Abstract

Introduction: Family Planning is an action that helps married couples to avoid unwanted births, regulate birth spacing, and determine the number of children in the family. The use of contraception is a shared responsibility between men and women as a couple, so that the contraceptive method that will be chosen is in accordance with the needs and desires of each other. The method used in this community service activity is to form a forum consisting of women of childbearing age in Manyaran Village, Banyakan District. Objective: The purpose of this activity is to involve husbands by increasing understanding and knowledge. So the purpose of this community service activity is to empower married couples to play an active role in increasing the use of contraceptives. Then with the presentation of material related to family planning to create a healthy generation, and then a questionnaire was given to all participants as an evaluation of whether there was a change in knowledge after being given the material. Method: This community service activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method by forming a forum consisting of women of childbearing age in Manyaran Village, Banyakan District. The number of participants who attended the activity was 37 people. In this service, before and after counseling, a questionnaire was given (pretest and posttest) to measure the level of knowledge, then social service for contraception services was carried out. Result: there was an increase in knowledge of fertile couples regarding family planning. After participating in the activity, 80% of participants' knowledge was good and 20% were sufficient. This activity provides benefits for participants to plan their families in order to create a healthy generation. Conclusion: The purpose of this activity has been achieved, which is indicated by the smooth running of the activity and the high enthusiasm of the participants in participating in the activity. After this, it is hoped that participants can plan their pregnancies, regulate the spacing of pregnancies in order to create a healthy generation.

Abstract

Introduction: Bronchitis is an inflammation of the respiratory tract. Sputum in the airways can cause airway obstruction and result in respiratory failure. Knowledge about maintaining airway clearance in bronchitis patients and their families is crucial. Objective: to increase public knowledge about maintaining airway clearance in bronchitis patients. Method:This community service method is to use the lecture and question and answer method for bronchitis patients and their families who come to Sari Mutiara Hospital in October 2024 Result: 80% of the public were able to state the definition of bronchitis, 42% were able to explain the signs and symptoms of bronchitis, and 58% of the public were able to explain maintaining airway clearance in bronchitis patients Conclusion: After receiving teaching,  public knowledge about airway maintenance  increased.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a severe health issue in Indonesia, impacting the physical and cognitive development of children. Objective: This program aims to support stunting prevention and control through integrated psychological and communication strategies in Nanjung Village, Bandung Regency. Method: To educate the community on stunting prevention using appropriate psychological and communication programs and empower families to support optimal child growth and development. Result: Activities included counseling, training, and family assistance at risk of stunting through the integration of psychology and communication sciences. The program successfully increased community awareness of the importance of nutrition, psychological health, and communication within families. The risk of stunting in children decreased. Conclusion: Integrated psychological and communication approaches significantly contribute to stunting control efforts.

Abstract

Introduction: Early warning systems are an effective way to minimize the impact of disasters. It provides information on the potential occurrence of natural disasters and the steps that communities should take. However, in many areas, community knowledge and understanding of this system is still minimal Objective: The purpose of this service was to increase the community's understanding of how to properly respond to disaster signs and improve community preparedness for disasters. Method: This public service was conducted by lecturers and students of the faculty of nursing, Bhakti Kencana University. Result: Before the activity, most of the community knowledge, namely 28 people (80%) had less knowledge about pre, intra and post disaster mitigation, while after the activity, most of the 33 people (100%) of the community could explain and be able to perform BHD simulations and simple wound care Conclusion: The community experienced a significant increase in knowledge on how to respond to early warning of disasters, as well as evacuation procedures to be taken. The disaster simulation on basic life support and simple wound care that was conducted showed that most of the community members (100%) were able to follow the procedures well

Abstract

Introduction: Challenges in education and family dynamisc often hinder optimal learning and development among students. They face difficulties in focusing during lessons and comprehending instructions, resulting in suboptimal academic performance. Objective: The purpose of this service was to enhance student;s cognitive abilities, focus, and emotional well being while also empowering parents to adopt effective communication strategies to foster a supportive learning environment. Method: This public service was conducted by through several stages, including administering the Faxtor Cognitive Ability Test (FCAT) to assess student’s cognitive skills. Workshop for innovative learning and entrepreneurship were organized for student and teacher. For parents, a psychoeducation sessions were conducted to enhance their communication strategies with their children. Result: The activities showed a positive impact, with students demonstrating increased focus and engagement during learning sessions. The workshops provided a platform for students to improve their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills Conclusion: This community service initiative successfully addressed critical issues at SMA Al Hadi by enhancing students’ cognitive and social skills while equipping parents with effective communication tools. These results underscore the potential for replicating similar programs in other schools facing comparable challenges.

