Abstract

The purpose of this research article is to explain how Student Digital Monitoring (MODIS) is implemented in schools and identify the components that support and inhibit it. This research is based on qualitative research with phenome-nological design conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Surakarta. The data collection methods used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings of this research article are that the implementation of MODIS as a program aims to improve the character and ability of students in accordance with Profil pelajar Pancasila, namely faith, piety, and noble character. Monitoring activities are carried out on student worship activities at home through digital supervision of students, there are three indicators that are in accordance with the profile of Pancasila students: faith and piety, which is shown by prayer and recitation, and noble character, which is shown by birrul walidain, or filial piety to both parents. Supporting and inhibiting factors for digital monitoring of students include the presence of devices, internet networks, or internet, and parental support. This student digital monitoring program can run well and achieve school goals with this supporting element. One of the obstacles is poor skills in filling out Google forms due to the absence of a data plan and steps that are too complicated. To solve this problem, schools have created barcodes and given penalties to students who don't.

Abstract

In today’s era, many children face challenges, including a declining interest in attending mosques and participating in mosque-related activities. Addressing this issue requires the collective effort of the government, parents, educators, the community, and other stakeholders. Schools, as key educational institutions, play a crucial role in instilling and applying religious values in children. Parents aspire for their children to be intelligent, pious, memorizing the Quran (hafidz), and deeply connected to the mosque. This aspiration inspired Laznas Nurul Hayat and the Khairunnas Education Foundation to introduce an innovative program: “School in the Mosque.” This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the mosque-based Islamic education program at SD Khairunnas 2 Surabaya and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its execution. The study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing observations, interviews, and documentation for data collection. Data analysis followed the Miles & Huberman model. Findings of this study indicated that the Khairunnas Education Foundation, established by LAZNAS Nurul Hayat in 2018 in Surabaya, is dedicated to enhancing education in Indonesia across various levels, from early childhood (KB-TK) to higher education (KEPQ). One of its key initiatives is SD Khairunnas 2 Surabaya, which has successfully implemented a mosque-based Islamic education program in collaboration with As-Shobirin Mosque and Al-Haq Mosque. The implementation of this program is influenced by four key factors: (1) communication, (2) resources, (3) disposition, and (4) bureaucratic structure.

Abstract

As major institutions, Pesantren Sidogiri and Pesantren Langitan have long been developing information technology (IT) within their pesantren environments. At Pondok Pesantren Sidogiri in Pasuruan, the Agency for System and Information Technology Development (BPSTI) was established in 2013 to manage all information system needs (software) and oversee website services (Sidogiri.net) as well as pesantren administration. Meanwhile, at Pondok Pesantren Langitan in Tuban, a similar initiative led to the launch of the Majalahlangitan.com website in 2013. Over time, Langitan formed the Media Dakwah Langitan, an umbrella organization managing Majalah Langitan (print), Langitan TV (YouTube channel), radio streaming, and various social media platforms. This study examined the role of IT in the development of Islamic scholarship at these two pesantren through a qualitative study approach, presenting findings in a narrative-descriptive format. Using a multisite study method, it focuses on two renowned pesantren in Java. The results highlight that IT plays a crucial role in advancing the academic aspects of both pesantren. Generally, its implementation falls into three main categories: pesantren governance, dissemination of Islamic knowledge, and support for educational references.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the activities of religious counselors and assess public interest in flyer media for guidance and counseling. Religious counselors were responsible for providing counseling services, developing guidance materials, and engaging in professional development. Before conducting counseling sessions, they had to prepare monographs, activity plans, guidance materials, and evaluation instruments. This qualitative study conducted observation, interviews, and documentary analysis as data collection techniques using a descriptive method. The findings indicated that religious counselors’ responsibilities included preparation, counseling services, work plan development, guidance material preparation, implementation, counseling assistance, religious conflict mediation, monitoring and evaluation, cross-sector collaboration, guidance model development, and the formulation of counseling guidelines. Additionally, flyer media effectively attracted public and congregants’ interest in reading, particularly when distributed as e-flyers through social media. E-flyers enabled faster, broader, and more targeted dissemination while incorporating a call to action that encouraged readers to explore further content on the religious counselor’s blog.
