Abstract

Merdeka curriculum is a curriculum approach intoduced in Indonesia to provide more flexibility to schools and teachers who design and implement the education curriculum. This research aims to find out the challenges faced by teachers in teaching writing skills through merdeka curriculum. This study explores the various challenges teachers face. This research article uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained by conducting an interview with an English teacher at SMAN 1 Pabedilan. The findings show that the biggest challenge in implementing merdeka curriculum, especially in teaching writing is adjusting the diversity of students’ ability levels and teacher lacks undertanding in using technology. Based on the findings, teachers need to take a more in-depth approach to determine students’ abilities and schools are advised to organize training for teachers on effective strategies and methods of teaching writing. This training should include the use of technology, creative appproaches and assessment methods in accordance with merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Profil pembelajaran IPA berbasis SSI dan kesadaran lingkungan siswa di SMA Swasta kabupaten Banyumas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dekriptif kualitatif dengan Metode survey. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuisioner, wawancara, dan observasi, Data dianalisis dengan teknik presentase. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah SMA swasta di kabupaten Banyumas, sample diambil dengan teknik Cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dalam pembelajaran IPA berbasis SSI dengan persentase 85% termasuk kategori tinggi yang artinya guru di SMA swasta di kabupaten Banyumas sudah menerapkan pembelajaran SSI. Hasil Enviromental Awarness siswa di SMA swasta kabupaten Banyumas dengan persentase 70% termasuk kategori sedang yang artinya siswa SMA swasta di kabupaten Banyumas sudah cukup memiliki kesadaran lingkungan, ada beberapa hal yang perlu ditingkatkan terhadap kesadaran lingkungan siswa anatara lain menunjukan sikap peduli terhadap kerusakan dan kesehatan lingkungan, sikap rasa keingnitahuan terhadap upaya pelestarian linkgungan, dan kritis dalam menyelesaikan masalah lingkungan.

Abstract

On August 11st, 2022, In the ever-evolving digital era, the utilization of technology for educational purposes is becoming increasingly important. One of the latest innovations is the development of an Android app-based English learning media specifically designed to introduce basic concepts about three types of animals based on their food types. This study evaluates the impact of Articulate Storyline-based interactive learning media on grade 4 students. The results showed that the use of this media provided a number of benefits for students. They did not feel bored during the learning process and were able to distinguish three types of animals based on their food. This media also encourages independent and explorative learning, increases student engagement through interactive features, and helps teachers deliver material more effectively. Therefore, the use of this interactive learning media can be an effective solution to improve the quality of learning at the primary school level This app not only serves as a language learning tool, but also as an educational tool that invites users to understand the differences between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores in an interactive and engaging way. Through interactive features such as exercises and quizzes, users can access this learning material easily on their Android devices, making the learning process more effective and fun.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which the Jigsaw cooperative learning model, assisted by the Wordwall application, affects the formation of citizenship competence in the subject of the Youth Pledge within the framework of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. The research method used quasi-experimental with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample includes Grade VIII A as the control group (n=35) and Grade VIII B as the experimental group (n=35). Data collection techniques included tests, questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, analyzed using the Paired Sample Test and Independent Sample T-Test with a significance level of 5%, resulting in 0.000 0.05, indicating that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by the Wordwall application is effective in developing students' citizenship competence. The results show a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Citizenship knowledge improved to 86% in the experimental group compared to 76% in the control group, citizenship skills to 86% compared to 76%, and citizenship attitudes or character to 79% compared to 64%. The Effect Size test result was 2.166, categorized as a high effect. This is evidenced by the study's findings that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by the Wordwall application significantly affects students' citizenship competence in the subject of the Youth Pledge within the framework of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika at SMP Muhammadiyah Bumiayu.

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul Pemanfaatan Situs Batu Tulis Sebagai Sumber Belajar Sejarah di Desa Cipaku, Kecamatan Mrebet, Kabupaten Purbalingga, ini memiliki tujuan untuk: (1) Menganalisis sejarah Situs Batu Tulis di Desa Cipaku, Kecamatan Mrebet, Kabupaten Purbalingga, (2) Mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan Situs Batu Tulis sebagai sumber belajar sejarah di Desa Cipaku, Kecamatan Mrebet, Kabupaten Purbalingga, (3) Menguraikan strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemanfaatan Situs Batu Tulis sebagai sumber belajar sejarah di Desa Cipaku, Kecamatan Mrebet, Kabupaten Purbalingga. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif yang meliputi 4 langkah penelitian yaitu: (1) Pengumpulan data (data collection) dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi, (2) Reduksi data (data reduction) merangkum dan memilih hal-hal pokok serta memfokuskan pada hal-hal penting, (3) Penyajian data (data display) dilakukan dengan teks yang bersifat naratif, (4) Penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi (conclusion drawing/verification). Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Situs Batu Tulis merupakan peninggalan bersejarah yang diteliti pada tahun 1983 oleh Drs. Kusen dari Fakultas Sastra UGM Jurusan Arkeologi buyinya “Indrawardhaya Wikramadewa”, (2) Pemanfaatan Situs Batu Tulis digunakan sebagai kepentingan akademik khususnya sebagai sumber belajar sejarah, kepentingan religius, ritual, (3) strategi yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemanfaatan Situs Batu Tulis yaitu dengan mengangkat keberadaan situs tersebut.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to scrutinize how students in the English Language Department distinguish derivational morphemes and inflectional morphemes using narrative text. Consequently, student’s obstacles in distinguishing between both of bound morphemes. Qualitative methods are employed to this research with a descriptive approach to collect and analyze derivational and inflectional morphemes. The findings revealed a total of fifty-three derivational and inflectional morphemes, comprising fifteen derivational morphemes and thirty-eight inflectional morphemes. In terms of comprehension, EFL students score 66.5 in derivational morphemes, falling under the C category, indicating a good level of understanding. For inflectional morphemes, students achieve a score of 89, placing them in the A category, signifying a very good understanding. Regarding the obstacles, students face in comprehending derivational morphemes and inflectional morphemes the main challenges are the lack of vocabulary and the lack of grammar, which make it difficult for EFL students to know word class changes and grammar function changes.

