Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an important ability that every student must have. However, many students still have not mastered emotional intelligence well as a result, students find it difficult to control emotions, and have difficulty establishing communication with peers, so this can have an impact on social interactions and also the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Collaborative learning emerges as one of the effective methods that can be used to overcome these difficulties because this method allows students to practice and develop their emotional skills through active interaction and cooperation with classmates, which can improve emotional intelligence. The purpose of this study is to find out how collaborative learning can contribute to improving students' emotional intelligence. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, with the 3rd-grade teacher of SDN Dadaprejo 01 as the main informant of the research. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that heterogeneous grouping strategies, role assignment, encouraging communication and presentation showed a positive contribution to increasing students' emotional intelligence. Engaging in collaborative learning provides opportunities for students to interact directly with peers, which can improve communication skills, empathy and the ability to control emotions in various social contexts, with this students' emotional intelligence can develop regardless of students' academic success.

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges encountered by public and private elementary school teachers in urban and rural areas when applying the Asesmen Kompetensi Minumum (AKM). This study employed a qualitative phenomenological method, interviewing four teachers from various circumstances. The findings reveal a number of challenges, including an increased workload, pressure to achieve high AKM scores, limited access to professional development, contradicting holistic education values, feelings of isolation, and policy ambiguity. These variables have a direct effect on teacher emotional well-being, motivation, and instructional efficacy. Teachers are expected to overcome these obstacles with more support from schools and the government, such as continuous training, collaboration rooms, and emotional support.

Abstract

Self-efficacy, or an individual's belief in their ability to accomplish tasks, plays a crucial role in academic success, particularly at the primary education level. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology to analyze empirical studies from the past five years (2019-2024) focusing on the impact of self-efficacy on primary school students. Literature searches were conducted across three major databases: Google Scholar, SINTA, and Scopus, yielding 213 articles, which were subsequently screened to obtain 10 articles meeting the inclusion criteria. The analysis process involved three-stage thematic coding: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, followed by validation through researcher triangulation and member checking. This study explored the impacts of high and low self-efficacy on students' academic performance and identified factors influencing self-efficacy formation, such as family support, teaching quality, school environment, and social interactions. The findings revealed that high self-efficacy positively correlates with better academic achievement, active learning engagement, and resilience in facing academic challenges, while low self-efficacy negatively impacts students' participation in academic activities and learning motivation. The analysis also uncovered the critical role of success experiences, social support, and learning environment quality in shaping students' self-efficacy. Based on these findings, further research is recommended to design more effective interventions for enhancing self-efficacy through social reinforcement and positive academic experiences, supporting students' long-term development across various life aspects.
