Abstract

This writing is to find out the creeds have developed in Sundanese society and the dialectical implications of Islam and local culture of this Mantra Creed in Sundanese social and religious life. Meanwhile, the method used is a type of qualitative research or qualitative method of inquiry, namely an in-depth study using data collection techniques directly from people in their natural environment. According to Bogdan and Taylor, qualitative methods are research procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior. The results of the research found several things, including: First, the shahada in Sundanese society has a broader scope than just aspects of Islam, involving various types of shahada in Sundanese with the aim of incantations for supernatural powers or fulfilling immediate needs, showing circumvention of Islamic law but recognizing Islam as a spiritual teaching. Second, Sundanese people's understanding of the Mantra Creed varies, revealed through analysis of the texts of the Sundanese creed, the Sri Sedana pantun, and the Sundanese version of Martabat Tujuh. Although many people know the text of the Sundanese shahada, only a few understand it in depth. The belief that Sundanese people were already Muslim before the arrival of Islam is confirmed through Pantun Sri Sedana, reflecting acculturation between Sundanese and Islamic teachings. Third, the dialectical implications of Islam and local culture from the shahadah mantra in Sundanese social and religious life include three aspects of Islamic teachings and Sundanese belief system.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah's role in the development of education in Indonesia continues to grow over time, playing a key role in determining the future of this country. This research aims to dig deeper into Muhammadiyah's contribution to the history of the development of Indonesian education using historical methods. Literature study is used as a data collection technique, taking information from various sources such as books, journals, newspapers, the internet, and other references related to Muhammadiyah. The research results show that Muhammadiyah has had a positive impact by spreading Islamic teachings and designing an equitable education system throughout Indonesia. Muhammadiyah schools, which integrate religious and general lessons, make a significant contribution to advancing education in the country. This organization has succeeded in establishing and managing more than 5,264 schools and madrasas, as well as 177 universities throughout Indonesia. Thus, Muhammadiyah not only educates the nation through education but also forms quality individuals in educational and religious aspects.

Abstract

Kata “thagha” dan derivasinya dalam Al-Qur'an disebutkan sebanyak 39 kali dalam 39 ayat. Secara makna dasarnya, kata “thagha” dan derivasinya memiliki berbagai makna, termasuk melampaui batas, sombong, berlebihan, dan pembangkang. Adapun makna relasionalnya, kata “thagha” dan derivasinya dapat melibatkan berbagai aspek, seperti melampaui batas dalam konteks Akidah, Hukum, Ibadah, Akhlak, Gerak fisik, Air, Sikap, Penilaian, dan Keadaan alam.Kata “I’tada” dan derivasinya dalam Al-Qur'an juga disebutkan sebanyak 39 kali. Secara makna dasarnya, kata “I’tada” dan derivasinya memiliki makna seperti menolak, melawan, menahan, menentang, bertahan, tahan, membalas, menjawab, bertempur, berjuang, memperselisihkan, membantahi, membandingkan, memberi perlawanan, mengikutsertakan, melaksanakan, menjatuhkan penunggangnya, melompat-lompat tinggi, berusaha sungguh-sungguh, memberontak, membangkang, membangkangi, bersaing, berpendapat, berbantah, bertengkar, menjijikkan, memuakkan, memualkan, dan membendung. Adapun makna relasionalnya, kata “I’tada” dan derivasinya dapat terkait dengan berbagai konteks, seperti had, berperang, waktu, hukum, sikap, waktu, akhlak, berdoa, dan penyembelihan.

