Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how dividend policy is affected by life cycle, investment opportunity set, profitability, leverage, and free cash flow equity in companies that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and are involved in property, real estate, and building construction. In this study, the Panel Data Regression Model with Random Effect Model is used. The findings indicate that life cycle has a significant and beneficial impact on dividend policy, whereas leverage has a significant and negative impact at a significance level of 0.05. At a significance level of 0.1, profitability, on the other hand, exhibits a positive and significant influence. However, there is a slight but favorable impact on dividend policy from free cash flow equity and investment opportunity set.

Abstract

Competition in the healthcare industry is increasing, requiring hospitals to provide better services to retain patients. Patient loyalty is a crucial factor in a hospital's sustainability and is influenced by various aspects, including patient experience and patient engagement. This study aims to analyze the influence of patient experience and patient engagement on patient loyalty, with inpatient satisfaction as an intervening variable at Latersia Hospital Binjai. A quantitative method with the Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was used. The results indicate that patient experience and patient engagement have a positive and significant effect on patient satisfaction, which subsequently influences patient loyalty. The better the patient’s experience and engagement in their care, the higher their satisfaction, leading to increased loyalty to the hospital. Additionally, patient satisfaction serves as a mediating variable, strengthening the relationship between patient experience, patient engagement, and patient loyalty. This study contributes to the development of strategies for improving hospital services, focusing on enhancing patient experience and engagement to increase satisfaction and loyalty. Understanding the factors that influence patient loyalty enables hospitals to enhance their competitiveness and deliver higher-quality healthcare services to the community.

Abstract

Gamification has become a key strategy used by ride-hailing platforms in regulating and controlling driver behavior through mission elements, points, levels, performance, ratings, challenges and rewards designed to increase driver engagement in work. This study explores in depth how gamification mechanisms affect the working conditions of Gojek and Grab drivers in Medan. The research method used is qualitative with an interpretivist epistemology approach, in-depth interviews with 16 drivers and analyzed with Nvivo12 software. The research findings reveal that drivers face very long working hours with an average of 14 hours per day, while their income is uncertain due to the nature of gig work and gamification mechanisms that prioritize drivers with the highest performance levels. In addition, the work environment is also not entirely safe, given the security risks in Medan and the potential for suspension by the platform based on customer assessments that are often subjective. The gamification system implemented by the platform forms an unequal power relationship between the company and the driver, the platform has great control over the work process, mission access, which has an impact on the driver's income. This creates high work pressure, income uncertainty, and strong dependence on the platform, thus blurring claims of freedom in the gig economy and indicating hidden exploitation. The study also found that bottom-up gamification based on solidarity between drivers can be an alternative solution to create fairer working conditions, although its implementation is still difficult due to internal divisions among Medan drivers. This finding emphasizes the importance of state presence and regulation to eliminate the vulnerability of workers in the gig economy which is further exacerbated by one-sided gamification mechanisms and unequal power relations between platforms and workers.

Abstract

Employee performance is a key element in determining the success of an organization, especially in regional companies engaged in public services such as PERUMDA Tirtanadi Medan. As a provider of clean water services for the people of Medan City and its surroundings, the quality and continuity of service are highly dependent on the effectiveness and efficiency of its employees. Employee performance at PERUMDA Tirtanadi Medan is not optimal, indicated by many employees who still get sufficient, moderate and poor scores in the annual performance assessment. Suboptimal performance at PERUMDA Tirtanadi Medan has disrupted clean water services to the community, increased customer complaints, and decreased public trust in the quality of the company's services. Employees who have optimal performance can encourage the achievement of organizational goals. Many factors cause decreased performance, including work discipline, work environment, work motivation and job satisfaction. This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline and work motivation on employee performance mediated by job satisfaction. This research was conducted on 154 non-leadership employees at PERUMDA Tirtanadi Medan. Data analysis used in this research is outer model and inner model with SmartPLS software. The results revealed that the factor that most influences the performance of PDAM Tirtanadi Medan employees is employee motivation, the second is the work environment, the third is work discipline and the last mediating factor is job satisfaction. Furthermore, the factors that most influence job satisfaction of PDAM Tirtanadi Medan employees are work environment, second work motivation, and third work discipline. For mediating factors that most affect employee performance through job satisfaction of PDAM Tirtanadi Medan employees, namely work motivation, second work discipline, and the third is the employee work environment.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of regeneration and external knowledge on business sustainability in the Tanggulangin cracker MSME in Sidoarjo Regency, by implementing innovation practices as a modification. This study uses a quantitative research approach and asks questions to 65 respondents who are MSME actors who have a perspective on the business regeneration succession process and regularly participate in training activities organized by the local government. By using SmartPLS 4.0 to analyze the data, the findings show that regeneration and external knowledge have a significant positive effect on business sustainability. This finding is consistent with the Theory of Planned Behavior, which states that intention is a function of three determinants: the first is personal, the second reflects social influences, and the third is related to control with problems. Intention plays a unique role in directing action, serving as a link between a person's deep beliefs and desires and specific actions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of green advertising, corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity, eco-label, and perceived value on purchase decisions, with green trust as a mediating variable in bottled drinking water (AMDK) consumers. This study uses a quantitative approach with a non-probability sampling method and a purposive sampling technique. The population in this study were bottled drinking water consumers domiciled in the DKI Jakarta area, and the sample used were respondents who had consumed bottled drinking water, with a total of 133 respondents. Data collection was carried out through an online questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM–PLS) method through SmartPLS software. The results of this study indicate that all independent variables, namely green advertising, CSR activity, eco-label, and perceived value, have a positive and significant influence on green trust. In addition, the green trust variable also has a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions. Furthermore, green trust is proven to play a significant role as a mediating variable in the relationship between green advertising, CSR activity, eco-label, and perceived value on purchase decisions.
