This research was a field research with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in Samarinda, Balikpapan, and East Kutai involving 9 (nine) Islamic elementary schools (MI) in East Kalimantan using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection techniques used interview, observation, and documentation. Data were then analyzed through data display, data condensation, and conclusion drawing/verification, and presented using descriptive techniques. The results revealed that the planning of learning was through the 2013 curriculum simplification, the simplification of the syllabus and lesson plans, online learning training for teachers, preparation of facilities and infrastructure, and socialization. The implementation of learning was done by determining the time, using the learning management system (LMS), determining the appropriate method and media, applying a variety of learning, and giving assignments and assessments. Evaluation was seen from student attendance that was 60%-95%, KKM that only reached 67%, the obstacles faced, as well as solutions or follow-up carried out by schools to minimize the problems. The challenges were how to provide equal facilities and infrastructure, increase teacher, parent and student digital literacy, and to create meaningful interaction during online learning. The key success factors of online learning implementation at MI included the availability of adequate gadgets, internet data and stable internet network, consistent collaboration between teachers and parents, and readiness of teachers and students.

Abstract

The background of this research is that Early Childhood Education teachers play an important role in interactions both as teachers in learning and as mentors and counselors for children. PAUD (Early Childhood Education) teachers are expected to have counseling communication skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to ask questions. This research aimed to find out the ability of Early Childhood Education Teachers in East Kalimantan in counseling communication. The research design was descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were Early Childhood Education Teachers from 8 PAUD institutions in 4 (four) City Districts in the East Kalimantan regions. There are Samarinda, Bontang, Kutai Kartanegara, and Kutai Timur. This subject was taken purposively from two teachers selected in each institution that was used as a place of research. The research object was the teacher's ability to conduct counseling communication by attending, empathizing, asking questions, and active listening skills. From this study, the researcher concluded that most Early Childhood Education Teachers can empathize but have not implemented empathic communication and effective listening in asking questions to explore children's emotions and thoughts. Most teachers used advising, seducing, persuading, and diverting children's problems in counseling communication. For further suggestions, school principals should evaluate the teachers’ ability in counseling communication to children and implement teacher counseling communication through tutorials and training among colleagues or peer tutors among teachers.

Abstract

Efforts to strengthen religious moderation in the madrasah environment are strongly influenced by the madrasah teacher's perception of religious moderation. It relates to the extent of the socialization of religious moderation to madrasah teachers. The study aims to describe the socialization of religious moderation to madrasah teachers in East Kalimantan and their perceptions of the importance of religious moderation for students. An online survey was conducted of 73 madrasah teachers in East Kalimantan. The survey consists of two close-ended questions and one open-ended question. The answers of close-ended questions were processed and presented descriptively. The answers of open-ended questions were analyzed through the stages of reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed that the majority of respondents (78%) have participated in socialization about religious moderation. Most respondents (91%) also agree that religious moderation is important for students. The reasons for the importance of religious moderation for students are to foster student tolerance, maintain the integrity of the nation, prevent extreme religious attitudes, adequate to the needs of the era, part of the obligatory of Allah SWT and so that students do not dichotomize between religious knowledge and general science. Even so, there are still teachers who doubt the importance of religious moderation for students. Therefore, efforts are needed to strengthen sustainable religious moderation in order to realize a common perception of religious moderation in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

This paper describes the efforts of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in increasing teacher professionalism in the digital era through the Kurt Lewin model of change management. A digital era is a form of change, and for this reason, teachers who can also adapt to existing changes are needed. One of the competencies that must be possessed by the teachers is the ability to use ICT. Lewin's change management model identified three stages toward change: unfreeze, change, and refreeze. The analogy of these stages is the process of ice blocks to be reformed as desired; it needs to be melted first (unfreeze), then put into molds according to the desired shape (change) and refrozen (refreeze) into different blocks. The researcher conducted interviews with several informants at MI Mambaul Ulum to obtain valid and accountable data using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out through data collection, data condensation, data display, and data verification/conclusion.The research results obtained are first, the forms of the unfreeze stages at MI Mambaul Ulum, namely needs analysis, implementing EDM and RKAM, comparative studies and forming the structure of the madrasah. Second, the forms of the change stages at MI Mambaul Ulum are providing opportunities for further study, training, preparation learning tools, micro and peer teaching, MoU, and curriculum change. Third, the forms of refreeze at MI Mambaul Ulum are a culture of quality, supervision and giving rewards and punishments. With this change management, it is expected that teachers at MI Mambaul Ulum can achieve indicators of teacher professionalism in the digital era.
