Abstract

Hakim Educational Toys is a home-based business located at Jalan Pedamaran Tamtin RT 02 RW 04 Kauman District, Semarang City. UMKM Hakim Educational Toys operates in the field of making children's educational toys. Marketing is still carried out using conventional methods, namely by selling through street vendors. This method makes the target market narrow because it only reaches the area around the production site. Conventional marketing is also felt to be less effective in improving the business development process. By designing the marketplace as a digital-based marketing medium, it is hoped that it can increase the turnover and productivity of Hakim Educational Toys MSMEs.

Abstract

One of the activities of the Faculty of Economics Management Study Program at the University of Simalungun is Community Service. Where, in this case it is conveyed that this is an assignment activity from the Cost Accounting Management course. Here, it can be seen that this community service is assisting entrepreneurs' ability to determine variable costs in increasing profitability at UD. AGUS SITAH Kikil Lembu in Huta III Sahkuda Bayu, Simalungun. We do this assistance so that Ox Pebble Entrepreneurs can increase profitability by including variable costs in the income statement. Here we introduce and apply variable costs to the income statement that can help entrepreneurs. The methods we use in making this journal are interview and qualitative. In this activity we also have several important stages such as, Planning Stage, Observation Stage, Training and Mentoring Stage, and Reporting Stage. Here it is known that the results during this activity run effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Scabies cases in the working area of the Sukadamai Inpatient Health Center look quite high, with numbers from 24 cases to 107 cases until December 2023. This shows that Scabies is still a significant health problem among students in Islamic boarding schools. PHBS (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior) refers to the practice of maintaining cleanliness and healthy living habits in daily life. This is an important aspect in preventing the spread of diseases, including Scabies. Good knowledge of PHBS can reduce the risk of Scabies in Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of analyzing the results of the evaluation of PHBS knowledge and trends in Scabies cases in Islamic boarding schools is to find out to help identify obstacles and obstacles that stand in the way of preventing and transmitting the incidence of Scabies disease in students in Islamic boarding schools and identifying how PHBS knowledge affects the possibility of Scabies among students. Observation and documentation were the methods used to collect data for this study. From the observations, it was found that before counseling, students' knowledge was limited, but after counseling, students' knowledge became good and understood about Scabies disease and its prevention. Scabies counseling in Islamic boarding schools has a significant impact in increasing students' awareness, knowledge, and behavior about Scabies, as well as helping to reduce the incidence and treatment of Scabies among students

Abstract

Hypertension is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and its prevalence increases with age. Hypertension is a chronic condition characterised by increased arterial blood pressure. In Indonesia, the prevalence of hypertension ranges from 45.9% in people aged 55-64 years to 63.8% in people aged 75 years and over. Hypertension is known as the "silent killer" because it often appears without symptoms and requires early detection to prevent complications such as heart disease, stroke and kidney failure. This activity uses the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) method for continuous improvement in the health examination process, including blood pressure measurement. 61 participants (14 men and 47 women) participated in this activity at the Hana Nursing Home in South Tangerang. A physical examination revealed that 11 people (18.03%) had hypertension. Regular monitoring is essential to identify high-risk individuals early, allowing them to take preventive measures and manage their blood pressure effectively. This approach can significantly reduce the risk of serious complications and improve the quality of life for seniors.

Abstract

Aging causes degenerative changes in the auditory system, making ear health an important aspect of geriatric care. Hearing loss is common in elderly and impacts in their quality of life, mental health and cognitive function. Self-cleaning of the ears, involves inserting objects into the ear canal, poses significant risks including earwax accumulation and eardrum injury. This causes conditions such as otitis externa and tympanic membrane perforation. This activity uses the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology, which aims for physical examination and ear health education. This activity involved 38 participants, 12 men and 26 women. Physical examination revealed 2 participants (5.3%) with right and left eardrum perforations, 9 participants (23.7%) with prop cerumen in the right ear, and 8 participants (21.1%) in the left ear. Implementing proper ear care practices and regular physical ear examinations, elderly can improve their hearing health and quality of life.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan layanan masyarakat melaluai website Badan Permusyawaratan Kalurahan. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah anggota Badan Permusyawaratan Kalurahan dan Pamong Desa. Ada tiga tahapan kegiatan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Metode yang dilakukan adalah pelayanan publik terhadap peraturan kalurahan dan workshop pengelolaan website. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian telah terlaksana dengan baik. Para peserta antusias dan berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan ini. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari masukan peserta terhadap bentuk menu website dan hasil evaluasi, yang menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang penggunaan website sebagai salah satu bentuk layanan inovasi peraturan kalurahan.

Abstract

Mastery of AutoCAD software for engineering students is very necessary to assist in technical drawing. Training using AutoCAD software for engineering students at Nusa Putra University can help them to better understand design in both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional drawing using AutoCAD software. The training was carried out in 3 sessions, namely a theoretical presentation session by the resource person, followed by a drawing practicum which was attended by students using computers in the Nusa Putra University engineering laboratory, the last was a question and answer session. This activity received a positive response from students and lecturers so it needs to be held every year.

Abstract

One of the places in the Kuta Baro sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province, is Lambunot Paya Village. Due to Lambunot Paya village's location in a rice field settlement, the majority of the population makes their living as farmers. The surrounding community does not give enough attention to a number of issues, including the problem of freed cattle, which results in an abundance of animal waste in the area, according to the THEMATIC Community Service Lecture (KPM) of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Ar-Raniry, which was held for 40 days in Lambunot Paya Village. During the work program implementation phase, students complete a number of agreed-upon work programs based on their respective scientific disciplines. One such program involves teaching the residents of Lambunot Paya Village science through hands-on compost fertilizer production. The pupils' next work program involves utilizing processed fertilizer to sow vegetables and toga plants.

Abstract

Herbal medicine is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages that still survives and remains preserved. This healthy drink, originally made in Indonesia, is the people's choice. Jamu, as a herbal medicine that people have consumed for hundreds of years, needs to be labeled with a name for various purposes, such as people knowing the names of herbal medicine plants and at the same time people are aware of the biodiversity in the form of plants around them that have properties that are good for our bodies. Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) can be used to make herbal medicine. This activity aims to introduce the cultivation of drinking herbal medicine as an implementation of the National Movement for getting fit with herbal medicine at SLB Purwosari Kudus. The results of the counseling can be seen from the increase in knowledge about herbal medicine as seen from the way the Purwosari Kudus SLB students answered with enthusiasm and interest in herbal medicine as traditional medicine.

Abstract

This study investigates the enhancement of English speaking skills through the storytelling method at SMK Budi Utomo Binjai in 2022. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of storytelling as a pedagogical tool in improving students' verbal communication abilities in English. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and tests administered before and after the intervention. Findings indicate a significant improvement in students' speaking skills, with notable advancements in fluency, vocabulary usage, and confidence. The storytelling method proved to be an engaging and effective strategy, fostering a more interactive and participatory classroom environment. These results suggest that incorporating storytelling into language learning curricula can significantly enhance students' speaking proficiency, offering valuable implications for educators seeking innovative approaches to teaching English.
