The era of disruption, characterized by uncertainty, complexity, and rapid technological change, demands adaptive, visionary leadership. This study aims to analyze visionary leadership strategies for addressing uncertainty in the modern workplace and to examine their role in building resilient, sustainability-oriented organizations. The research method is a qualitative approach using library research, examining various scientific sources such as journals, books, and academic articles published over the last 3 years. The results show that visionary leadership plays an important role in integrating long-term vision with adaptive actions that are responsive to environmental changes. Visionary leaders build a collaborative, innovative, and flexible organizational culture through effective communication and data-driven decision-making. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing ISO 21001:2018, the Quality Management System, in State Islamic Universities and its contribution to improving the quality and outcomes of institutional accreditation. This research used a literature study approach, reviewing books, indexed international and national scientific articles, the web (internet), and several other relevant literature sources. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion/ verification. The results of the study show that the effectiveness of ISO 21001 implementation in State Islamic Universities is influenced by three main factors: transformational leadership, the internalization of a quality culture, and the integration of digital-based quality systems. All three encourage the creation of transparent, efficient, and sustainable academic governance. In addition, the implementation of ISO 21001 has been proven to strengthen the alignment between the internal quality assurance system and the BAN-PT national accreditation standards through an evidence-based approach. The integration of Islamic values, such as ihsan, amanah, and istiqamah, also enriches the implementation of the quality system by adding distinctive ethical and spiritual dimensions. This study concludes that ISO 21001:2018 is not only an administrative instrument, but also a reflective framework that forms a culture of sustainable quality in State Islamic Universities. The study’s results recommend policy synergy among the Ministry of Religion, BAN-PT, and ISO certification bodies to expand the adoption of a spirituality-based quality system and global standards in the Indonesian Islamic higher education environment.

Abstract

There is a tendency for Salafiyah Pesantren to experience a decrease in the number of students, and many are facing a decline in the scientific quality of their alums and current students. Culturally, the erosion of Salafiyah traditions has become increasingly apparent, ranging from the weakening sense of ta’zhim toward the Kyai, reduced learning persistence accompanied by tarikat rituals—fasting, wirid, and others—to diminishing belief in karomah and barakah once deeply embedded among students. This study aims to explain the leadership and management patterns employed by the Kyai in enhancing the educational quality of the Cidanghiang Salafiyah Pesantren. The research employed a qualitative approach in which data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, field notes, and triangulation. The findings indicate that the Kyai of the Cidanghiang Salafiyah Pesantren exercises charismatic informal authority combined with managerial competencies, demonstrating not only innate leadership talent but also a strategic and future-oriented vision for advancing Salafiyah-based educational services. In practice, the Kyai fulfils managerial roles involving planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and controlling the core academic and non-academic processes of the pesantren.

Abstract

This research aims to recontextualize the concept of assessment in Islamic education, particularly in madrasah institutions, to align with 21st-century demands. Using a library research approach, this study critically examines academic literature, educational policies, and the results of previous studies on the evaluation of learning in madrasas. The analysis used thematic and reflective synthesis to identify conceptual gaps and opportunities for developing a more comprehensive assessment model. The results of the study show that assessment practices in madrassas are still dominated by a cognitive approach and by the measurement of learning outcomes oriented toward memorization. The affective, spiritual, and social dimensions have not received adequate attention in the evaluation system. This condition underscores the urgent need to build an integrative, holistic, and Islamic-values-based assessment paradigm. Assessment is not only a tool for measuring academic achievement but also a means of building students’ character, morals, and spiritual awareness. This study emphasizes that recontextualizing madrasah assessments is a strategic step toward improving the quality of Islamic education. The theoretical implications lie in strengthening the concept of value-based evaluation, while the practical implications encourage teachers and educational institutions to develop assessment models that are humanistic and oriented towards the formation of human beings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles in Islamic education policy documents issued by the Ministry of Religion, especially the National Standards of Islamic Education (NSIE) and the guidelines of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS). The research approach uses a document-based descriptive qualitative method (library research), with content analysis techniques to assess the extent to which TQM principles, such as leadership, performance measurement, continuous improvement, stakeholder participation, and quality orientation, have been reflected in the policy. The results of the study show that the Ministry of Religion's document has emphasized leadership, performance measurement, and continuous improvement mechanisms, but the principles of external stakeholder involvement and overall quality culture are still limited. The analysis of the discussion emphasized that the integration of TQM in policies is progressive, but the effectiveness of its implementation depends on the capacity of institutions, the training of educators, and a more systematic mechanism of stakeholder engagement. This research provides implications for strengthening Islamic education policies, including the development of a quality culture based on Islamic values, improving student orientation, and providing technical guidance for the implementation of TQM in madrasas, Islamic boarding schools, and Islamic universities. The limitations of the research lie in the focus of document analysis, so that implementation practices in the field, perceptions of educators, and stakeholder responses are not explored directly. The next research recommendation is to evaluate the implementation of TQM empirically at the institutional level and develop a contextual and participatory quality management model.

Abstract

Improving the quality of Islamic higher education in Indonesia requires a quality assurance system that focuses not only on academic aspects but also on graduates’ professional competence. The Professional Certification Institutions or Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) serves as a strategic instrument for bridging the gap between the world of education and the world of work. This article analyzes the role of LSP in improving the quality of Islamic higher education, focusing on policy, implementation, and its contribution to strengthening graduates’ competitiveness. This research uses the library research method, examining academic literature, regulations, and relevant institutional reports. The results of the study show that the presence of LSP in Islamic universities significantly improves the quality of graduates, especially by strengthening employability, curriculum relevance, and a culture of institutional quality. LSP also serves as a means of integrating professional competence with Islamic values, making certification not just a technical assessment but also a process of shaping Islamic character and work ethics. However, the effectiveness of LSP implementation remains influenced by human resource challenges, limited testing facilities, and a lack of synergy between academic curricula and industry standards. This study concludes that strengthening LSP in Islamic universities should focus on developing assessor capacity, digitizing the certification system, and fostering sustainable collaboration with the industrial world and Islamic institutions. With professional governance and Islamic values, LSP can be the main catalyst in realizing superior, relevant, and globally competitive Islamic higher education.
