Abstract

This study analyzes the competitive position of universities in Purworejo, focusing on Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), using Porter’s Five Forces framework. The increasingly intense competition in the higher education sector—driven by digital disruption and changing student preferences—demands that universities formulate effective strategies to remain competitive. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method, this research evaluates the five competitive forces: the threat of new entrants, the bargaining power of suppliers, the bargaining power of buyers, the threat of substitute products, and the intensity of rivalry among existing competitors. Data were collected through document analysis and literature review using secondary sources from PDDikti, BAN-PT, and official university data. The findings indicate that UMPWR faces threats from digital-based universities such as MOOCs and online campuses, but it holds strengths in operational scale, local market leadership, Islamic identity, and alumni networks. The study concludes that strengthening digital infrastructure, diversifying academic programs, and leveraging institutional identity are key strategies to enhance competitiveness. This research contributes to the practical discourse on strategic planning for private universities in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in the XYZ Health Center using 10 TQM Elements according to Goetsch and Davis, as well as using the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method to determine the main causes of existing problems regarding quality and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) analysis to determine improvements that need to be prioritized. The method used is a mix method, namely qualitative and quantitative. Data collection method by triangulation of sources, techniques and time. The results of this study show that the XYZ Health Center has implemented several efforts in the TQM element but it is still not optimal both in terms of implementation and results. Analysis with RCA with Fishbone diagram found that problems occurred in Cluster 3 on human factors, methods or procedures, machines and materials. Problems with the method factor are the most common problems. Meanwhile, the analysis with FMEA obtained three failure modes with the highest RPN (Risk Priority Number) to be given recommendations for improvement. The mode of failure is that the patient does not understand the information provided regarding the service rules, the patient is not honest about the health condition and the patient does not carry a personal identity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of changes in world gold prices, interest rate, and inflation on the value of Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). JII is a Sharia stock index comprising 30 Sharia-compliant stocks with the largest average daily transactions in Indonesia. This index serves as an important representation of Indonesia's Sharia-based capital market. By utilizing macroeconomic variables such as world gold prices, interest rate, and inflation, this research is expected to provide insights to relevant parties regarding the impact of these variables on the Sharia stock index in Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary monthly data from January 2015 to December 2023. This study use Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) model to provide an accurate depiction consistent with the research model and the characteristics of the data used. The analysis results indicate that the world gold price variable has a significant negative effect on Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). The inflation variable has a significant positive effect on JII. Meanwhile, interest rate has a negative but statistically insignificant effect on JII. This data analysis model can explain 44.8% of the determination coefficient, while the remainder is influenced by other factors outside the model.

Abstract

A successful learning process requires adaptation to the diversity of students' characteristics, both in terms of learning styles and mastery of the material. The learning process in the use of digital media as learning materials is one relevant solution. Creative delivery of material can increase enthusiasm for learning. Canva is an easily accessible design platform that can be used to present learning materials in a visual and attractive way. This study was conducted to evaluate the extent to which the use of Canva as a presentation tool impacts learning outcomes at SMK XYZ. Learning outcomes were obtained from the same students who took pretest and posttest exams. The study used a quantitative approach, with a sample of 25 students who had undergone pretest and posttest treatments. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test via the SPSS application. The analysis results showed that the calculated t-value of -5.634 exceeded the critical t-value of 2.060 at a 5% significance level. These findings indicate a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the implementation of Canva in the learning process. In conclusion, the use of Canva not only enriches the visualization of materials but also encourages active student participation. Therefore, the implementation of creative digital media such as Canva is worth considering as a teaching strategy in vocational high school environments

Abstract

In the digital era, human resources (HR) are a key factor in the success of institutions and companies. Employee performance is significantly influenced by a comfortable and supportive work environment. This study aims to examine the effect of the work environment on employee performance at PT DAEAH E&C RDMP Balikpapan, a construction company that is continuously growing alongside digitalization. The research employs a quantitative method, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 40 employee respondents. Validity and reliability tests show that the research instruments are valid and reliable. Data analysis using simple linear regression, normality, and heteroscedasticity tests confirm that the regression model is valid and meets statistical assumptions. The results indicate that the work environment has a positive and significant impact on employee performance, with a regression coefficient of 0.842 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). A comfortable work environment, good interpersonal relationships, and adequate facilities enhance employee motivation and productivity. This study provides valuable insights for companies to create a conducive work environment that supports improved employee performance. However, the study is limited by the number of respondents and the scope of variables examined, suggesting future research should expand the variables and sample size for more comprehensive results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational commitment on employee performance with the work environment as a mediating variable at PT Pelindo (Persero) Samarinda Branch. The main issue addressed is whether organizational commitment has a direct effect on employee performance and to what extent the work environment mediates this relationship. The scope of the study includes all 62 employees at PT Pelindo (Persero) Samarinda Branch. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling with the PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling) approach, supported by SmartPLS 3 software. Total sampling was applied due to the relatively small population. The findings indicate that organizational commitment does not have a significant direct impact on employee performance, but has a significant positive effect on the work environment. The work environment, in turn, has a significant positive effect on employee performance and serves as a full mediator in the relationship between organizational commitment and performance. The study concludes that while organizational commitment alone does not directly enhance performance, its role in fostering a supportive work environment is crucial. Therefore, it is recommended that the company prioritize creating a positive and supportive work environment to promote optimal employee productivity.

