Abstract

The integrated learning model in Islamic Religious Education at the junior high ‎school level seeks ‎to improve students' understanding of religious values and ‎engagement in learning‎. This study examines the application of the ‎integrated learning model in Islamic Religious Education at the junior high school ‎level, focusing on its impact on students' understanding of religious values and ‎engagement in the learning process. This study was conducted at Al Azhar 1 Junior ‎High School in Bandar Lampung. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed ‎to explore the implementation of the integrated learning model. Data were ‎collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document ‎analysis. The participants included teachers, students, the school principal, and the ‎vice principal. Analysis followed Miles and Huberman's ‎interactive ‎model, with data validity ensured through triangulation, offering an objective view ‎of ‎the model's effect on student engagement and understanding. Results showed that the integrated learning model effectively connects religious values with students' real-life contexts, enhancing their understanding and participation. Students became more active in discussions and felt motivated to apply religious values in their daily lives, mainly through themes like honesty, discipline, and cooperation presented in relatable scenarios. The study implies that the integrated learning model in Islamic Religious Education increases student engagement and supports positive character development. These findings provide valuable insights for designing a more engaging and impactful curriculum that aligns with the goals of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

One of the programs to overcome religious conflicts through educational institutions is to develop a curriculum by internalizing the values of religious moderation in textbooks on Al-Qur'an and Hadith subjects. This paper examines the internalization of the values of religious moderation contained in Al-Quran hadith textbooks through the learning process at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Banda Aceh City. It also explores the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation. A qualitative approach was conducted through interviews, document review, and observation. Research informants were the principal, teachers who taught Al-Quran Hadith subjects in classes X, XI, and XII, and students representing each class. The data analysis techniques were data reduction, display or presentation of data, and conclusion drawing. The results showed many values of religious moderation in the Al-Quran hadith textbooks. Still, there were no clear and firm explanations for understanding these moderation values because the explanations and interpretations of verses and hadiths presented in the textbooks still need additional, more comprehensive explanations regarding content and from the teacher's side. Teachers internalizing the values of religious moderation still focused on oral presentation (lecture method) even though in other conditions, there is also urgency in implementing these values in direct and indirect learning. The obstacle teachers face in internalizing the values of religious moderation in Al-Quran hadith subjects is the lack of clear and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the content of religious moderation values and appropriate methods for transforming these values.

Abstract

Gross motor skills in children aged 5 to 6 support their physical progress and overall abilities. In this age range, children are in an essential phase of improving muscle strength, body coordination, and other motor skills, which can be acquired through a variety of physical activities, both structured and free. This study evaluates gross motor development in children aged 5 to 6 years enrolled in kindergartens in the Sungai Kunjang sub-district, Samarinda. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a survey design, and data analysis was conducted using SPSS software version 22.0. The population in this study was 13 kindergartens in the Sungai Kunjang Subdistrict of Samarinda. The samples in this study were two kindergartens, which were determined based on the specified criteria (purposive sampling): the kindergarten located in Sungai Kunjang Subdistrict, an Islamic-based kindergarten using the Merdeka Curriculum. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to teachers in two kindergartens in Sungai Kunjang Subdistrict, Samarinda City. The findings showed that the children's gross motor skills were still relatively low, with the questionnaire indicating that of the 17 indicators observed, most of the children's skills were in the Beginning to Develop (MB) category, with an average score of 1.33. These results imply that further stimulation, such as educational game tools, should support children's gross motor development in kindergartens in Sungai Kunjang District, Samarinda.

Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology is currently receiving special attention and has numerous benefits. In the education field, this technology can help obtain information quickly to complete a thesis. This research aims to conduct GenAI Modeling based on the Technology Accepted Model (TAM) and Expected Value Theory (EVT) framework using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). The research used primary data obtained from surveys. The population was all Tarbiyah faculty students who took a thesis in the Even Semester of the 2023/2024 academic year with a total of 1266. The sample in this research was 191 students who were completing their thesis and had used Gen AI technology to help complete their thesis. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling with a procedure of dividing students into 8 clusters based on the study program. The research instrument used a questionnaire consisting of 5 latent variables: Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Intrinsic Motivation, Perceived Value, and Behavioral Intention to Use. The results of the analysis using the PLS-SEM method showed that Intrinsic Motivation has a significant relationship with Perceived Ease of Use, and Intrinsic Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Value have a significant relationship with Behavioral Intention to Use. These results show that students choose GenAI Technology to help complete their thesis based on its benefits, such as making it easier to prepare backgrounds, research instruments, and data analysis steps, as well as providing insight into knowledge related to the topic being researched. The research results imply the need for policies regarding the use of GenAI technology for theses so that students are wiser in using GenAI technology.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the process of internalizing multicultural education values in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) learning at MA DDI Darun Najah Kaloling, situated within a multiethnic community. The research focuses on planning, teacher strategies for internalization, and evaluation and its impacts on students. The subjects of this study were the Head of the Madrasah, the Fiqh subject teacher, and students. A qualitative approach was employed, using interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analyzed through collection, condensation, presentation, and verification stages. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The findings reveal that multicultural value internalization was systematically carried out through the synergy of institutional policies, curriculum enhancement, and teacher training. The madrasah’s vision, which emphasizes Qur'anic character and religious moderation, served as a foundation for instilling tolerance values. Teachers applied a phased strategy of transformation, transaction, and transinternalization using active learning approaches such as discussions and case studies. Evaluation indicated improved tolerant attitudes, a more inclusive classroom environment, and reduced conflict potential. These findings produced an internalization model that can serve as a reference for other madrasahs in fostering a multicultural and harmonious learning environment. This indicates that multicultural education can be effectively integrated into religious instruction. A holistic educational design is needed, encompassing policy, instructional strategies, evaluation, and teacher training alongside further research to explore broader contexts and identify enabling and inhibiting factors in the internalization of multicultural values across diverse madrasah settings.

