Abstract

This study uses a quantitative design and purposive sampling. This study uses a quantitative design and purposive sampling technique to investigate the influence of Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM) factors on customer intentions to switch from Shopee to TikTok, two popular shopping platforms in Indonesia. Variables were measured using a 6-point Likert scale, and data were analyzed using SEM PLS version 4. This study found no significant effect of push, pull, and mooring factors on the intention of Indonesian buyers to switch from Shopee to TikTok. However, the study found a link between switching intentions and actual behavior, suggesting that Indonesian customers' platform switching dynamics differ from other countries. Future research needs to explore other factors that affect the desire to switch and investigate the variables affected by push, pull, and mooring factors. It would also be useful to consider other methods for measuring intention to switch between e-commerce and social commerce and expand the study to include all e-commerce applications in Indonesia or other topics.

Abstract

The Nigerian economic situation has affected the people’s job preferences badly, and this situation necessitated their engagement in the moonlighting practice. Despite efforts by the government to alleviate poverty, which is ravaging the people, it is becoming alarming that individuals who are earning decent income have embraced moonlighting. The study examined the effect of small and medium enterprises moonlighting on the service delivery of employees in Kwara State public service. A survey research design was used, while the target population is 844, from which a sample size of 271 was obtained through the Taro Yamane (1967) formula. A multistage sampling technique was adopted, and a primary source was used to collect data with the aid of a well-structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale that consists of five items. Data were analyzed using the generalized linear model (GLM) and the business predictive model (BPM). On the basis of the individual statistical significance of the variables as indicated by the p-values in the model, all dimensions of SMEs passed their test of significance at 5% levels with respect to the task accomplishment (p<0.05) and service delivery (p<0.05) of employees involved in SMEs moonlighting. Thus, efficiency is greatly lost for moonlighters engaged in small and medium enterprises. About 44.8% reduction in task accomplishment (?=0.448, t0.05>1.96). The study concluded that moonlighters who engaged in SMEs activities impacted significant improvements in employee efficiency.

Abstract

A work system is one of the important aspects that must be owned by private companies or government institutions to regulate and manage the performance of their employees in achieving organizational goals. Private companies and government institutions are two different organizations and of course have different work systems. This encouraged researchers to conduct research with the title comparative study of the effectiveness of the work systems of private companies and government institutions in Jabodetabek. The aim of this research is to compare the effectiveness of work systems between private companies and government institutions in Jabodetabek. The research method used is qualitative with a library approach so that the data collection technique is carried out by collecting various documents that are appropriate to the research focus and then carrying out in-depth analysis. The research results show that the work system of private companies is more effective than that of government institutions. because the scope of work of private companies is smaller than the scope of work of government institutions where regulations or rules are more binding and difficult to change or adapt to needs. If there are regulations that need to be changed, it will take longer, even though currently the government has made various efforts to provide the best performance that is more effective compared to the previous period.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the factors that have influenced the performance of Indonesian companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange's LQ45 stock index during the COVID-19 pandemic, spanning the period from 2017 to 2022. The study is divided into two main periods: the period preceding the pandemic (2017-2019) and the period following the pandemic (2020-2022). The coefficient of determination (R²) is employed to ascertain the extent to which independent variables, including liquidity, leverage, profitability, activity, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, company size, and company age, can explain variations in the dependent variable, namely company performance. The results demonstrate that leverage has a significant negative impact on company performance, whereas managerial ownership does not affect both groups. Conversely, institutional ownership exerts a positive and significant influence on firm performance. This study offers insights into the factors that can be regulated or monitored to maintain the company's stability and growth. Additionally, it enhances knowledge of firms' ability to survive in challenging economic conditions and provides implications for regulators and investors.