Abstract

This study analyzes the disparity between the ideal concept of Islamic fiscal policy implemented during the Prophet Muhammad's era and the Rightly Guided Caliphs period with its contemporary practice in Muslim countries, focusing on Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Using qualitative methods and historical-comparative analysis, the research identifies three main differences: (1) the public financial management system, where Baitul Mal has evolved into a modern financial system that is not fully sharia-compliant; (2) state revenue sources, where reliance on zakat, kharaj, and jizyah has shifted to conventional taxation; and (3) welfare distribution mechanisms, which have been reduced to limited social programs compared to the comprehensive Islamic social security system. Additionally, both case study countries have economic development visions—Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Indonesia's 2045 Economic Transformation—that influence their fiscal policies. The factors contributing to this gap include pressures from the global economic system, limitations in implementing sharia in public finance, insufficient in-depth understanding of Islamic fiscal concepts, and the complexity of transitioning from conventional to sharia-based systems. Theoretically, this study contributes to developing an adaptive Islamic fiscal policy model suitable for modern contexts. Practically, it provides policy recommendations to strengthen the implementation of sharia-based fiscal systems in Muslim countries while addressing global challenges and national development needs. slim countries in optimizing the implementation of a sharia-based fiscal system.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)-based marketing content optimization strategies through the WordPress platform at Impactlabs Indonesia, a technology startup company engaged in the Internet of Things (IoT) and sustainability. Despite having implemented digital marketing since 2021, Impactlabs' website performance has not shown optimal results in terms of traffic, visibility, and user engagement. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study, data was collected through interviews, observations, as well as internal documentation and digital metrics analysis. On-page SEO strategies were implemented with a focus on keyword research, content structure optimization, and utilization of Yoast SEO plugin on WordPress. The results showed a significant increase in the number of impressions, click-through rate (CTR), keyword ranking, and visitor engagement. These findings reinforce the role of SEO as part of a consumer-oriented and data-driven digital marketing management strategy. WordPress-based optimization is proven to be able to support increased marketing effectiveness, brand visibility, and overall company digital performance

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of tax service quality, taxpayer awareness, and tax sanctions on individual taxpayer compliance at KPP Pratama Majalaya. The research is based on the declining trend of annual tax return filing ratios, despite an increase in the number of taxpayers. A quantitative approach was used with descriptive and verificative methods. A total of 100 respondents were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with multiple linear regression. The results show that tax service quality, taxpayer awareness, and tax sanctions have a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, both partially and simultaneously. The model explains 33.1% of the variation in compliance levels. These findings highlight the importance of service improvement, ongoing tax education, and the fair and firm implementation of sanctions. The study offers strategic recommendations for KPP Pratama Majalaya to develop compliance-enhancing policies that are tailored to the socio-economic characteristics of local taxpayers.

Abstract

The development of technology in the era of globalization now has a tremendous effect on human life. Various disruptions are presented by it. With these conditions, a person, especially as a leader, must follow the rapid changes presented by the development of globalization. Technological advances, for example, require a leader to adjust his leadership style to make quick decisions based on current conditions. This article wants to discuss the agile leadership style which is the answer to the style of a leader in the era of globalization. This article also uses a qualitative research method with data collection techniques from various references, such as books and journals. This article uses the concept of agile leadership which is the answer to the leadership style in the current era of globalization. This article argues that a leader with an agile leadership style becomes more adaptive to the development of globalization and has an impact on progress in the organization or company they lead to be achieved more quickly. This article concludes that the agile leadership style with its characteristics is the right answer for a leader in this era of globalization. Adaptation and calmness, for example, are important reasons for a leader in the current era of technological disruption.
