Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding has a great contribution to the growth and development and endurance of children. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2017), exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk that is given to babies from birth for 6 months, without adding and/or replacing with other foods or drinks. There are several factors that can affect the exclusive breastfeeding. This study aims to determine what factors associated exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Harapan Baru Public Health Center, Samarinda. The research design used in this research is descriptive correlational. The sample in this study amounted to 107 infants aged 6-12 months. The sampling technique used cluster sampling. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used Chi Square. The results showed that the factors that associated exclusive breastfeeding in the work area of the Harapan Baru Public Health Center, Samarinda were the parity (0.038 < 0.05), employment status (0.040 < 0.05), socioeconomic status (0.017 < 0.05), family support (0.006 < 0.05), early initiation of breastfeeding (0.009 < 0.05). The factors most related to exclusive breastfeeding are family support and early initiation of breastfeeding.

Abstract

Breast cancer patients must undergo a series of therapies that take a long time with painful side effects. Fellow breast cancer sufferers are people who can provide psychological support to patients. Cancer patients need to get support from others to always motivate, encourage, motivate, control and assist cancer patients. Objective: This study aims to develop a model of empowerment of WhatsApp Group to Increase Optimism of Breast Cancer Survivors in Medan. Method: The type of research used is action research with 72 sample. There are 2 types of instruments for data collection, the focus group discussion (FGD) question guide and the Revised Life Orientation Test (LOT-R) instrument with cronbach alpha 0.95. The increase in optimism can be seen from the average score of optimism before and after research. Results: This research in the formation of the Whattsapps Group HFCC Community Group for posting positive things in the group. The results of the optimism assessment showed that 83% of participants had positive optimism after the webinar activity on tips and tricks "Successful controlling emotions with Optimism". This study has a significant positive impact on optimism before and after WhatsApp Group empowerment. Conclusions: Sharing positive experiences and information is very important to improve the optimization of fellow breast cancer patients in the WA Group that has been formed. In addition, family support is needed to continue to provide support in tasks and economic functions.

Abstract

Medicinal plants or herbs have been widely used as a companion or substitute for drugs made from chemicals to overcome health problems. The existence of these medicinal plants can prevent the elderly from using chemical painkillers can cause side effects when consumed for a long time. Some medicinal plants such as onions, ginger, lemongrass, and cinnamon have several active compounds that can reduce joint pain experienced by the elderly by giving warm compresses to the inflamed area. Purpose: to provide evidence-based information obtained from the results of a literature review related to the provision of warm compresses made from medicinal plants in the form of onions, ginger, lemongrass, and cinnamon to reduce joint pain in the elderly. Method: this study is to search for data sources for journal articles through the Google Schooler database, Research Gate, Elsevier, Sage, Portal Garuda, Scopus, Knowledge E, Sinta, Litbangkes with a span of 5-10 years, both in Indonesian and English. Results: based on 73 studies, it was found that giving warm compresses made from onions, ginger, lemongrass, and cinnamon can reduce joint pain in the elderly in the range of moderate to mild pain. Conclusion: giving warm compresses made from medicinal plants onion, ginger, lemongrass, and cinnamon can reduce joint pain experienced by the elderly.

Abstract

Diarrhea is defecation three or more times in one day with a liquid consistency which is one of the infectious diseases that causes death in infants and toddlers, at the Rowosari II Health Center is one of the areas where the number of diarrhea sufferers has increased from 2018-2020. that is as many as 115 people to 125 people. Factors that influence the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers include clean water sources, latrine ownership facilities, and the type of floor. This study aims to determine the relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of diarrhea in children under five in the Rowosari II health center. This type of analytic observational research with a cross-sectional approach, with a questionnaire measuring instrument, processed by univariate and bivariate tests, and chi-square test, if it does not meet the requirements then the fishers exact test. The results of the study on 40 respondents who were the patient population of Rowosari II Health Center, it was found that there was a relationship between clean water sources (Pvalue = 0.029) with the incidence of diarrhea in children under five at Rowosari II Health Center during the last six months, and there was no relationship between latrine ownership facilities (Pvalue). = 1.00) and the type of floor (Pvalue = 0.746) (Odds Ratio 95% CI = 1.160 (0.475–2.830) with the incidence of diarrhea in children under five at the Rowosari II Health Center during the last six months. Parents of children under five are expected to better maintain the hygiene conditions of toddlers as well as the environment and related agencies in order to improve health promotion regarding clean, healthy living behavior and using water sources from PAMSIMAS.

Abstract

Covid-19 can attack all walks of life, including pregnant women. Pregnant women are one of the vulnerable groups at risk of being infected with COVID-19 because during pregnancy physiological changes occur which result in a partial decrease in immunity and can cause serious impacts for pregnant women. Lack of knowledge will have an impact on non-compliance of pregnant women in implementing health protocols so that they are vulnerable to contracting Covid-19. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the level of knowledge of pregnant women about 3M on adherence to the application of 3M during the pandemic. Design The design of this study was a descriptive correlational study with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 66 respondents with purposive sampling technique. The study used a knowledge level questionnaire and 3M implementation compliance. Analysis of the data using the analysis of Descriptive Statistics and Chi Square. The results of this study indicate that the average age of the respondents is 29 years, the average is the 2nd pregnancy, the education level of the majority of respondents is high school education as many as 43 respondents (65.2%) and the level of knowledge of pregnant women about 3M in the good category is as much as 48 respondents (72.7%) and compliance with 3M implementation in the obedient category were 59 respondents (89.4%). Conclusion There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of pregnant women about 3M with adherence to the application of 3M during the pandemic (p = 0.01).

