Abstract

Armed conflict has caused a lot of loss, damage and destruction of a country's cultural heritage. This writing aims to see and explain what International Humanitarian Law provides protection for cultural heritage in conflict. Even though the protection of cultural objects has been regulated through various international conventions, there are behaviors that cause the destruction of these cultural objects in countries in conflict. To obtain data, library research was carried out by studying and analyzing conventions, books, newspapers, scientific writings and relevant literature both online and offline. Then the analysis is carried out using the content analysis method by focusing on what issues are effective in protecting International Humanitarian Law in protecting cultural heritage in conflict areas. The research results show that cultural objects are the identity and cultural heritage of society, so attacks on these objects often increase the escalation of conflict. Attacks by air bombs, bullets and long-range missiles can damage cultural objects as a result of armed conflict.

Abstract

Mediation is a process where an individual serves as a mediator to facilitate communication between the parties in dispute, allowing their differing perspectives on the issue to be understood and potentially resolved. Mediation that results in a peace agreement will represent a full resolution since the outcome does not rely on a win or lose approach. Reaching a settlement via the mediation process offers numerous advantages for the parties involved; the time involved will lower costs, making it more economical. From an emotional standpoint, mediation settlements can bring relief to the parties, as the terms of agreement are established by the parties themselves based on their preferences. Mediation has essentially been around for a long time, as the approach to resolving conflicts in society typically employs the concept of mediation. Mediation is an action taken by an individual to settle a conflict between two or more parties through negotiation in order to achieve peace. When an unbiased and neutral external entity collaborates with the conflicting parties to assist them in achieving a resolution. The assumption is that an external party can alter the intensity and social dynamics of the conflict relationship by impacting the beliefs and actions of the involved parties, by offering knowledge and information, or by employing the negotiation process. In settling conflicts via mediation, it is anticipated that the involved parties can typically come to a mutual agreement, ensuring that the advantages of mediation are significantly experienced. Essentially, Mediation allows the parties to engage directly and informally in settling their conflicts. Mediation reports are categorized as successful, unsuccessful, and non-implementable mediation.

Abstract

Land grants to adopted children are an important legal issue in the context of civil law in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the validity of grants given to adopted children and their legal implications. According to Article 1866 of the Civil Code, a grant is a grant made by the grantor to the recipient of the grant without compensation. In the context of adopted children, even though they are not related by blood to the adoptive parents, their legal status is recognized as equal to that of biological children, so grants given to them can be considered valid as long as they meet the formal and material requirements established by law. However, there are legal challenges related to the implications of land grants to adopted children, especially when other heirs are involved. The grant deed made by the Land Deed Making Officer (PPAT) must consider the approval of other heirs so as not to cause disputes in the future. This study uses normative juridical methods to explore various regulations governing grants and the rights of adopted children in the context of inheritance. The results of the study show that while grants for adopted children can be made, it is important to pay attention to the legality aspects and potential conflicts that may arise as a result of the cancellation of the grant by the adoptive parents or claims from other heirs

Abstract

Finding out how the macro and micro economies affect Indonesia's economic growth is the aim of this study. The problem with the national economy is the scope of macroeconomics. There will surely be difficulties when a country's economy expands. The nation's state governments must address that impediment since it is an internal problem. The problems of inflation and unemployment cannot be separated from the problems of Indonesia's population size and quality due to a variety of obstacles. Of course, an autonomous nation implements its policies to deal with these problems. Whether a policy is successful or not, it is something to aim for. A skilled labor force capable of importing and exporting goods that can make the nation visible to the rest of the world can support the country's economic growth.

Abstract

Social media has now become an integral part of society. However, its usage also carries detrimental effects, including the fear of missing out (FoMO). FoMO is the apprehension of being uninformed about an event and can affect individuals of various ages, including high school students. During adolescence, individuals generally develop multiple aspects of their identity, including self-concept. This study was conducted to determine the extent of FoMO's influence on the self-concept of high school students. A non-experimental quantitative method was used. The instruments used were the Fear of Missing Out Scale and the Personal Self-Concept Questionnaire. The study subjects consisted of 1,114 high school students in Jakarta who had been using social media for at least the past three months. The findings revealed that 18,2% of participants had a low level of FoMO, 66,5% moderate, and 15,3% high. Regarding self-concept, 11,5% of participants scored low, 87% moderate, and 1,5% high. The hypothesis that FoMO affects self-concept was supported, with an effect size of 31.3% and the regression equation Y = 60,461 – 0,348X. This equation implies that a 1% increase in FoMO leads to a 0.348 decrease in self-concept. Conversely, in the absence of an increase in FoMO, the self-concept score is 60.461. The study also found differences in FoMO based on gender, duration of social media use, and residence, with no differences observed based on age and the number of social media platforms used. Differences in self-concept were noted based on gender and duration of social media use.