Abstract

Introduction: Proper medication management is a crucial step in ensuring patient safety and enhancing the efficiency of healthcare services, especially in hospitals. Education on medication management using the DAGUSIBU method (Get, Use, Store, and Dispose) serves as an educational approach to improve the understanding and compliance of healthcare workers and the community. Objective: To improve public understanding of how to use drugs safely and appropriately. Method: The method used was conducted by a pre-test and post-test design involving participants from healthcare workers and pharmacy staff at Ciamis Regional General Hospital. The education was delivered using presentation media and leaflet. Understanding was measured using a questionnaire consisting of multiple-choice questions. Result: These results indicate that the majority of respondents 60% have a good understanding of the material measured in the questionnaire. However, there are around 40% of respondents (categories Sufficient and Less) who show an understanding that still needs to be improved, which could be a concern for further improvement. Conclusion: It is hoped that through this program, the community can implement the DAGUSIBU principle in everyday life to create a healthier and safer environment.

Abstract

Introduction: This community service program is designed to improve the quality and sales of Amplang MSMEs in Sesumpu Village, Penajam District, by utilizing social media. Objective: Polaksar Bayah, Sesumpu Village, Penajam District Method: Training and Mentoring Result: increased income for entrepreneurs, strengthening production capacity, and improvements in business management practices carried out by participants. Thus, this program is expected to provide a significant positive impact on the development of MSMEs in the area Conclusion: The community service program implemented in Sesumpu Village has succeeded in achieving its goals in improving the quality and sales of Amplang MSMEs. Through a planned and participatory approach, this program is able to overcome various challenges faced by partners, including limited knowledge in business management and marketing

Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Hypertension is still one of the public health problems in Cimandala. Unhealthy lifestyles are the dominant factor in the triggering of hypertension. Objective: The implementation of the activity was carried out on January 24, 2024, January 29, 2024, and February 6, 2024 which was attended by 26 people. Method: The method used in community service has three stages, namely the first stage is to find priority nursing diagnosis problems in the community and decide on solutions to the problems. The second stage is with intervention and the final stage is with evaluation of the interventions carried out. The implementation of activities in the form of focus group discussions to determine priorities and solutions for village activity programs in collaboration with the health center. Hypertension counseling is carried out with the agreement of all residents. Result: Evaluation of the activity program by distributing pre- and post-test questionnaires, where there was an increase in the score of understanding of hypertension in residents by 25.4. This shows a good number. Conclusion: From the results of these activities, there has been a significant increase, as can be seen from the results of the post-test carried out that residents understand and know more about hypertension, from its definition to its prevention. Healthy lifestyle needs to be encouraged and promoted through various ways, so that people can avoid hypertension Keywords: Nursing Diagnosis, Nursing Intervention and Implementation, Non-Communicable Diseases (Hypertension).

Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a disease caused by viruses or bacteria that is usually transmitted depending on the causative pathogen, environmental factors, and the consequences of the mortality and morbidity rates in developing countries are quite high and Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the causes of the high prevalence of morbidity in toddlers. The immune system of children under 5 years of age that is formed is still not strong enough so that it can increase the risk of ARI. Objective: Educating cadres and the community about the prevention and early management of respiratory tract infections in children at Puspasari Bogor with 55 participants consisting of 32 mothers with children aged 5 months - 5 years and 12 health cadres. Method: Community service on early management and prevention of ARI targeting mothers with toddlers was carried out on August 30 - September 8, 2024, carried out in 3 stages with stage 1 determining health problems. second determining interventions and implementing and third evaluation at the Citeurep Health Center and Mawar Posyandu. Education or counseling was carried out by lecturers from the Annisa Health and Business Institute, Diploma III Midwifery Study Program, Diploma III Nursing, Bachelor of Hospital Administration accompanied by the distribution of leaflets to mothers. The knowledge of mothers is very important in the future, so pretests and posttests were carried out related to the material presented. Result: Evaluation of the activity program by distributing pre- and post-test questionnaires, where there was an increase in the percentage of understanding of prevention of early management of acute respiratory infections in residents by an increase of 36% Both stated from the pretest 44% to the Posttest 80% This shows a good number. Conclusion: Based on the results of the evaluation of Community Service activities, the knowledge of cadres and mothers with toddlers has increased significantly. Although ARI is a disease that is considered common, it has an impact if not treated immediately. The need for family support and health facilities in responding to it. Abstract

Introduction: Business and entrepreneurship feasibility studies are important aspects in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Balikpapan, which function to understand the potential and risks of business in the area. Objective: The purpose of this service is to assist MSMEs in Balikpapan in analyzing business feasibility and improving entrepreneurship through appropriate education and training. Method: This service method involves interactive training and mentoring for MSME actors, including market analysis, business plan preparation, and production cost calculations. Result: The results of this activity show an increase in MSME understanding of business feasibility studies, better access to financing sources, and closer collaboration with local governments. Conclusion: This service program has succeeded in providing a positive impact on the growth and competitiveness of MSMEs, and can be used as a model for developing entrepreneurship in other areas.