Abstract

Family knowledge about Covid-19 is the beginning of an effort to provide a conducive climate for family members being treated for Covid-19. The family is the most important source of treatment for sick family members and greatly helps increase immunity for family members who are infected with Covid-19. The purpose of knowing family knowledge about Covid-19 and family attitudes towards family members who suffer from Covid-19 at Dr.H. Soewondo Kendal. This study used a descriptive survey study design, a sample of 65 samples, the sampling technique used consecutive sampling. The questionnaire used was family knowledge about Covid-19 and a family attitude questionnaire towards family members who suffered from Covid-19. Statistical analysis using univariate analysis. This research has been declared ethically feasible according to 7 WHO standards with ethically appropriate information number 24/KEPK- RSUD/EC/VII/2021. The results showed that the average age of the respondents was 39 years, the minimum age was 28 years and the maximum age was 58 years, the majority were educated. SMA as much as 55.45%, male 55.4%, working as an employee 26.2%, status in the family of children as much as 43.1%, having good knowledge as much as 49.2%, having a good attitude as much as 75 ,4%. The results of this study are expected to be used as a basis for implementing health promotions to increase family knowledge about Covid-19 so that families are able to determine and make decisions on how to behave towards family members who are infected with Covid- 19.

Abstract

Urinary tract infection is caused by pathogenic microorganisms ascending from the urethra to the bladder and increasing in number, then evoking infection of the ureters and kidneys. The incidence of urinary tract infection at Pelamonia Hospital in 2018 was 1094 cases, and from January to August in 2019, the number of cases was 944 cases, while for the last three months data were 321 cases. The purpose of this study was to describe the characteristics of patients with urinary tract infection. This study is a descriptive study using the Accidental Sampling design. The sample in the study was 38 people who were diagnosed with urinary tract infection at Pelamonia Hospital. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The results of this study showed that from 38 respondents with urinary tract infection (UTI), the average age was mostly between 56-65 years as many as 14 (36.8%) respondents, most of them were female as many as 20 (52.6%) respondents, most are high school graduates as many as 25 (65.8%) respondents, most only have sufficient knowledge as many as 35 (92.1%) respondents, and mostly occurred in the accustomed to holding urination group as many as 34 (89.5%) respondents. The conclusions of this study indicate that the characteristics of patients with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) such as age, gender, education level, knowledge, and accustomed to hold urination play a role in the incidence of urinary tract infection.

Abstract

Kitolod plant (isotoma longiflora (L) C.Presl) contains alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins. The content of this compound has antibacterial activity. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water fractions from the ethanolic extract of kitolod leaves against Staphylococcus aureus, and to determine the most active fraction in inhibiting bacteria. This research is an experimental descriptive study. The ethanolic extract of kitolod leaves was obtained by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent, the viscous extract obtained was fractionated with three solvents, and dissolved in 1% DMSO then tested for its antibacterial power by diffusion and dilution method against Staphylococcus aureus at concentrations of 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30% using ofloxacin positive control. The test results obtained were analyzed using the One Way Anova test followed by the Post Hoc Test using the Tukey method using SPSS16. The results of the test using the diffusion method showed that the ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction had antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The most active fraction was the water fraction at a concentration of 30%, with an average inhibition zone diameter of 19.0 mm. The inhibitory power was lower than the positive control ofloxacin (28.3 mm). The dilution method of the water fraction showed a minimum inhibitory concentration and a minimum kill concentration at a concentration of 15%.

Abstract

Phthalimide derivate compounds was reported as a new class of nonnucleoside reverse tranckriptase inhibitors. The aim of this research is to determine the prediction of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) as well as the toxicity test of phthalimide-derived compounds which have the best potential as HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme inhibitors. This study used an in silico approach to predict oral bioavailability and toxicity. The prediction of the ADME in this study using SwissADME which is run online where thirty-three phthalimide derivate compounds have molecular weight, hydrogen donor and acceptor bond, and log P ​​that meet the criteria of Lipinski Rules. Prediction of toxicity ​​in this study using in silico method with Toxtree v1.60 and it is known that phthalimide derivate compounds are not carcinogenic and mutagenic.

Abstract

The incidence of stunting in Indonesia is still high, various efforts have been made by the government to reduce stunting. Stunting is a health problem that often occurs in children which can result in decreased productivity and intelligence in adulthood. This study aims to analyze the prevention factors for stunting at the age of toddlers. Checklist Prisma has been used for registration of titles, abstracts, full texts and methodologies with the keywords Analysis AND stunting AND Prevention AND Intervention. The computerized databases that have been used to search for articles in this study are Science Direct, Pubmed, ProQuest and Google Scholar. Has used articles that report quantitative and qualitative research in journals published in the period 2017 to 2022. The method used in data analysis is thematic analysis. This literature review involved 29 selected articles. There were 8 main factors that could affect stunting, namely nutrition/nutrition, economic status, education/knowledge, sanitation/environment, geographic location, government/cross-sectoral policies, age of marriage and health education. Most of the factors that contribute to stunting prevention are the provision of macronutrient/micronutrient supplements in the form of zinc tablets to adolescent girls, pregnant women, and supplementary feeding to children under five. Most of the studies reported in these 29 articles used a qualitative, quantitative design and were conducted in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Peru, Nepal, USA and Zimbabwe. In all these articles it is reported that the incidence of stunting is still high in several countries and especially in Indonesia. This literature review reported using 29 articles that met the inclusion criteria from the Science Direct, Pubmed, ProQuest and Google Scholar databases. The results detect the main factors that influence the occurrence of stunting, namely malnutrition in the early 1000 days of life, while for prevention is giving blood/zinc tablets to adolescents, pregnant women.