Abstract

Tafsir hukmi merupakan pendekatan interpretasi Al-Qur'an yang fokus pada aspek-aspek hukum dan normatif dalam teks suci Islam. Penelitian ini menganalisis dari latar belakang kemunculan tafsir hukmi sejak masa Nabi Muhammad SAW hingga pengaruhnya pada pemikiran ulama kontemporer.Sejarah kemunculan corak tafsir hukmi ini sudah muncul pada masa Nabi Saw yang berkelanjutan hingga munculnya imam-imam Mazhab sampai adanya fanatisme mazhab. Tulisan ini membahas mengenai tafsir hukmi dengan tujuan menganalisis evolusi metode tafsir hukmi dalam tradisi Islam, mengidentifikasi berbagai metode interpretasi, serta memahami implikasinya terhadap praktik hukum Islam. Metode penelitian ini melibatkan analisis tekstual Al-Qur'an, studi literatur, dan wawancara dengan ulama tafsir. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan keragaman pendekatan tafsir hukmi dalam mazhab-mazhab Islam yang berbeda, menyoroti kompleksitas interpretasi terhadap hukum-hukum syariat menjelaskan sejarah kemunculan corak hukum dalam dunia tafsir Al-qur’an, batasan istilah pembahasannya, perdebatan para ulama serta contoh kitab-kitab tafsir bercorak hukum. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analisis berbasis penelitian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan sejarah dan tafsir. Pembahasan tafsir hukmi mencakup pembahasan yang berkenaan dengan hukum-hukum syariat dalam Al-Qur’an. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa tafsir hukmi tetap relevan dalam konteks zaman modern, meskipun memunculkan berbagai tantangan dan perdebatan. Pendekatan ini memberikan kontribusi penting terhadap pemahaman mendalam tentang prinsip-prinsip hukum Islam, memperkaya dialog antara agama dan hukum, serta memberikan landasan bagi perubahan dan reformasi hukum dalam masyarakat muslim memperlihatkan bahwa dalam mempraktikkan penafsiran bercorak hukmi tidak terlepas dari perbedaan pandangan para ulama dalam istinbat hukum. Kitab-kitab tafsir hukmi dapat di temukan dalam tafsir-tafsir yang bermazhab seperti Hanafi, Maliki, Syafii, Hanbali dan Zahiri.

Abstract

Seiring berkembangnya zaman, tafsir al-Qur’an mengalami banyak problematika dalam perkembangannya, terutama pada sumber penafsiran sekunder atau tafsir bi al-ra’yi. Hal ini disebabkan karena pada dasarnya Rasulullah Saw tidak memberikan penjelasan ayat al-Qur’an secara menyeluruh, sehingga mendorong para sahabat untuk senantiasa menafsirkan dan mencari tahu makna yang terkandung pada ayat-ayat al-Qur’an. Apalagi pasca wafatnya Rasulullah Saw banyak muncul permasalahan yang belum pernah ada di zamannya, yang menjadikan penafsiran dengan menggunakan ra’yu amat dibutuhkan. Dengan demikian, diperlukan adanya pengkajian kembali tentang tafsir bi al-ra’yi untuk mengetahui lebih jauh terkait sejarah, problematika, maupun batasan-batasan yang ada pada tafsir bi al-ra’yi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan tafsir bi al-ra'yi melalui riset kepustakaan (library research). Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tafsir bi al-ra’yi merupakan penafsiran al-Qur’an dengan menggunakan nalar dan logika. Pada dasarnya tafsir bi al-ra’yi telah muncul di zaman Rasulullah, tetapi sebagian ulama mengganggapnya sebagai tafsir bi al-ma’tsur karena bersumber dari Nabi dan segala yang bersumber dari Nabi dianggap sebagai wahyu. Pada awalnya penafsiran dengan menggunakan ra’yu mengalami banyak penolakan karena dianggap dapat membawa pada kesesatan. Tetapi seiring berjalannya waktu, sebagian ulama memperbolehkan penggunaan akal dalam menafsirkan al-Qur’an, namun dengan syarat harus mengikuti sejumlah kaidah bahasa dan ketentuan lainnya.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of local traditions in shaping cultural identity and maintaining the social balance of the community, with a case study on the Mapag Sri and Ngunjung Buyut Traditions in Serang Village, Cirebon Regency. This tradition is considered a form of respect for ancestors, as well as serving as a means of unifying the community. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative with an ethnographic approach, through field observations, interviews, and literature reviews. The results of the study show that the Ngunjung Buyut tradition, which involves respect for the Jaka Bagus figure, plays an important role in strengthening social bonds and maintaining local cultural values despite the adaptation to the times. This tradition is also seen as a medium to teach spiritual values, such as gratitude and respect for ancestors, which are combined with Islamic teachings through tawasul and tahlil processions. In conclusion, the Ngunjung Buyut tradition not only preserves cultural values but also maintains social harmony and adaptation to modern changes. The contribution of this research lies in a deeper understanding of the role of local traditions in maintaining cultural identity in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This research explores the potential of religious education as a key to forming an inclusive, just and empowered civil society. Involving a holistic approach with qualitative research methods, the findings highlight that religious education should not only focus on the transfer of religious knowledge but should also stimulate students' critical thinking and active participation. The concept of inclusivity was identified as a crucial foundation, with recognition and respect for diversity of beliefs as an important element. The goal is to create a social climate that supports harmony and mutual understanding in a diverse society. The results of this research have significant implications for designing educational policies that integrate the values of inclusivity and active participation into religious curricula. Teachers are identified as key players and need to be empowered as dialogue facilitators who are able to guide students in a deep learning process. Teacher training programs are also proposed to ensure that the values of inclusivity and appreciation of differences are effectively integrated into religious education. By combining these concepts, this research builds a solid foundation for civil society. Holistic and inclusive religious education is considered a catalyst for positive change, opening the door to a just, harmonious and empowered society. By making religious education the main pillar, efforts to form civil society can be more focused and sustainable.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui respon dua ormas Islam terbesar di Indonesia pada saat penerapan asas tunggal Pancasila. Fokus penelitiannya mencakup tanggapan, alasan dan konsekuensi dari Muhammadiyah dan NU terhadap pemberlakuan kebijakan asas tunggal itu. Teori fungsional struktural, teori perubahan organisasi dan adaptasi digunakan sebagai alat analisis, dengan menggunakan pendekatan historis. Ditemukan bahwa baik Muhammadiyah maupun NU sama-sama menerima berlakunya sila tunggal Pancasila dengan alasan dan akibat yang hampir sama meski dalam waktu yang berbeda. NU menerima di awal, sedangkan Muhammadiyah di akhir.

