Abstract

Prolonged labor, also known as failure to progress, occurs when the total duration of labor is more than 24 hours and if not handled properly will cause various complications for the mother and baby and even lead to death. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of labor dance on the duration of the first active phase of labor in nulliparous women. This study was a true experimental randomized controlled trial (single blind) with a posttest only with control group design. This research was conducted from 1 February to 31 March 2023 at the Central General Hospital Prof. dr.I.G.N.G Ngoerah Denpasar and Regional General Hospital Wangaya Denpasar. 42 primigravida mothers were randomly selected according to arrival, with 21 people in the intervention and control groups. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test. The average length of the first stage of labor in the experimental group was 252,62 minutes and in the control group was 355,95 minutes (p-value=0,000); effect size of 1,61 (strong effect) with a percentage of 94,5%. There was a statistically significant difference in the duration of the active phase I stage of labor between the experimental and control groups. It is hoped that health workers, especially midwives, will

Abstract

One of the factors causing the failure of exclusive breastfeeding is working mothers. Previous research has stated that working others are 2,3 times less likely to provide breast milk compared to non-working mothers. This study aimed to analyze the influence of education on expressed breast milk management using pocket books on knowledge and breastfeeding among working mothers in Palangkaraya City. This research was a quasi-experimental study using pretest-posttest control group structure. This study?s sample include breastfeeding women who work in the working area of Palangkaraya City Public Health Center, with 30 participants in each group. The sample was selected using consecutive sampling technique. Statistical tests were performed using the chi-square test. Observation of expressed breast milk feeding was carried out one month after the mothers returned to work. This study result found significant differences in knowledge and breastfeeding practices between the intervention and control groups (p-value<0,05). Most of the mothers who were given the pocket book had good knowledge, while most of the mothers who used the KIA book had sufficient knowledge. Mothers who were given the pocket book were also more likely to provide expressed breast milk to their babies compared to mothers who used the KIA book. Health workers can provide education about  expressed breast milk to working mothers using pocket books that are easy to carry, allowing mothers to read them anywhere and manage expressed breast milk at work to increase the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

T2 FLAIR has a long scanning time, because T2 FLAIR has additional TI (Time of Inversion) so patients feel uncomfortable. The SENSE produces image quality, namely contrast and spatial resolution, which is the same as standard image reconstruction, but the scan time required is only half of the standard scan time. This research aimed to determined the difference between SENSE and non-SENSE techniques in axial T2 FLAIR MRI Brain on SNR values and scan time. This study used 16 samples from all patients with T2 FLAIR axial MRI brain at Gambiran Hospital using SENSE and non-SENSE techniques. The results of the image were evaluated by quantitative method, by giving ROI (Region of Interest) to the cerebral cortex, basal ganglia, thalamus and noise background, then the signal intensity obtained from the organ image and the standard deviation (SD) of the background of the image was calculated by dividing the average signal of the measured area by SD at the noise to obtain the SNR value. The results of the SNR value were analyzed by the Paired T-Test and tested with the SPSS version 25. There was a difference between the SENSE and non-SENSE techniques in the axial T2 FLAIR MRI brain to the SNR value. This difference is because the T2 FLAIR non-SENSE does not experience the reduction in phase encoding lines needed to fill the image k-space on each coil element, a potential deficiency is met by the elimination of wrapping information that results in high image resolution spatial.

Abstract

One of the causes of nutritional problems, especially in vulnerable groups such as pregnant-women and toddlers, is due to a lack of energy and nutritional intake. Utilization of Morijell (instant pudding from Moringa-leaves) as an alternative additional food as an effort to improve the nutritional status of toddlers and pregnant women. This study aimed to assess the acceptability and nutritional content of Morijell. It was an experimental research based on completely randomized design. The research results were analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test to test differences in acceptability and the T-test was used to compare selected formula nutrients with controls. The acceptability assessment results showed that Morijell instant pudding was acceptable with the best formula score=6,024. The most popular instant-pudding formula enriched with Moringa leaf powder is Morijell with the addition of 4 g Moringa leaf powder (F1). Significant differences in the Morijell instant pudding hedonic test were seen in the aroma and taste attributes (p-value<0,05), while the texture and color attributes didn’t significantly influence panelist acceptance (p-value>0,05). The results of the nutritional analysis of the best formula show significant differences in protein, fat and calcium (p-value<0,05). The best formula contains energy=197,56 kcal, protein=6,65 grams, fat=6,28 grams, iron=3,82 mg and calcium=336,17 mg. In conclusion, the addition of Moringa-leaf-powder affects the aroma and taste but doesn’t affect the color and the texture.

Abstract

The incidence of overweight among teenagers aged 16–18 years in Indonesia increased from 1,4% in 2010 to 7,3% in 2015, with 5,7% overweight and 1,6% obese. This highlighted the growing concern of nutritional difficulties within this age group. Examining the effects of monopoly nutrition media and films on adolescent knowledge, attitudes, and fruit and vegetable intake at SMAN 1 Bojonggede was the primary goal of this project. A quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group was used in the investigation. Thirty undergraduates participated in the study, with participants selected using stratified random selection methods. And then splitted into two groups: one to get nutrition monopoly media as an intervention and another to have video shown as a control. We took a pretest and a posttest to gauge participants’ knowledge and attitudes over the course of two weeks. The SQ-FFQ was used to collect baseline data on participants’ intake one week before the intervention and again one week after it. In one set of analyses, the Wilcoxon Test and Paired Sample T-Test were used, whereas in another set, the Mann Whitney test and Independent Sample T-Test were employed. A statistical analysis reveals that the intervention group’s knowledge is significantly different from the control group’s (p-value=0,003) and that the intervention group’s attitude is significantly different from the control group’s (p-value=0,000). Consumption of calories, carbohydrates, and fiber doesn't change significantly (p-valur >0,05).
