Abstract

Muhammadiyah Senior Care Probolinggo has held the community service program in order to fulfil this need by providing Islamic religious guidance as intervention for elderly residents in an effort to improve mental health, spiritual well-being, and social quality of life. Direct engagements served as the main method of penetration, allowing elderly to immerse themselves in the details and experience profound actions during three aspects (aqidah, ibadah, and akhlaq). The participants were comforted in aqidah now after being introduced to the compassionate attributes of Allah, i.e. merciful, and their fears of death started alleviating slowly as a result. Sessions of worship were held along with instructions on how to perform salah and opportunities for congregational prayer and dhikr (remembrance of Allah), forming a bond between the residents spiritually, as well as socially. Guidance of Ethics was to advance a harmonic interaction among care-centre, frequently conflicts were going on, so to merge people within peace and respect. Participatory Action Research (PAR) was applied in the study where the elderly residents actively participated as subjects of the guidance program. Three main phases — pre-guidance, guidance, and post-intervention — were followed in this methodology. The entire process consists of the initial stage by an observation and needs assessment by the guidance through previous meetings with the residence, then based on their history and condition material is designed that best suits them. This was held face to face both as a group and on individual basis in order for the material to be delivered at a pace that fits the capacity of participants. The group sessions were a good way to get people talking, and the individual sessions allowed for more depth and context. The last step was to evaluate the responses of participants and their progression to prepare a report that could be useful for similar programs. Its success is also due to the fact that it was not mandatory, and elderly were motivated to participate. Adaptive techniques like visual and audio methods or personal support helped facilitate understanding, although variability in educational backgrounds or physical limitations posed challenges. Tell the story of Prophets regularly, to draw inspiration from such events, which would assist the adults in absorbing faith-based principles practically. Such beneficial service helps the hawa nafsu of the elderly so that their spirit life can be well maintained in creating a harmonious atmosphere to prepare for the final phase of their life, with the hope of giving rise to Husnul Khotimah. Such a model may offer hope for other similar institutions in the years to come

Abstract

Cultivation of religious values religious values is one of the important steps to improve the religiosity of Children with Special Needs (ABK). This community service program aims to help children with disabilities at the Ananda Mutiara Indonesia Foundation, Probolinggo Branch in understanding, appreciating, and practicing religious values. Abstract

A teacher, not just having the main activities and duties but as a teacher, also has another task that is no less important, known as a student of knowledge. Teaching is a routine activity and is normal for a teacher, but as a student of knowledge, a teacher is required to always improve his knowledge and abilities through writing a scientific paper. Writing scientific papers has several stages that must be passed, especially those used to raise the school's brand image. The Community Service Program which was carried out at the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership propaganda building in Probolinggo City was attended by 20 participants who were teachers who taught at Muhammadiyah schools ranging from elementary schools to high schools throughout the city of Probolinggo. The method used in this service is through seminars, namely by providing knowledge through lectures, discussions and questions and answers. The results of the seminars conducted showed that there was an increase in understanding, insight, and knowledge in planning, implementing and preparing materials for writing scientific papers. To write scientific papers, a teacher really needs to do plan management, time management, and evaluation management so that they can deal with busy teaching and various other additional tasks.

Abstract

The entrepreneurship training program for beginners in Krucil Village, Probolinggo Regency, was designed to enhance the community’s understanding of entrepreneurship concepts while encouraging them to start new businesses. This training employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving the community in every stage of the program. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding, increasing from 20% before the training to 85% afterward. Additionally, within a month after the training, 40% of participants successfully started new businesses, with snack production (35%) and handicrafts (25%) being the most chosen business sectors. Participants who started businesses reported an average income increase of 20%. The training also motivated participants to actively seek other business opportunities, focusing on utilizing local potential such as agricultural products and natural village resources. However, to ensure the program's long-term impact, further efforts are needed, including business mentoring, access to financing, and more specific advanced training tailored to the participants' business needs. With an integrated and sustainable approach, the Krucil Village community is expected to achieve greater economic independence and optimize local potential sustainably. This success also serves as an inspiration for developing economic empowerment programs in other villages with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Abstract Islamic character education plays a crucial role in shaping children's morals, ethics, and behavior, especially for those living in orphanages. Orphaned children often face limitations in access to education and family guidance, making it necessary to implement effective and interactive learning methods to instill Islamic values. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Islamic character education programs at Al-Musthofa Orphanage through activities such as communal Quran recitation, listening to prophetic stories, reading books from a mini library, and writing hopes on a "tree of hope." This research employs a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that Quran recitation activities enhance children's ability to read and understand the Quran, listening to prophetic stories helps them emulate the attitudes and behaviors of the Prophet, the mini library fosters an Islamic literacy culture, and the tree of hope provides motivation and optimism for the children in facing the future. The study concludes that experience-based and participatory learning methods are effective in building Islamic character among orphaned children. Therefore, similar approaches can be implemented in other orphanages to enhance Islamic character education on a broader scale. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term impact of this program and to develop technology-based methods as tools for Islamic character education. Anak-anak panti asuhan sering kali menghadapi keterbatasan dalam akses pendidikan dan bimbingan keluarga, sehingga diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang efektif dan interaktif untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai keislaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas program pendidikan karakter Islami di Panti Asuhan Al-Musthofa melalui kegiatan mengaji bersama, mendengarkan kisah Nabi, membaca buku dari perpustakaan mini, serta menuliskan harapan di pohon harapan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan mengaji bersama meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan memahami Al-Qur’an, mendengarkan kisah Nabi membantu anak-anak meneladani sikap dan perilaku Rasulullah, perpustakaan mini menumbuhkan budaya literasi Islami, serta pohon harapan memberikan motivasi dan optimisme bagi anak-anak dalam menghadapi masa depan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa metode pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman dan partisipatif terbukti efektif dalam membangun karakter Islami pada anak-anak panti asuhan. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan serupa dapat diterapkan di berbagai panti asuhan lainnya untuk meningkatkan pendidikan karakter Islami secara lebih luas. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak jangka panjang dari program ini serta mengembangkan metode berbasis teknologi sebagai alat bantu pendidikan karakter Islami. Abstract

