Lamahu: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Terintegrasi (Lamahu, P-ISSN: 2828-6839, E-ISSN: 2828-6677) is a peer-reviewed journal published by Department of Earth Science and Technology, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Lamahu provides open access to the principle that research published in this journal is freely available to the public to support the exchange of knowledge globally. Lamahu published two-issue articles per year namely February and August. Lamahu provides a place for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish scientific articles. Each text sent to Lamahu editor is reviewed by peer review. Starting from Vol. 1 No. 1 (February 2022), all manuscripts sent to the Lamahu editor are accepted in Bahasa Indonesia or English. Abstract

Processed food with an attractive appearance which is often sold by traders in the school environment is a special attraction for students to consume, including at SD Negeri 1 Bandar Batauga.  The large number of cases of health problems such as poisoning due to children consuming food and snacks sold in the area around the school without knowing whether the food is good for consumption or not is the basis for this activity to be carried out.  The service activity aims to educate elementary school-age children about healthy and nutritious food and snacks for consumption in the form of education which consists of four stages, namely observation, implementation of activities (education), evaluation, and reporting of activity results.  This activity took place at SD Negeri 1 Bandar Batauga and was attended by 22 students.  Service activities in the form of education have a positive influence on students' understanding and knowledge about healthy and nutritious food preparations. This is based on the results of activity evaluations which show that 81% of participants are in the good category (understand), 14% are in the sufficient category (somewhat understand) and 5 % are categorized as lacking (lack of understanding).  Overall, service activities run in accordance with the stated objectives.

Abstract

Every individual has a good life goal. One of the ways an individual can achieve their goals is through financial success. A person's intelligence in achieving financial success starts from how they can set goals, make financial plans, and manage their finances. Financial education through the introduction of investment to students will reflect financial behaviour that can affect their future welfare level. This community service was carried out at the Islamic boarding school of Tarbiyatul Banin, Dukupuntang, Cirebon Regency, by a Faculty of Economics and Business, Kuningan University team. This service aims to create a young generation that is competent in investment. The methods used in this activity include delivering financial education materials, interactive discussions, and evaluations through quizzes and questionnaires. This activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the basic concepts of investment, capital markets, and the risks associated with investment. These results are expected to provide a positive contribution in preparing a younger generation that is better prepared to face financial challenges in the future.

Abstract

The background of the implementation of this community service is based on the many incidents of environment-based diseases that occur at every level of society as a result of the phenomenon of climate change. Education about environment-based diseases is a solution that can be offered in the context of anticipating climate change disaster adaptation and mitigation. The purpose of this community service is to provide information to the public regarding climate literacy and the importance of efforts to prevent and overcome various environmental-based disease events. The method in this community service is a quantitative method involving 39 Public Health students at Universitas Prima Nusantara Bukittinggi, who were selected by purposive sampling, after the education is carried out, the group will be given a test instrument to determine student knowledge about environment-based diseases and global climate change. The analysis technique used is a descriptive technique which is carried out to map the knowledge gained by students. The results of this community service are able to provide new knowledge to students related to the incidence of environment-based diseases as an impact of global climate change, by getting the most scores in the good predicate interval (71-85), reaching  46.15% of the total students. And it is concluded that the educational method on environment-based diseases is effective to be given in the context of adaptation and mitigation of climate change disasters. The findings obtained can be taken into consideration for the community on the importance of increasing knowledge in achieving a balance of human quality of life with environmental quality in the context of achieving the 3rd SDGs, namely guaranteed health and well-being and the 13th SDGs, namely climate action.

Abstract

Mental health is a crucial aspect in physical activities such as pencak silat, although it often receives less attention, even though mental balance plays an important role in optimal performance. This community service aims to improve Pencak Silat Tapak Suci Pimwil XXXI cadres' understanding of mental health and relaxation techniques that can be applied in training. The methods used include lectures on mental health, relaxation technique practice sessions, and group discussions, with evaluations to measure participant understanding and the effectiveness of the methods applied. The results showed that 60% of participants considered the program's objectives very clear, and 50% felt the material presented was satisfactory; most participants considered the delivery method effective in improving their understanding. In conclusion, this program succeeded in increasing cadres' awareness and knowledge about mental health, and it is recommended to be continued and developed further with an emphasis on integrating relaxation techniques into pencak silat training routines to achieve better mental balance.

