Abstract

This article aims to recontextualize Ibn Sina’s thoughts on intellectual development, stages of learning, and the relationship between knowledge and ethics in the development of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) pedagogy in the digital era. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach through library research, this study examines Ibn Sina’s primary works alongside contemporary literature on Islamic pedagogy and education. The discussion addresses current challenges in IRE pedagogy, including students’ ethical crises, weak reasoning habits, and the persistent dichotomy between religious knowledge and scientific disciplines. The findings indicate that IRE pedagogy can be strengthened through an investigative and value-based learning model, in which students are guided to verify information (tabayyun), engage in reflective thinking (tafakkur) on scientific and social phenomena, consider ethical implications, and translate these reflections into concrete actions. This article highlights Ibn Sina’s theoretical contribution as an epistemological bridge between scientific rationality and Islamic spirituality in developing a holistic, relevant, and transformative IRE pedagogy.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to Islamic Religious Education instruction at State Special School 1 Lebong, with a focus on how contextual strategies can bridge the gap between religious material and the real experiences of students with special needs. The research methodology adopts a qualitative paradigm with a descriptive-interpretive design. Triangulation data gathering methods include academic documentation reviews, in-depth interviews with educational stakeholders, and structured participatory observation. To produce accurate and trustworthy results, data analysis employs Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which comprises the phases of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drafting. The study's conclusions showed that the CTL approach in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction at SLBN 1 Lebong was operationalized through seven fundamental pillars: constructivism, investigation, and questioning, learning community, modeling, reflection, and authentic assessment. Teachers designed learning differentiation by adjusting the complexity of the material, utilizing multisensory media, and providing individual scaffolding that was responsive to the specific characteristics and obstacles of each student. Significant findings indicate that the CTL approach not only improved students' cognitive competence in understanding fundamental concepts of Islamic teachings but also optimized their active involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the communication processes employed by prospective teachers when integrating Islamic values into mathematics education, identifying effective tactics, patterns, challenges, and supporting factors to address gaps in prior research that focused mainly on student outcomes rather than teacher dynamics. The methodology involves a qualitative approach through systematic content analysis of academic journals, books, and relevant documents published between 2015 and 2025, sourced from databases such as Google Scholar and Garuda using targeted keywords like "prospective teacher communication" and "Islamic mathematics integration," with data thematically classified and interpreted via educational communication theories. Key findings highlight successful strategies including interactive dialogue, religious narratives, critical reflection, and technology-based media rooted in Islamic principles, which significantly boost student motivation, conceptual understanding, and character development; however, persistent challenges such as insufficient specialized training, limited appropriate learning resources, time constraints, and socio-cultural variations hinder implementation, though institutional support, contextual modules, and teacher enthusiasm serve as vital enablers.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of religious moderation education in the Masa Ta’aruf Siswa Madrasah (MATSAMA) activities at MIN 2 Sumenep, Madura, focusing on institutional policies, activity processes, stakeholder responses, and their implications. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings indicate that MIN 2 Sumenep systematically integrates religious moderation into MATSAMA through collaboration with Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which has designated this program for all madrasahs in Sumenep Regency. Five main policies were identified: formal integration, collaboration, a contextual pedagogical approach, curriculum integration, and evaluation mechanisms. The innovative CINTA BERUTANG approach (Storytelling, Narration, Question and Answer, Singing, and Playing Snakes and Ladders), using a 12-square Snakes and Ladders game representing nine values of religious moderation, effectively facilitates learning for first-grade students aged 6-7 years. Responses from students, teachers, and the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Ministry of Religious Affairs indicate successful implementation, with impacts including increased affective, cognitive, and conative understanding. And provides practical implications for other madrasahs in designing innovative MATSAMA activities.

Abstract

The low student interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PA) in private Islamic elementary schools underscores the urgent need for more effective and enjoyable learning strategies, considering that religious education plays a central role in shaping students' morals, spiritual character, and learning motivation. This quantitative study aims to analyze the effect of teacher strategies in implementing a fun learning model on increasing interest in learning PAI at Nursyamsiani Islamic Private Elementary School. The research design used a survey method with an explanatory approach and involved 120 students in grades IV-V, selected through a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and the data were analyzed using simple linear regression and a t-test. Islamic Religious Education (PA) at Nursyamsiani Islamic Private Elementary School is effective in creating a fun, meaningful, and student-centered learning experience. The strategies used include educational games, reflective activities, group collaboration, and creative media, which consistently increase student interest in learning across cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains. A positive and supportive learning environment also strengthens students' motivation, self-confidence, and active engagement in learning Islamic Religious Education (PA). The conclusion of this study confirms that enjoyable learning is a relevant, empirically grounded pedagogical approach to strengthen students' learning motivation, while making theoretical contributions to the development of active learning models in Islamic education and offering practical implications for teachers in designing more creative, interactive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of digital-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning media in fifth-grade classes at SD Fatma Kenanga, Bengkulu City, to examine students’ learning motivation in participating in digital-based PAI learning, and to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the use of digital learning media in enhancing students’ learning motivation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through in-depth interviews with the PAI teacher, questionnaires distributed to 20 fifth-grade students, direct classroom observations, and analysis of findings linked to relevant learning theories. The results of the study indicate that the use of digital learning media, particularly educational videos, is still relatively limited in PAI instruction. This limitation is mainly due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and the use of whiteboards and textbooks. However, when digital media were implemented, the learning process became more engaging and interactive, leading to increased student motivation, enthusiasm, active participation, and understanding of PAI materials, especially those related to worship practices and moral values. Based on the questionnaire results, only three out of twenty students showed a moderate level of learning motivation, while the majority demonstrated high to very high motivation levels. Inhibiting factors included limited internet access and restricted availability of facilities such as projectors and Chromebooks, which had to be shared among classes. Overall, digital-based PAI learning media were proven to be effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation and contributed significantly to the development of more innovative and contextual PAI learning strategies.