Abstract

This study investigates how character education values are communicated and internalized through digital Islamic preaching on TikTok, focusing on the sermons of Gus Iqdam, an influential Indonesian preacher whose content resonates with millions of young followers. While his videos are widely consumed and celebrated for their humor and relatability, many audience members engage with the content passively, without translating the moral messages into real-life behavior. This research aims to explore the core character values conveyed in his digital sermons and assess their impact on audience comprehension and behavioral change. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through systematic content observation of selected TikTok sermons, semi-structured interviews with 50 active followers, and content analysis of the values embedded in the sermons. The findings reveal that Gus Iqdam promotes key moral values such as honesty, patience, empathy, respect, and responsibility through storytelling, humor, and everyday analogies. His casual language and culturally grounded delivery style serve as a bridge that connects moral lessons with the lived realities of young audiences. Interview data indicate that many followers felt personally influenced to reflect and act upon these values, although not all engagement led to transformation. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how digital religious content can function as a medium of informal moral education, offering valuable insights for educators, preachers, and digital content creators aiming to reach and impact today’s digital-native generation.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the educational strategies implemented at Al-Kautsar Islamic Boarding School in shaping future leaders based on Islamic values. The main focus of this study includes three aspects: strengthening foreign languages, integration of religious and general subjects, and a contextual approach through evaluation and self-development of santri. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with caregivers, teachers, and santri, as well as observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which consists of three main steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that foreign language strengthening is carried out through language zone programs and international student exchanges. Santri are accustomed to using Arabic and English actively in daily life, which aims to form self-confidence and global da'wah abilities. This strategy creates an immersive environment that encourages natural and contextualized language use. The integration of religious and general studies is implemented by inserting Islamic values in science and technology materials, so that students are able to see science as part of the signs of Allah's greatness. Meanwhile, the contextual approach and evaluation system based on Islamic values are carried out through weekly muhasabah, moral evaluation, and continuous character building. This strategy plays an important role in shaping the personality of students who are disciplined, responsible, and have good character.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the process and the implications of strengthening the independence character education through pesantrenpreneur at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School in Semarang. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological approach. The subjects of this study were a caregiver, three administrators, and five santri who participate in pesantrenpreneur. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation, while the data analysis techniques used qualitative methods of the Creswell model. The study results show that the process of strengthening independence character education through pesantrenpreneur at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School is carried out continuously through three stages, namely providing understanding (moral knowing), instilling awareness (moral feeling), and providing examples or role models (moral action). Strengthening independence character education through pesantrenpreneur has given positive implications for the independence of santri who are increasingly strong, namely having a desire to develop, showing their activeness in taking the initiative and being able to overcome problems, being more confident and able to carry out tasks on their own, and starting to be aware of responsibility. This change is reflected in the emotional independence, values, and behavior of santri in everyday life, so that it can be used as provisions for future life. The importance of this research is relevant in an effort to answer the challenges of 21st-century education, where the educational process in Islamic boarding schools is required not only to be able to produce santri who are intelligent in religious knowledge, but also independent in personality.

Abstract

In a time of ever-changing education, technology is essential for improving the learning experience. The objective of this research is to examine how the Canva platform is utilized as media for implementing project-based learning in the instruction of Qur’anic verses related to patience and optimism at MTs Bustanul Arifin, particularly in class VII A. The research method used a qualitative approach with a field research design. The subjects in this study consisted of 2 Islamic Religious Education teachers and 32 class VIIA students. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques, then data analysis was carried out systematically through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Teachers act as the main informants in providing information related to the learning strategies used, while students become additional data sources through active participation in the observed learning process. The results suggest that Canva has the potential to boost student participation and curiosity by providing interactive and imaginative educational opportunities. Several obstacles were recognized, such as challenges in replicating Qur’anic text, a lack of design expertise, and time management difficulties when finishing the tasks. Nonetheless, implementing Canva as a project-based learning approach fosters the enhancement of 21st-century skills like critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and innovation, all while enhancing the quality of learning experiences. The study's findings suggest that incorporating technology into education can enhance students' comprehension of the subject matter more practically and contextually, leading to increased motivation and improved learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain a descriptive understanding of the mental health condition of university students and its implications in the development of multicultural education strategies integrated with Islamic education values. In order for students to interact effectively and harmoniously in a culturally diverse environment, multicultural education requires a strong mental health foundation. Islamic values such as tolerance, empathy, and justice are considered relevant in strengthening multicultural education that focuses on students' mental well-being. A descriptive quantitative method was used in this study. Data were collected through a questionnaire of the mental health scale distributed to a population of all Indonesian Education University students, with a total of 23,716 students and a sample of 377 students using a random sampling method and descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results showed that most students were in the moderate (59.15%) and high (40.58%) mental health categories. Based on the distribution of mental health dimensions, psychological aspects tend to be low, physical aspects tend to be moderate, and moral-social aspects tend to be high. Based on these findings, multicultural education strategies that incorporate Islamic education values are directed at strengthening the psychological dimension, developing the physical dimension, and maintaining the moral-social dimension. This research confirms that cooperation between Islamic education values, multicultural education, and mental health is essential to build an inclusive and harmonious educational environment.
