The purpose of this research is to discover student’s misconceptions in the linear inequality of one variable and the cause of it in grade X SMK-SMTI Pontianak. The tools used to detecting student’s misconceptions in this subject are four-tier diagnostic tests while the form of the research is a case study with a descriptive method. The techniques to gather the data in this research are test (written test) and non-test (interview). The result from misconception description analysis that has been done by students found that misconception happened in translation, concept, systematic, and calculation. Based on the form of the misconception that students have, the most is a misconception in the concept. The causes of student’s misconceptions are preconception or an initial concept, student’s associative thinking, incorrect reasoning, inaccurate intuition, student’s capability and the lack of students' interest in learning. Abstract

AbstractThis research is aimed to recognize student?s error in completing quadratic inequalities questions based on the Newman method, besides that the researcher wants to discover student?s level of certainty using the Certainty of Response Index by examined the score that has been given and student?s learning style. The form of this research is a survey, therefore data presentation that has been done in the process of the research are the result of learning style questionnaire, quadratic inequalities essay test followed with CRI score by the students. The result from this research found that students with a predominantly visual learning style will conduct errors in transformation with low certainty level. Students with a predominantly auditory learning style will conduct errors in process skill and final result with high certainty level. Students with a predominantly kinesthetic learning style will conduct errors in process skill and final result with high certainty level.Keyword: Errors, Newman Method, Certainty of Response Index, Learning style

Abstract

AbstractChinese adverbs "yuanlai" and "benlai" are one of the most commonly used time adverbs in Chinese. Both words use adverbs of time. In addition, the use of different adverbs can change the meaning of a sentence. In the process of learning, Chinese learners sometimes misuse the understanding of "yuanlai" and "benlai". The author test the students of Chinese Tanjungpura University in 2015 using "yuanlai" and "benlai" to analyze the student errors and find out the reasons. From the results of the test, the author concludes that the error rate of student using "yuanlai" and "benlai" adverbs is 52.15%, and the correct rate is 47.85%. The students errors in using adverbs of "awalnya" and "sebenarnya" are due to the difficulty of grammatical "yuanlai" and "benlai". The test results show that the subjects do not grasp the usage very well in the process of learning these two adverbs. The author also understands that the common types of errors in students learning are misrepresentation errors and misorder errors. Keywords: Yuanlai and Benlai, Time Adverbs, Errors Analysis
