Abstract

This research aimed at analyzing and knowing the difference on critical thinking ability of the tenth-grade students of Science between before and after implementing Learning Cycle 5E learning model. It was conducted on the second semester in the Academic Year of 2017/2018 at the tenth grade of Science 2 of Islamic Senior High School of Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru, and the material was about Stoichiometry. This research was Descriptive, and the one group pretest-posttest design was used. Purposive sampling was used in this research and 21 students were the samples. The instrument was essay in the forms of pretest and posttest, and the instruments used to strengthen the data were observation sheet and interview. The data analysis result showed that student critical thinking ability taught by using Learning Cycle 5E learning model was on good category. The most dominant indicator of high, medium, and low student critical thinking ability was giving simple explanation with N-Gain that was 0.63, and the lowest indicator was making further explanation with N-Gain that was 0.39. The result of student interview showed that students were interested in Learning Cycle 5E learning.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the significant relationship between the discovery learning learning model and short story writing material for class XI SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Kakap. The method used in this research is a correlation study method, using a form of relationship study. The population in this study were all class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Kakap. The sample used was class XI MIPA 2, totaling 31 students. The data collection method used was the distribution of questionnaires and short story writing tests aimed at measuring the relationship between the discovery learning model and short story writing material. Data analysis uses the product moment correlation formula. The research results obtained an rxy of 0.438 and a 5% significance level table with N = 31 of 0.344. The data shows rxy > rtable which means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it is concluded that there is a relationship between the discovery learning model and the short story writing material for class XI SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Kakap.

Abstract

This study was conducted to produce learning media in the form of learning videos used by teachers in learning activities. Teachers use learning media in the form of videos taken from YouTube. Because teachers do not have their own learning videos designed. Videos taken from YouTube also do not support the material delivered because the content of the material from the videos taken from YouTube is not in accordance with the learning objectives, namely the video does not describe the latest material that is in accordance with the student's handbook, as a result students find it difficult to understand the contents of the videos delivered by the teacher. The use of available learning media is very limited during the learning process. The media used during learning is still infocus. Therefore, other learning resources are needed to help students understand. One effort to facilitate the learning process is by having media in the form of learning videos. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of learning media in the form of learning videos on the material of the circulatory system for SMA/MA class XI which is valid and practical. The type of research used is development research with a 4D development research model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). This research was carried out until the development stage, namely the validity test and practicality test. The results of the validity test showed that this learning video was in the very valid criteria with a validity value of 91%. The results of the practicality test by the teacher showed a value of 81% with practical criteria and the results of the practicality test of the learning video by students showed a value of 86% with very practical criteria. It can be concluded that the learning video on the material of the circulatory system for the SMA/MA level that was developed is valid and practical.

Abstract

Peran guru sebagai agen perubahan merupakan faktor penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan jalannya inovasi pendidikan di Indonesia. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran guru sebagai agen perubahan yang menentukan keberhasilan pelaksanaan inovasi pendidikan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi saat ini. Artikel ini merupakan studi literatur dengan jenis kualitatif deskriptif dengan kajian kepustakaan yang berusaha menggambarkan peran guru sebagai agen perubahan. Pada artikel ini penulis menggunakan berbagai sumber tertulis seperti artikel, jurnal, dan dokumen yang relevan dengan kajian pada artikel ini. Studi literatur ini fokus pada peran guru, agen perubahan dan strategi pembelajaran. Hasil studi literatur menunjukkan bahwa guru sebagai agen perubahan memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan jalannya inovasi pendidikan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi saat ini.. Laporan dalam artikel ini menekankan bahwa guru seyogyanya terus belajar untuk menjalankan tugasnya sebagai agen perubahan, sehingga mereka dapat menjalankan tugas dengan baik dengan menyesuaikan dengan perkembangan teknologi untuk membuat proses pembelajaran yang aktif, komunikatif, efektif dan menarik

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus melalui penerapan kegiatan menggambar pada anak usia 4 sampai 5 tahun. Penelitian dilakukan di Sekolah Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus KASIH BUNDA. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 10 anak. Kemampuan motorik halus merupakan aspek penting pada perkembangan anak usia usia 4-5 tahun membutuhkan pengembangan dengan tepat agar berkembang dengan optimal. Setelah dilakukan penelitian selama dua siklus dengan lima kali pertemuan pada 10 anak peserta didik Sekolah Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus KASIH BUNDA melalui penerapan kegiatan menggambar telah terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik. Pendekatan ini melibatkan penggunaan berbagai media gambar, teknik, & pendekatan pedagogis sesuatu sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak tunarungu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah penelitian tindakan kelas (Action Research) dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi & refleksi. Setelah dilakukan tindakan maka dengan penerapan kegiatan menggambar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus terbukti terjadi peningkatan pada siklus I meningkat 10% & pada siklus ke 2 meningkat sebesar 80%.