Abstract

This community service is carried out to develop students ' writing talents, improve short story writing skills, and foster an interest in reading and writing. It aims to explain the importance of intensive training in writing short stories to awaken the literary talent of NWDI Pancor Kopong Junior High School students, which amounts to 15 people. The reason for choosing this topic is based on the awareness of the importance of developing creative writing skills in education and the recognition of the potential of literature as a means of self-expression and understanding that is important for the development of students. The approach used in the service is a training approach that includes the stages of planning, action, observation and reflection, and results. The planning stage includes the identification of students ' talents through questionnaires and interviews, as well as the preparation of training materials based on relevant literature. The action stage involves several weeks of intensive training focusing on developing the idea, drafting the plot, characterization and editing the script. Continuous observation is used to monitor the development of students ' skills, while the reflection stage evaluates the training results and designs improvements for the next stage. The evaluation results showed that this training was successful in improving students ' ability to develop short story ideas (80%), develop story plots (75%), describe character characters (85%), and edit scripts (70%). Further action plans include the refinement of training modules based on feedback and an increased focus on more in-depth writing techniques to ensure optimal achievement in the development of students ' literary talents.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on strengthening the understanding and application of tax accounting in the property industry, essential for improving tax compliance and efficiency. The targets of this activity include industry partners in the property sector located in Surabaya and Batu, East Java, as well as students involved in developing their practical skills. This activity aims to strengthen the skills of industry partners in tax calculation and reporting and develop solutions that can be integrated into their tax accounting practices. The methods used include observation to identify challenges and needs of industry partners, theoretical and practical training on tax calculation, and evaluation of activity results through questionnaires. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in the knowledge and skills of industry partners related to tax accounting. The evaluation also identified the need to integrate tax planning into management and develop more efficient tax accounting applications.

Abstract

Financial literacy in Indonesia, especially in rural areas, still needs to be improved. In Sindangkasih District, Majalengka, three elementary schools face challenges in teaching financial literacy to students. This community service program aims to instill an understanding of financial literacy and encourage creative practices for students to manage their finances. Financial literacy education is carried out through conventional methods, including three stages: planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of this activity show that students' understanding of money management reaches an average of more than 60%, and the frequency of students' saving activities is around twice a week. These findings indicate that students can gradually understand and apply financial literacy education, especially through routine savings habits.

Abstract

More facilities and infrastructure are needed to improve Physical Education learning in schools. This community service activity aims to overcome this problem at SMAN 1 Dulupi, Boalemo Regency, through education of Penjas learning media based on augmented reality. This activity is designed to provide basic understanding and training in using augmented reality learning media so that the learning process can run effectively despite limited facilities. The methods used in this activity include participatory education and direct assistance. Evaluation is carried out by measuring students' understanding of augmented reality technology and their practical skills. The activity results showed that 96% of participants understood augmented reality technology, and 100% knew how to use augmented reality-based learning media. This activity is expected to encourage the government to develop programs that support integrating technology into learning to facilitate students' understanding.

Abstract

Infographics are a popular form of information today. Infographics use a visual concept approach combined with interesting illustrations because they combine data with colorful designs. Based on these advantages, infographics can be developed as an information and promotion medium for a nature tourism area, namely Ant Island Nature Tourism Pekanbaru. This activity aims to create infographics. The service was carried out at the computer lab of the Faculty of Forestry and Science, Lancang Kuning University, from December 2023 to January 2024. Partners are natural tourism managers, totaling five people. The activities carried out include providing materials, practicing the creation of infographics, assisting the community, and evaluating the partners' knowledge and skills. The evaluation results showed that the partners had increased their knowledge about the meaning, benefits, types, and examples, and how to make infographics of nature tourism on Semut Island, Pekanbaru, by 60%. In addition, the partners were also able to make infographics about the nature tourism area of Semut Island, Pekanbaru, in accordance with the knowledge that the partners had received.

Abstract

Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by high body sugar levels, but the body does not utilize them. Based on data from 2023, 14% of Indonesia's population has diabetes. The spread of diabetes also penetrates rural areas, posing a threat to rural areas and threatening the health of rural communities, and Saentis Village is no exception. The program "Healthy Movement Together: Blood Sugar Checking to Support the 9 Pillars of Health Transformation" is a community service initiative that aims to increase public health awareness. Some people in Saentis Village have a history of diabetes. This activity aims to provide education and conduct initial screening for diabetes. The service method is carried out by collaborating between medical personnel, local government, and the community. The activity began by providing education about the dangers and early symptoms of diabetes and continued by conducting an initial diabetes screening by checking blood sugar. Ninety-six people attended this activity. Based on the results of the examination, it was found that as many as 17 people had high blood sugar levels, and as many as 14 people experienced hyperglycemia. Based on the results of the screening that has been carried out, it is known that there are people who are not aware of the importance of maintaining a lifestyle, so there are still 14.6% of people who have pre-diabetes conditions, so it is necessary to check HbA1C.