Abstract

This scholarly analysis critically assesses the literary work, “The Conclusive Argument From God: Hujjat Allah al-Baligha,” by Shah Wali Allah al-Dihlawi. Dihlawi’s Hujjat Allah al-Balighah delved into the intricacies of Sharia by unveiling its underlying principles and exploring its various branches. While grounded in Sharia’s esoteric dimensions, the work seamlessly integrates Hadith, Fiqh, ethical teachings, Sufism, and even philosophical elements. Drawing upon his expertise in descriptive and epistemological disciplines, Dihlawi navigated these mysteries with an unwavering commitment to knowledge. Remarkably, he identified the scientific justification for each Quranic and Prophetic mandate, bridging the gap between revelation and reason. Furthermore, he eloquently emphasized the importance of Sufism and spirituality within the Islamic context. Hujjat Allah al-Balighah illuminated the relevance and interconnectivity of the four primary Sunni schools of thought, highlighting their joint base in Islamic law and tradition.

Abstract

This study explores the status and role of women within Sikh doctrine, aiming to contribute to and enrich academic discussions on the intersection of religious doctrine and gender studies. Using a qualitative approach that focuses on religion and gender, the research employs a library-based methodology, analyzing various sources and relevant prior studies. The findings demonstrate that women in Sikhism are granted equal status to men, rooted in the doctrine that emphasizes an intimate relationship between humans and the divine, where gender holds no significance in the connection to God. Moreover, the study delves into human relationships as shaped by behaviors, attitudes, and societal norms during the Sikh Gurus' era, illustrating the ideal dynamics between men and women. Despite Sikh teachings of equality, women in the Sikh community still face challenges in accessing leadership roles, as cultural and historical narratives often prioritize male dominance. The contributions of Sikh women have been historically marginalized, leaving subsequent generations with limited role models. This research offers both theoretical insights into Sikhism and gender and practical implications for encouraging the Sikh community, particularly men, to uphold Guru Nanak’s vision of gender equality.