Abstract

The study investigates the relationship between reading literacy, numeracy, and science learning outcomes among ninth-grade students at Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Mutiara Sunnah Palembang. It aims to address persistent challenges in literacy and numeracy within Islamic boarding schools, emphasizing their impact on academic performance. Employing a quantitative approach with a correlational method, data were collected from 28 students using literacy and numeracy tests alongside science scores from national assessments. Results reveal a strong positive correlation between reading literacy and science outcomes (r = 0.701, p < 0.01), underscoring the critical role of reading skills in comprehending scientific concepts. Numeracy showed a weaker, non-significant relationship (r = 0.336, p = 0.080) with science outcomes but was strongly correlated with literacy (r = 0.601, p < 0.05). These findings highlight the interconnectedness of literacy and numeracy as foundational competencies for science education. The study recommends integrative educational strategies that combine traditional methods with modern technologies to enhance these skills, ultimately improving students' academic success and preparedness for 21st-century challenges.

Abstract

Sumber belajar ditetapkan sebagai informasi yang disajikan dan disimpan dalam berbagai bentuk media, yang dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar sebagai perwujudan dari kurikulum. Bentuknya tidak terbatas apakah dalam bentuk cetakan, video, format perangkat lunak atau kombinasi dari berbagai format yang dapat digunakan oleh siswa ataupun guru. Berbagai upaya dilakukan oleh guru sebagai pengelola pendidik untuk lebih meningkatkan dan mendukung proses pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan efesien. Banyak faktor yang menentukan kualitas hasil pendidikan atau pembelajaran, salah satu terkait dengan pusat sumber belajar. Banyak berbagai sumber yang bisa dijadikan sebagai pusat sumber belajar, salah satunya adalah laboratarium. Adapun dalam pengelolaan laboratorium di suatu lembaga pendidikan terdapat menajemen yang merancang dan mengelola laboratorium agar lebih efektif dalam pemanfaatan sesuai dengan pembelajaran. Manajemen laboratorium adalah usaha untuk mengelola laboratorium. Bagaimana suatu laboratorium dapat dikelola dengan baik sangat ditentukan oleh beberpa faktor yang saling berkaitan satu dengan yang lainnya. Beberapa alat laboratorium yang cangih dengan staf operasional yang terampil belum belum tentu dapat beroperasi dengan baik, jika tidak didukung oleh adanya manajemen laboratorium yang baik. Informan penelitian merupakan seseorang yang memiliki informasi mengenai objek penelitian tersebut. Informan penelitian adalah informan yang bisa memberikan informasi dan data yang dibutuhkan dalam suatu penelitian. Abstract

Speaking skills currently require serious approaches to be learned together. Through the combined language skill integrating with listening skills, it is certainly relevant to improve communicative abilities. This study aims to explore integrated language skill techniques, particularly combining speaking and listening, to enhance communicative abilities in learners within the “Effortless English Program” by AJ. Hoge. This study utilized a qualitative descriptive design with content analysis. Data were collected from a sample of 37 out of 255 episodes of A.J. Hoge’s Effortless English Podcast, featuring Hoge’s broadcasts and discussions among English club members. The findings showed the Effortless English Program applied six key techniques in the Effortless English Program, such as (1) TPR Storytelling, (2) Listen and Answer, (3) Point of View Mini Story, (4) Simultaneous Listening and Reading, (5) Repetitive Listening and Speaking, and (6) Listen to Movie, significantly aided learners in developing speaking skills. This integrated approach is recommended as a practical alternative for formal or informal English instruction at various proficiency levels and ages. These techniques hopefully should be alternative strategies and new concepts reviewed by teachers and applied for students/learners in classroom activity.

Abstract

This research is included in a quantitative research that aims to determine the relationship between intelligence and the learning outcomes of Basic Electronic Engineering (DTE) majoring in Electronic Engineering (TE) at SMKN 1 Cikande. The type of research used is correlation with data collection methods including questionnaires, observations and learning outcome tests. The stages in the study consist of 3 stages. The first stage of testing questionnaire items and learning outcome tests involved 3 experts, the second stage was a trial conducted on grade X students majoring in Electronics Engineering (TE) at SMKN 4 Kota Serang and the third stage of direct research of 36 respondents in grade X students majoring in Electronics Engineering (TE) at SMKN 1 Cikande. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The conditional analysis test consists of a normality test and a linearity test. Then the hypothesis test carried out consisted of a simple regression analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that there was a relationship between spiritual intelligence and learning outcomes with a significance value of 0 < 0.05 and a relationship level of 32%.

Abstract

Based on the researcher’s observations during an internship at SDN Malasan Wetan 1, Probolinggo Regency, many second-grade students were still unable to read fluently. This issue was due to the lack of teacher skills and innovation in teaching reading, as well as minimal parental involvement in developing students' reading skills. Additionally, teachers relied solely on textbooks provided by the school without utilizing supplementary learning media. This study aims to improve reading skills by implementing word card media in Indonesian language learning for second-grade students at SDN Malasan Wetan 1. Word card media consist of small cards containing words and pictures that serve as learning aids. Reading skills are measured based on three indicators: clarity, fluency, and pronunciation. This research follows a Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, focusing on the classroom learning process through two cycles. The CAR stages include planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study subjects were second-grade students, and data analysis employed both qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. Data collection methods included interviews, observations, tests, and documentation.The results showed that implementing word card media effectively improved students' reading skills. The average score increased from 60.59 with a 52.9% completion rate in cycle 1 to 79.41 with an 88.3% completion rate in cycle 2, indicating a 35.4% improvement. Therefore, word card media can enhance the reading skills of second-grade students at SDN Malasan Wetan 1.
