Abstract

Education must adapt, one way being by involving technology in the learning process. The delivery of material through images will facilitate the process while helping students to remember and understand it, especially material with a high level of complexity. SDN 101 Bungo still uses the Merdeka curriculum in every fourth grade class. The researcher conducted an initial observation at SDN 101 Bungo on October 20, 2025. The observation focused on IPAS (Science, Social Studies, and Culture) learning in Grade IV on the learning outcome where students analyze the relationship between the form and function of human body parts, namely the five senses (panca indra). The result showed that IPAS learning in that class only utilized textbooks. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) type of research. The development of a comic media assisted by Canva for Education on the five senses material in Grade IV of elementary school is highly valid, with a final material validation score of 3.95, a final media validation score of 4, and a final language validation score of 4.9. The level of practicality in the small group trial was an average of 4.6, and the large group average was 4.33. Therefore, from the interviews and the results of the questionnaire acquisition, the comic media assisted by Canva for Education on the five senses material in Grade IV of elementary school is concluded to be highly practical and efficient.

Abstract

Contextual communication skills are essential for elementary school students; however, Indonesian language learning still emphasizes structural and grammatical aspects, resulting in limited pragmatic competence. In addition, teaching materials have not optimally integrated local wisdom as a learning context. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of pragmatic teaching materials based on local wisdom using the language game method in elementary schools. The research employed a Design-Based Research (DBR) approach consisting of problem analysis, prototype design, implementation and revision, and reflection. The participants were teachers and fourth-grade students at a public elementary school in Bandung. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, expert validation, and pretest–posttest assessments of pragmatic skills. The results indicate that the developed teaching materials achieved very high validity in terms of readability, content relevance, and integration of local cultural values. The limited trial revealed a significant improvement in students’ pragmatic competence, as the average score increased from 74.00 on the pretest to 88.74 on the posttest. In conclusion, pragmatic teaching materials based on local wisdom and implemented through language games are effective in enhancing students’ pragmatic language skills, politeness, and active participation in elementary Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of cognitive learning theory through the media of Musi Board (Multifunctional Board) in improving the conceptual understanding of 5 Grade elementary school students in the Smallest Common Multiples (KPK). The research background is based on the global challenges in building students' mathematical conceptual thinking skills, which is exacerbated by the dominance of procedural methods. A descriptive qualitative approach was used to observe the process of constructing students' knowledge through interaction with the media of the Musi Board. Data were collected through passive participant observation and description diagnostic tests. The results of the study show that the Musi Board acts as an effective cognitive scaffolding, bridging students' concrete and abstract thinking through sensorimotor and manipulative experiences. Physical interaction with the media facilitates the visualization of patterns and relationships between numbers, forming an accurate mental representation of the concept of the KPK. In addition, these implementations create a dynamic and participatory learning environment, where group discussions deepen students' conceptual understanding and hone their metacognitive skills. In conclusion, the integration of cognitive learning theory with Musi Board media has proven to be effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools, shifting students' understanding from procedural memorization to deep conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of culture experience in ethnoscience-based Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in fostering elementary students’ cultural awareness. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed involving IPAS teachers and fourth-grade students as research participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data credibility was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of culture experience through local culture-based activities effectively integrates scientific concepts with cultural values in a contextual learning process. Ethnoscience-based IPAS learning plays a significant role in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding, learning engagement, and awareness of preserving local culture. These results suggest that culture experience is an effective approach to strengthening scientific literacy while fostering cultural awareness among elementary school students.

Abstract

The free nutritious meal program in elementary schools is a crucial strategy for addressing nutritional deficiencies and supporting improved student learning. This study aims to explore in depth the experiences, perceptions, and impacts of the free, nutritious meal program on students' learning readiness and Well-being. A qualitative approach using desk research methods was used to analyse academic literature, reports, and policies related to nutrition interventions in schools. The analysis was conducted using a descriptive and inductive approach, grouping findings into relevant themes. The free nutritious meal program is an investment in human capital that has the potential to strengthen the foundations of elementary school children's health, cognitive development, and education. Effective implementation requires strong governance, school community involvement, and sustainable policies. Further research is needed to assess the long-term impacts and better understand students' experiences. This study concludes that the free nutritious meal program functions as a multidimensional intervention that supports human capital development from an early age. Research implications include the importance of improving program governance, strengthening regulations, and integrating nutrition and education policies. Further research is recommended to examine the long-term impacts and develop implementation models that are more adaptive to local contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characters and characterization in the drama script "Pada Satu Hari" by Arifin C. Noer using a literary psychology approach and explore its relevance as a literary learning material for elementary school students. Arifin C. Noer's work is known for its richness in human values ​​and inner reflection, which are crucial for understanding the motivations and psychological dynamics of the characters. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with content analysis techniques. Data were obtained through in-depth reading and identification of the characters' psychological elements, which were then synthesized into teaching materials appropriate to the cognitive and affective development of elementary school students. The results show that the main character experiences an intrapersonal conflict between idealism and social reality. Characterization is complexly depicted through dialogue and actions that reflect a search for self-identity. In the context of elementary school education, the results of this analysis are adapted into teaching materials that emphasize character recognition, empathy, and simple conflict resolution. The novelty of this research lies in the effort to construct the results of a complex literary psychology analysis into applicable drama learning tools for elementary school students. These findings are expected to enrich educators' references in selecting drama texts that are able to build students' emotional intelligence and character through an appreciation of modern realistic literature.

Abstract

Students experience learning problems due to monotonous media usage in science lessons in fifth grade elementary school. This study created a water cycle diorama as a learning medium. Monotonous media usage causes students to lack motivation and fail to understand concepts properly. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. After being validated by subject matter experts and media experts, the developed media was tested on students. The validation results showed a very high level of feasibility, with subject matter expert scores of 78.5% and 93.8% and media expert scores of 72.9% and 80%. The diorama was able to visualize the water cycle process in an interesting and easy-to-understand manner, as indicated by the 88% response from students. The water cycle diorama is considered feasible, practical, and effective as a solution to overcome monotonous learning media and improve students' conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in Grade 5 science. Students' learning outcomes also increased significantly after using the media, as indicated by the increase in scores before and after learning.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ environmental responsibility and entrepreneurial skills through the introduction of the Adiwiyata project at SDIT Nurul Hikmah Sidoarjo. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 26 students from Grade 3 Hamasah. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed a significant improvement in both observed aspects. The average score of environmental responsibility increased from 61.6% in Cycle I to 81.15% in Cycle II, moving from the Developing to Highly Developed category. Meanwhile, the entrepreneurial skill aspect improved from 60.00% in Cycle I to 80.20% in Cycle II, also categorized as Highly Developed. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Adiwiyata project through the NATURA program (Natural Nutrients for Superior and Eco-Friendly Plants) effectively enhances students’ environmental awareness, responsibility, and entrepreneurial character at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of a technology-based curriculum through the strengthening of digital literacy of elementary school students in a case study at NH Elementary School. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews with the school principal and a fourth-grade teacher, classroom observations, and analysis of school curriculum documents. The results show that the use of technology at NH Elementary School is still instrumental and has not been integrated into a systematic digital literacy framework. The main limitation lies in teachers’ readiness to design technology-based learning frameworks, so learning tends to be passive. This study produces a one-semester mini digital literacy curriculum design as a model for strengthening more structured technology-based learning.
