experimental class's average final test score was 79.6, whereas the control group's average score was 71.25. Hypothesis testing using the t-test resulted in a calculated t-value of 2.910, with a degree of freedom (df) of 47 (25+24-2) and a significance level of α = 5%, where the critical t-value was 2.012. Since 𝑡count > 𝑡table, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Furthermore, it was determined that the effect size (d) was 0.83. These results show that fifth-grade students at SDN 06 South Pontianak's reading comprehension abilities are greatly impacted by the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model in Indonesian language instruction.

Abstract

Listening comprehension is a crucial skill in EFL learning but often becomes a challenge due to limited vocabulary, varied accents, and fast speech. This research aimed to improve students’ listening comprehension by using the YouTube Easy English Channel as a digital learning medium. The study was conducted through Classroom Action Research (CAR) at SMP Negeri 9 Pontianak in the 2024/2025 academic year, involving 30 eighth-grade students. The research was carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data were collected using observation checklists, field notes, and listening comprehension tests. The findings revealed that students’ listening ability improved significantly after the implementation of YouTube videos. In Cycle I, the average score was 63, with only 13.33% of students achieving the minimum mastery criterion (KKTP = 78). After refinement in Cycle II, the average score increased to 85.33 and all students passed. The results showed that the Easy English Channel effectively enhanced students’ skills in identifying main ideas, supporting details, moral values, and vocabulary. It can be concluded that integrating YouTube videos into the classroom provides authentic and engaging learning experiences that help students improve their listening comprehension.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and produce additional teaching materials on the topic "Substances and Their Changes" for fourth-grade elementary school students. This research uses a research and development methodology with a mixed approach, following the 4D model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. During the product development phase, the researcher conducted product trials with 33 fourth-grade students at state elementary school 17 in Pontianak city. The result of this research is a validated teaching resource designed to enhance learning and increase students' knowledge about the states of matter and their changes. The validity criteria are classified into "very valid", "valid", "less valid", "invalid", and "very invalid". Meanwhile, the validation conducted by design experts resulted in an average score of 4.3, classified as "very valid", while material experts also provided a validation score of 4.3, which is also categorized as "very valid". Furthermore, the large-scale product testing achieved an average score of 4.4, reflecting the criteria of "very good", therefore this product has met the criteria as a good product for learners that can serve as a guide for students to enhance their knowledge, especially on the subject of states of matter and its changes in 4th grade at the elementary school level.

The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and test sheets. The data analysis used in this study used statistical analysis techniques, namely inferential analysis assisted by the SPSS 25 application. Based on the analysis of the research data, the results showed that there was an effect of the use of the Problem-Based Learning learning model on the achievement of students' critical reasoning dimensions, as evidenced by the results of the Wilcoxon test which showed a sig value of 0.000

Abstract

This research seeks to explore the link between learning discipline and academic outcomes for students in PPKn (Civics Education). A quantitative approach using a correlational method is utilized. Data sources include PPKn teachers and students, with data collection techniques consisting of questionnaires, PPKn test results, and documentation. The research follows several stages of data analysis, including descriptive statistical analysis, normality test, linearity test, hypothesis testing, and determination coefficient test, followed by drawing conclusions. To examine the relationship between learning discipline and academic performance in PPKn, the researcher distributed questionnaires and collected students' academic results from the PPKn teacher. Subsequently, normality and linearity tests were conducted, followed by a Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. Using SPSS 16, the data was evaluated to explore the link between the two variables. The outcomes revealed a significance value of 0.102, higher than 0.05, reflecting no significant correlation among learning discipline and students' academic performance in PPKn for Class IX B at SMPIT Al-Mumtaz.

Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between speed and agility with dribbling skills among students of the Sports Coaching Education Program at Universitas Tanjungpura who are involved in football. A quantitative descriptive approach was applied, utilizing a 30-meter sprint test to measure speed, a zig-zag run test to assess agility, and an obstacle dribbling test to evaluate dribbling skills. The participants consisted of 20 students. Normality and homogeneity analyses confirmed that the data met statistical assumptions. Linearity tests further indicated that the independent and dependent variables were linearly related. Correlation analysis demonstrated a significant association between speed and dribbling skills (r = 0.480; p = 0.032), while agility did not show a significant correlation (r = 0.234; p = 0.321). The results highlight that speed plays a stronger role in influencing dribbling performance compared to agility. Consequently, speed-focused training is suggested to enhance dribbling ability, while agility exercises remain valuable as complementary practice.