Abstract

This research aims to optimize the implementation of Quran-based learning methods to enhance the quality of Islamic education. The research methodology includes literature study, where the researcher relies on various literature to obtain research data and employs a qualitative approach since the data produced is in the form of words or descriptions. The main focus of this study is to examine Quranic learning methods in schools that are structured and designed using verses from the Quran as the primary foundation for delivering learning materials. Several findings regarding the Quranic learning methods used by teachers in the classroom include the amtsal method, lecture method, and discussion method. Additionally, verses from the Quran are used as a source of inspiration in developing relevant methods, strategies, and learning media related to the material being taught. More importantly, the application of values contained in the Quran, such as honesty, justice, patience, and others, in the learning process, both directly and integrated into the learning material, is emphasized. The research findings indicate that the implementation of Quran-based learning methods can improve the quality of students' learning. Setting clear memorization targets, conducting muroja’ah (revision), and using interactive learning techniques, such as discussions, have proven effective in strengthening students' memorization. Overall, this research underscores the importance of adapting Quran-based learning methods to meet students' needs, thereby enhancing the overall quality of Islamic education.

Abstract

Legal protection for victims of Domestic Violence (DV) is an important issue within the criminal justice system in Indonesia. Although various regulations have been established through Law No. 23 of 2004 on the Elimination of Domestic Violence, significant challenges remain in providing optimal protection for victims, particularly from a victimological perspective. This study aims to examine the legal protection and support provided to DV victims, with a focus on a victimology-oriented understanding that prioritizes the interests of the victim. The research utilizes a library research method with a normative legal approach to analyze the legal protection for victims of domestic violence (DV). Data is collected through literature review from various secondary sources, such as regulations, legal documents, academic journals, and scholarly literature. This research analyzes relevant legal norms, including Law No. 23 of 2004, Islamic criminal law, positive Indonesian criminal law, and victimology perspectives. The collected data is analyzed descriptively through a normative approach to provide an understanding of the effectiveness of regulations in providing legal protection for DV victims. This analysis aims to provide in-depth insights into legal protection for DV victims in the context of both national and international law. The analysis concludes that legal protection for DV victims in Indonesia can be seen from three perspectives: positive Indonesian law, Islamic criminal law, and victimology. Law No. 23 of 2004 provides a strong legal basis, although challenges regarding victim awareness still persist. Islamic criminal law regulates sanctions for perpetrators and victims' rights, such as compensation (diyat). The victimology perspective emphasizes the importance of victim protection, including the right to compensation. Overall, legal protection should include penalties for perpetrators and recovery and justice for victims.

Abstract

Anxiety is a significant mental health issue that affects the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of individuals, including church members. This study aims to develop an integrated pastoral counseling model to assist congregants in addressing anxiety holistically by combining psychological principles with Christian values based on the Bible. The research employs a qualitative methodology through library research, drawing from theological, psychological, and pastoral counseling literature. The findings indicate that pastoral counseling plays a pivotal role in providing emotional and spiritual support through emotional healing, sustaining individuals during challenging times, guiding decision-making, and reconciling relationships with God, others, and oneself. This approach not only alleviates symptoms of anxiety but also strengthens the faith and spiritual connection of congregants with God. The church serves as a healing community that offers a safe environment for sharing, spiritual reflection, and faith reinforcement. The study concludes that pastoral counseling based on the integration of theology and psychology can be an effective solution for addressing anxiety, reducing mental health stigma, and enhancing the holistic quality of life for congregants. The designed model offers practical guidance for churches to train leaders and pastoral counselors in supporting the emotional and spiritual well-being of their members.
