Abstract

The rapid development of Generative AI has intensified the unauthorized extraction of digital artwork as training data, creating vulnerabilities that threaten the integrity and career sustainability of young digital artists. This urgency is reinforced by the limited legal and practical protections available to prevent data scraping, style imitation, and attribution loss in the digital environments. This research aims to describe the creative process, publication strategies, copyright-related experiences, and the forms of artistic responsibilities demonstrated by digital artist Nathaniel Jonathan in maintaining the originality of his work within the development of technology. Employing qualitative research with a single case study approach, data is collected through in-depth interviews, online observation, and documentation study, which were then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model with source triangulation validation and member check. The findings show that Nathaniel’s creative process is done systematically and research based, while his publication practices emphasize transparency through process documentation, Creative commons licensing, and the routine inclusion of detailed tool and software descriptions in social media posts as informal markers of authorship. His encounters with plagiarism and AI reflect a critical yet pragmatic stance, where AI is used only for early ideation and always subjected to substantial modification and explicit disclosure. Overall, the study demonstrates that contemporary artistic responsibility involves integrating personal accountability, ethical communication, and community education to reinforce originality and support a sustainable digital art ecosystem in the era of generative technology.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has transformed education through the implementation of online learning, particularly with Virtual Classrooms. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Virtual Classroom use in the Basic Concepts of Social Studies course for students of STKIP Kusumanegara. The research involved 30 students who participated in online lectures via a digital platform equipped with features such as learning materials, discussion forums, quizzes, and online assignments. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to analyze students’ conceptual understanding, engagement, and competence achievement. The findings reveal that Virtual Classrooms provide learning flexibility, broaden access to resources, and foster student independence. However, several challenges were identified, including limited internet access, inadequate devices, and low participation in online discussions. These constraints influenced conceptual comprehension and lecturer–student interaction. Despite these obstacles, the use of Virtual Classrooms remains effective as an alternative as well as a complementary medium to face-to-face learning, especially when supported by active and collaborative learning strategies. The study concludes that Virtual Classrooms hold significant potential for improving the quality of teaching the Basic Concepts of Social Studies, though further development of innovative methods and approaches is necessary. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for enhancing technology-based learning in higher education, particularly in teacher education programs.

Abstract

This study discusses the optimization of the role of Production Assistants (PAs) in improving the production efficiency of the "Food Diary" program on iNews. Although the PA position is often considered an entry-level position, this role is actually very crucial. Although PAs are not fully responsible for the entire program production, PAs hold significant responsibility in maintaining the smooth running of the television production process. The issues examined in this study include the role of PAs from the pre-production to post-production stages, as well as the extent of PAs' contribution to improving the production efficiency of the "Food Diary" program on iNews. The purpose of this study is to determine the real contribution of PAs to production efficiency and understand strategies for optimizing their role in television program production activities. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The results show that PAs are actively involved in all stages of production, from ensuring the readiness of equipment and logistics during pre-production, maintaining technical smoothness and crew coordination during production, to assisting in the editing process, searching for graphic materials, adding background sound, and finalizing the final broadcast during the post-production stage. Optimizing the role of a PA can be achieved by improving communication skills, time management, and technical knowledge in production. PAs significantly contribute to increasing production efficiency, both in terms of time, inter-team coordination, and technical smoothness in the field.