Abstract

In a globalized era, the transformative impact of technology on language education, particularly through platforms like TikTok, has become increasingly significant. This systematic literature review aims to assess the effectiveness of TikTok as a medium for enhancing English speaking skills. Acknowledging the paradigm shift caused by digital communication tools, especially social media, this review addresses the existing gap in comprehensive research on TikTok's efficacy as an educational tool in the context of English language instruction. Driven by the increasing commonness of TikTok in daily communication and its potential for creating dynamic and interactive learning environments, this study critically examines the impact of TikTok on the development of students' language skills and proficiency. The study adopts a critical viewpoint to evaluate innovative approaches utilizing technology in language education, highlighting TikTok's effectiveness in English speaking skills. The findings aim to critically contribute valuable insights for educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers, challenging assumptions and providing nuanced perspectives on the implications of incorporating TikTok into English language education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing 21st-century creative thinking competencies on National Identity and Culture. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consists of Grade VIII A as the experimental group and Grade VIII B as the control group. Data collection techniques used tests, questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using paired sample tests and independent sample t-tests, indicating a result of 0.000 (p 0.05); the Project-Based Learning model effectively enhances students' creative thinking. This is further evidenced by the N-Gain test results, with the experimental group achieving 57% in the moderately effective category and the control group achieving 20% in the ineffective category. Additionally, the effect size test results show a value of 4.456663, which falls into the very high category.

Abstract

Anak usia dini memiliki cara yang unik dalam mempelajari sesuatu yang tentunya berbeda dengan orang dewasa. Seorang anak pada dasarnya tidak memahami bahwa yang dilakukannya saat bermain adalah sebuah kegiatan yang bagi orang tua dianggap sebagai kegiatan belajar. Bermain sambil belajar merupakan kegiatan yang dilakukan seorang anak usia dini yang dilakukan dengan perasaan senang, tanpa paksaan, namun memiliki pola-pola yang diharapkan mampu menciptakan hasil guna perkembangan baik bagi diri anak. Bermain juga merupakan sarana bagi anak guna menyalurkan energinya yang besar dan menemukan hal-hal baru yang sebelumnya belum diketahuinya dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Dan hal ini tentu berbeda dengan belajar yang dipahami orang dewasa dengan segala aturan dan tuntutan di akhirnya. Bermain (sambil belajar) pada anak usia dini mempunyai tujuan yang mungkin tidak disadari oleh orang dewasa, dimana saat anak bermain, sebenarnya ia sedang mengembangkan potensi yang terdapat dalam dirinya guna menjadi modal awal yang kokoh bagi dirinya di masa depan saat menghadapi permasalahan dalam hidup. Tulisan ini diharapkan memberikan referensi dan edukasi kepada orang tua dan guru paud khususnya untuk bisa memahami dunia anak usia dini salah satunya dengan memahami hakekat bermain dan makna bermain bagi anak usia dini. Hal ini diperoleh dengan mengesplorasi berbagai sumber dari beberapa literatur dari hasil penelitian dan pemikiran di mana hasilnya dapat digunakan bagi orang tua dan guru paud agar lebih tepat dalam mendampingi dan mendesain pembelajaran bagi anak usia dini sehingga mutiara pembelajaran paud yaitu bermain sambil belajar dapat tercapai.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent of the effect of the social media platform TikTok on civic disposition. The research employs a descriptive analysis method with a quantitative approach. The sample consists of students from MAN 2 Banyumas (n=193). Data collection techniques include questionnaires, literature review, documentation, observation, and interviews. The study's findings reveal that TikTok significantly affects students' civic disposition, with a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.05), indicating a moderate effect size of 0.521%. This is evidenced by the research findings highlighting suboptimal student discipline, weak responsibility in task submission, and inconsistent adherence to school rules among the students.
