Abstract

Education in Indonesia is currently ranked among the lowest in terms of quality, as evidenced by PISA 2018. Therefore, it is crucial to introduce technological innovations, such as instructional videos, to improve the state of education in the country. This project aims to create animated films that can serve as instructional resources for electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials, specifically designed for classroom use. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D), utilizing the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The results of this study demonstrate the high validity of the learning videos developed, as indicated by the validation tests carried out by media experts (81.4%) and material experts (96.9%). These results are further supported by a questionnaire-based assessment of student responses, with an overall satisfaction rate of 98.67%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the development of practicum-based YouTube animation videos on electrolyte and non-electrolyte materials, using the ADDIE model, is highly suitable for educational purposes.

Abstract

The comprehension of concepts is crucial in educational activities and serves as the basis for achieving learning outcomes. However, students often encounter difficulties when it comes to understanding biological concepts, especially those related to the nervous system. This study aims to evaluate the impact of using the Problem-Based Learning model, with the support of the Kahoot application, on students' understanding of concepts related to the nervous system. The research design employed a Quasi Experiment approach, utilizing a Two Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Cluster random sampling was used to select the participants. A 20-question multiple-choice test was employed as the research instrument to measure conceptual understanding. Descriptive analysis techniques, including the calculation of mean, median, mode, and standard deviation, were employed for data analysis. Prior to hypothesis testing, normality and homogeneity tests were conducted to ensure data validity. An independent t-test was utilized for hypothesis testing. The descriptive analysis demonstrated that the average posttest score in the experimental group was 81.09, compared to 54.53 in the control group, indicating higher scores in the experimental group. The results of the t-test (2-tailed) yielded a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and accepting the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This suggests that the Problem-Based Learning model, in conjunction with the Kahoot application, has a positive impact on students' understanding of concepts.

Abstract

Public Street Lighting (PSL) is part of road infrastructure that is vital for the safety and comfort of road users. The availability of PSL can also boost the economic growth of a municipality because the longevity of activities from the population and the industry is increased. The crucial role of PSL is still not being offset with good availability and management most municipalities in Indonesia still cannot fulfill the needs of good PSL requirements and using a lot of electricity. This is due to the lack of PSL management in Indonesia is caused by the limitations of technical aspect management and lack of technological availability, limitations of the administrative function as well as lack of alternative financing scheme. To accelerate the availability of PSL and to optimize the management it needs an efficient provision scheme and mitigate risk caused by the ineffective management of PSL. The methodology that is being used in this research are problem solver and risk sharing approaches. The result of this research shows that compared to conventional procurement from the state budget, the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme can solve most of the provision and management problems of PSL. In the PPP scheme, there is a risk transfer of 80% from the government to the public sector so that PSL services are better, this is balanced by the positive value of Value for Money (VFM). The energy efficiency potential of the PSL PPP can reduce up to 53% of electrical energy use from replacing lamps in PSL. The use of LED lights makes waste from PSL more environmentally friendly because it does not contain mercury like traditional lamps which are widely used in PSL and reduces CO2 emissions produced by electrical energy. The Government must promote the PPP scheme as part of innovative financing for the provision and management of PSL in Indonesia as there are only 3 out of 514 municipalities that has already implemented the PPP scheme for PSL Project.

Abstract

This study explores the development and validation of mathematics teaching materials that integrate Islamic values to foster both cognitive and ethical growth in students. Utilizing the scientific horizon model, these materials were designed to connect mathematical concepts with Islamic teachings, making learning relevant to students’ cultural and spiritual backgrounds. The development followed the Plomp model, with five stages: initial investigation, design, development, evaluation, and dissemination. Expert validation rated the materials as "valid" (average score of 4.09), affirming their educational rigor and cultural appropriateness. Field trials with 50 first-semester students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at the State Islamic University of Mataram showed high student engagement, with over 90% expressing positive responses. Students reported that the contextualized lessons—such as using modular arithmetic to calculate prayer cycles and exploring infinity through Qur’anic reflections—enhanced their understanding and engagement. This study demonstrates that integrating Islamic values into mathematics not only aids in comprehension but also promotes ethical reflection, supporting the holistic educational mission of Islamic institutions. Recommendations for future research include broader implementation across educational contexts and expansion into other STEM subjects.

Abstract

The Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) is a coordinated national initiative to promote healthy behavior and improve quality of life through family and community engagement. This study explores the implementation of GERMAS in Bima City, focusing on the effectiveness of health promotion strategies like advocacy, socialization, and public campaigns across Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) and related Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). A qualitative descriptive research design grounded in postpositivist philosophy was employed, with data collected through triangulated interviews and observations. Findings indicate that GERMAS health promotion activities are well-established but limited to specific actions, lacking comprehensive integration across sectors. Efforts remain primarily confined to isolated activities, such as promoting a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) and disease prevention, rather than fostering collaborative, multi-sectoral engagement. Future implementation should strengthen cross-sector partnerships and expand routine practices, including regular physical activity, increased fruit and vegetable intake, and health check-ups every six months. The study offers foundational insights for developing enhanced strategies and policies for GERMAS integration in community health frameworks.

Abstract

Chili farmers in Kendalbulur Village are the main subjects that have a great influence due to exposure to pesticide residues (toxicity). Pesticide toxicity affects enzymes produced by the liver that cause changes in its working system. This study aims to look at the characteristics and levels of the enzymes SGOT, SGPT, and ALP in chili farmers exposed to pesticides that perform spraying activities. The SGOT-SGPT liver function test is a health screening that combines the examination of SGOT and SGPT enzyme levels in the blood. The purpose of this liver function test is to detect hepatitis or cirrhosis of the liver in chili farmers. The alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme test is conducted to help diagnose and evaluate cirrhosis and inflammatory diseases of the liver. In addition to evaluating liver function, the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme test can also help detect bone disorders or protein deficiencies in chili farmers. Respondents were 20 chili farmers and pesticide users with an age range of 34–71 years. Test method using the non-analytical descriptive method and sampling technique using total sampling. The examination carried out is the rate of SGOT, SGPT, and ALP using spectrophotometry. The results of the SGOT examination showed that all respondents had SGOT levels in the normal range of <40 U/L, where the lowest result was 16 U/L and the highest was 35 U/L. While SGPT showed that all respondents were in the normal range of 40 U/L, with the lowest result of 2 U/L and the highest of 23 U/L, the ALP levels of many respondents were above normal values. The lowest value is 131 U/L, and the highest is 222 U/L. The results showed that the respondents showed disruption of the liver because ALP levels give high results. Where should ALP levels decrease with age.