Abstract

Organizational communication is an important foundation for the sustainability and operational efficiency of an institution. This study analyzes the effectiveness of WhatsApp social media in organizational communication at the Galih Pakuan Center, a technical implementation unit for the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program. This study analyzes the influence of individual characteristics on the effectiveness of organizational communication through the use of WhatsApp social media among Galih Pakuan Center employees. Using a descriptive quantitative method with a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, this study involved 58 respondents selected through a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that individual characteristics did not significantly influence the use of WhatsApp social media (path coefficient -0.151 and p-value 0.568), but significantly influenced the effectiveness of organizational communication (path coefficient 0.229 and p-value 0.036). The use of WhatsApp social media was proven to have a significant effect on the effectiveness of organizational communication (path coefficient 0.706 and p-value 0.000). The results of the mediation test indicate that WhatsApp social media use does not mediate the influence of individual characteristics on the effectiveness of organizational communication with a low mediation effect value (0.0113). This study concludes that WhatsApp use directly increases the effectiveness of organizational communication, while individual characteristics directly influence the effectiveness of organizational communication without the intermediary of WhatsApp social media use.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine how legal protection policies and economic rights for returned Indonesian migrant workers are formulated and implemented in Indonesia. This research employs a normative legal approach framed by the concept of transcendental justice an approach that goes beyond formal legal analysis to include moral, spiritual, and humanitarian values in assessing and shaping policies. The findings reveal two key conclusions. First, the protection of Indonesian migrant workers after placement is a state responsibility that must be implemented comprehensively and sustainably, covering legal, social, and economic dimensions. Such protection should not be limited to formal regulations but must be translated into real actions such as reintegration programs, skills training, access to business capital, and the active involvement of both central and local governments and related institutions to ensure the well-being and economic independence of returning migrant workers. Second, the current implementation of legal and economic protections remains ineffective. Although regulations like Law No. 18/2017 exist, their enforcement is weak, uneven, and poorly targeted. Many returning workers lack proper support, meaningful training, social security access, and economic recovery. These shortcomings rooted in poor inter-agency coordination and weak accountability indicate that existing protections fall short of realizing true, dignity-based, and holistic justice.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the visual and symbolic diversity of the Bapang Malangan Mask Dance, especially the character of Bapang Jaya Sentika who has a firm, dominant character, and is full of inner conflict, but until now the character's personality has not been fully represented through conventional visual documentation that tends to be static. The explosive, rhythmic, and energetic movements of the Bapang Mask Dance contain psychological dimensions that can only be understood through visual representations that are able to capture the dynamics of time and the overall flow of the movements. This research aims to reveal, represent, and visualize the personality of the Bapang Jaya Sentika Character in the Bapang Mask Dance movements as a dynamic visual expression through the creation of photographic artworks. The research methodology uses a practice-based research approach with the I Made Bandem artistic creation model which includes the stages of preparation, elaboration, synthesis, realization, and completion, where the process of exploring dance movements, experimenting with long exposure photography techniques, and visual reflection are the main sources of research data. The results of the study indicate that the long exposure photography technique is able to represent the personality of Bapang Jaya Sentika more expressively and symbolically through light trails that depict the ego, inner struggle, self-control, and determination of the character. The six photographic works produced prove that a dynamic visual approach can bring new meaning to the Bapang Mask Dance movement while enriching the documentation and preservation strategies for traditional performing arts in the digital visual era.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires adaptive and strategic communication approaches to ensure that the learning process contributes effectively to the development of superior human resources (HR) toward the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. This study aims to analyze digital education communication strategies in strengthening youth digital literacy as an integral component of HR development in the digital era. The research was conducted through a literature study and conceptual review of recent scientific sources that discuss communication, digital education models, and digital literacy frameworks. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of communication in digital-based education systems is strongly influenced by multi-stakeholder collaboration, involving schools, families, the government, digital platforms, and the private sector. In addition, the integration of interactive media, technology-supported learning methods, and active youth involvement in digital learning environments enhances knowledge absorption and critical engagement. The study argues that participatory, collaborative, and value-oriented communication strategies are essential for forming young generations who are critical, creative, technologically proficient, and possess strong digital ethics and citizenship. Strengthened digital literacy not only contributes to academic achievement but also develops future competencies such as problem solving, innovation, and global communication, which are crucial for future national competitiveness. The recommendations highlight the necessity of sustainable digital literacy initiatives, continuous capacity building for educators, and the creation of inclusive digital learning ecosystems. These efforts are positioned as key foundations for preparing competitive superior human resources who are adaptive, globally oriented, and able to contribute significantly to Indonesia’s socio-economic transformation in the global era and future