Masyarakat pedesaan di Indonesia seringkali menghadapi tantangan ekonomi yang signifikan, termasuk keterbatasan lapangan kerja dan rendahnya pendapatan. Salah satu potensi yang dapat dikembangkan untuk mengatasi masalah ini adalah pemanfaatan sumber daya alam lokal, seperti tanaman obat. Jahe merah (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) merupakan tanaman obat yang memiliki nilai ekonomi dan khasiat kesehatan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat Desa Kalianget-Besuki, Kecamatan Banyuglugur, Kabupaten Situbondo, melalui pengolahan jamu jahe merah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang melibatkan 10 peserta (fasilitator, tokoh masyarakat, dan 8 warga) dalam seluruh tahapan penelitian, mulai dari identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proyek ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam pengolahan jamu jahe merah yang higienis dan bernilai jual. Meskipun data kuantitatif yang presisi belum tersedia, proyeksi berdasarkan studi kasus serupa menunjukkan potensi peningkatan pendapatan yang signifikan bagi peserta. Selain itu, proyek ini juga meningkatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat, membangun jaringan sosial, dan menumbuhkan optimisme baru. Tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan bahan baku dan pemasaran. Kesimpulannya, pengolahan jamu jahe merah memiliki potensi besar untuk memberdayakan ekonomi masyarakat Kalianget-Besuki, namun diperlukan dukungan berkelanjutan, terutama dalam penyediaan bahan baku, peningkatan kualitas produk, dan perluasan pasar.

Abstract

The health issues faced by communities are often caused by a lack of knowledge and awareness of healthy living practices. This study aims to enhance community awareness and participation through an education and empowerment-based service program. The methods employed include training, workshops, and outreach activities that involve active participation from the community. The results of the program indicate a significant increase in community knowledge and behavior regarding health issues, evidenced by the rising participation in health check-ups and the adoption of healthy practices in daily life. The implications of this research demonstrate that collaborative and participatory approaches are effective in empowering communities and supporting the sustainability of health programs. Additionally, these findings serve as a foundation for developing more relevant and responsive community service programs that address the evolving needs of society in the future. Abstract

The curriculum plays a fundamental role in determining the direction and achievement of educational goals. The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to emphasize the formation of the Pancasila Student Profile, one of the implementations of which is carried out through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). In the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), teachers play a crucial role in ensuring its success in educational units. Therefore, this community service activity is held in the form of training to provide a deeper understanding of the development of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in Probolinggo City as a preparatory step for educational units and teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. This training is designed in several stages including preparation, implementation, and evaluation to determine the success of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) development training program. This activity was attended by supervisors from the Probolinggo City Education and Culture Office, school principals, and teachers from various kindergarten institutions in the Mayangan District, Probolinggo City. The results of this activity show an increase in participants' understanding of the concept and implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), and provide real benefits for participants in applying the Independent Curriculum in their educational units.

Abstract

Tidur dengan kualitas yang baik mampu untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak usia dini secara optimal. Gangguan tidur pada anak usia dini menjadi tantangan bagi orang tua karena dapat memengaruhi emosi dan kenyamanan anak usia dini. Anak usia dini yang emosinya stabil cenderung memiliki pertumbuhan fisik yang baik, lebih mudah diberi makan, dan lebih responsif dalam berkomunikasi. Hal ini membantu memperkaya pengetahuan, kreativitas anak usia dini dan kemandirian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menambah pengetahuan orang tua tentang pentingnya kualitas tidur pada anak. Sasaran dalam program kemitraan masyarakat ini adalah orang tua dan anak usia 4-6 tahun yang bersekolah di TK Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah, Kraksaan, Probolinggo sejumlah 50 orang. Responden diberikan edukasi tentang dampak kualitas tidur 4-6 tahun terhadap kemandirian. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan adalah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan pada orang tua yang sebelumnya berada pada kategori kurang meningkat menjadi kategori baik.

Abstract

Publishing scientific articles in reputable international journals such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) poses significant challenges for academics and practitioners in Indonesia. Many of them encounter obstacles in understanding writing standards, selecting appropriate journals, and navigating the peer review process. These limitations have resulted in low acceptance rates for articles in prestigious journals. Therefore, strategic efforts through Community Service Programs (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat or PKM) are necessary to enhance the capacity of academics in writing and publishing scientific articles. The PKM activity aimed to improve the understanding and readiness of academics and practitioners for publication in reputable journals through a scientific article writing workshop. The methodology employed a participatory approach using interactive workshop formats, which included material presentations, writing practice sessions, and direct mentoring. A total of 25 participants engaged in the full-day event. Workshop results demonstrated that most participants experienced a significant increase in understanding regarding scientific article writing structure, strategies for journal selection, and article submission processes. Additionally, participants gained increased confidence in addressing review and revision procedures. The implications of this activity highlight the need for continuous support to ensure academics can effectively apply the knowledge acquired in scientific publications. The recommendation from this Community Service Program is to develop more comprehensive programs with longer durations and more intensive guidance. By doing so, academics and practitioners can continuously improve the quality of their scientific publications, ultimately enhancing academic competitiveness at the global level.
