Abstract

Along with the advancement of technology, it brings updates in the digital world, namely the reality of the additional world or Augmented Reality (AR). The application of AR has now been applied in various fields, especially in education. This is because the presence of AR makes the learning process fun. One of the basic learning is reading. However, unfortunately sometimes reading through book media becomes quite boring. For children, now the use of smartphones has become something close and common, so that reading books becomes less interesting because it only displays still images. Therefore, this study was conducted to create an interesting book by combining AR technology. The use of this technology aims to develop children's story books based on Augmented Reality (AR) with 3D animation to increase literacy interest in children aged 6-8 years. This study has succeeded in creating a children's story book entitled The Adventures of Budi and Wati, as well as a mobile application with Android OS and has successfully displayed 3D animation from book illustration images. In this study, data collection was used with literature studies in various sources. The process of creating this 3D animation was carried out in 3 stages of production. Pre-production, Production, and Post-production. In the pre-production stage, the research team carried out story idea and script preparation activities, in the production process, the development process, 3D animation development and AR application development were carried out. In the post-production stage, the product trial process was carried out on several devices. The results showed that the application could be run, but on Android products with OS version 14. Even so, the application product can run well on Android OS 14 and display animations smoothly. AR technology presents characters and stories in interactive visual form, so that children are more enthusiastic about getting involved in reading. The application of this technology not only encourages reading interest, but also stimulates children's creativity and imagination through a more enjoyable and immersive reading experience.

Abstract

The goods delivery service industry has emerged as a strategic business both during and after the pandemic. The shift towards online shopping, which became a norm during the pandemic, let’s continue post-pandemic, making it a promising sector for companies involved in goods delivery. However, the industry faces challenges, particularly related to security during shipment. One common issue is the inability to track vehicle positions, leading to unauthorized loading and unloading activities at incorrect locations, causing losses for business owners. Conventional mechanical locks are vulnerable to theft, duplication, key loss, and vandalism, making them inadequate for securing cargo. To address these issues, Smart Lock technology has been developed, offering enhanced security through modern, integrated features. This technology eliminates the need for physical keys, reducing the risk of loss, and allows for remote access management. Additionally, it enables cargo owners to monitor the vehicle's position and control the lock remotely. Given these advancements, there is a need to explore Tracking Systems for delivery vehicles, incorporating automatic locks controlled via Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Based on the measurement, the tracking system tool testing was carried out at 5 different locations. The distances are 2.9 km, 6.4 km, 3 km, 7.1 km, 4.7 km from campus. The GPS signal is sent to the cloud server Cloud of Jointech. Data transmission uses the GSM network. There is a delay difference of 2-3 seconds from the GPS time signal compared to the time data displayed on the website. The data provided from the GPS signal is updated every 20 seconds. Based on the 5 test locations that have been set, the on/off lock test has been successfully carried out.

Abstract

The demand for vegetables in Batubara Regency is extremely high. Currently, the supply of vegetables is still imported from Tanah Karo and Deli Serdang Regency. This is due to the geographical condition of Batubara Regency which is in a coastal area. The majority of their people work in the fisheries sector. This opportunity was taken by our partner from SMK T. Amir Hamzah Indrapura by building greenhouse to produce vegetables. However, there are obstacles, namely the partner does not have a cheap source of electricity to increase the production of hydroponic vegetables. Therefore, it is necessary to build an alternative electricity source in the form of a solar power plant. It saves monthly electricity costs at the greenhouse. An environmental monitoring system needs to be built at the greenhouse to maintain and monitor the parameters that affect the growth requirements of hydroponic vegetables such as temperature, humidity, and lighting.

Abstract

This research focuses on the development of a route optimization application designed to help motorcycle users reduce fuel consumption. Leveraging the Google Maps API and the A* algorithm, the application identifies the most efficient routes by analyzing factors such as road distance, traffic conditions, and elevation. The system is tailored to benefit motorcyclists, both those using carburetors and fuel injection systems, who frequently face fuel inefficiency due to improper route selection. By integrating real-time data from Google Maps, the application provides users with optimal route recommendations that not only minimize fuel usage but also reduce travel time. The A* algorithm was selected due to its high efficiency in determining the shortest paths by considering multiple variables simultaneously. Through simulations and testing, the system demonstrates significant potential to improve navigation efficiency, particularly for long-distance commuters. This solution is expected to contribute to cost savings and more environmentally friendly transportation choices.

Abstract

Currently, ruminant livestock, poultry and fish are increasingly using processed feed. It occurs due to the nutritional content can be adjusted to the needs. A lot of livestock will require a lot of feed, so a tool is needed that can mass produce the required feed. This processed feed is a mixture of several components that can be purchased individually. A motorized mixer is needed to save time and energy while reducing costs. The existing mixer has several shortcomings, such as the absence of a water supply device, a mixture that cannot be poured and a mixing spoon in the form of a flat plate so that the splint is less strong and the mixing process tends to be longer. The resulting prototype has a water supply pump, a pourable mixture, and an elbow-shaped agitator. Observations of the experimental results showed that the agitator material could move more toward the end so that the mixing process was faster. The mixed material became homogeneous in 5 minutes and perfect in the 10th minute for all experiments conducted.

Abstract

A slope is a land surface that slopes and forms a certain angle to a horizontal plane. In a place where there are two land surfaces of different heights, there will be forces that push so that the higher ground tends to move downwards which is called the potential force of gravity which causes landslides. Landslides on a slope can cause loss of life and property and can hamper the economy of an area. Cantilever walls are often used as retaining walls to avoid landslides. The cost used in the construction of cantilever wall retaining walls is quite expensive. For cost efficiency of the cantilever wall construction, it is necessary to use cantilever wall reinforcement using wire rope sling. In this study, cantilever wall retaining walls were modelled with or without the use of wire rope slings. The research location is Jl. Gelugur Rimbun, Ps x Kutalimbaru Kab. Deli Serdang. Based on the results of laboratory testing, the soil classification at the location is clay (CL). According to the analysis, the use of wire rope slings contributes to an increase in the factor of safety (FS) of overturning by 12.500% - 50.026%. While increasing the factor of safety (FS) sliding by 4.165% - 16.627%. An increase in the factor of safety (FS) bearing capacity of 17.222% - 36.109%. The greatest effect of the use of wire rope slings occurs in overturning stability by 50.026%. The use of wire rope slings can reduce the dimensions of cantilever retaining walls.
