Jurnal Pengabdian Agro and Marine Industry (JPAMI) merupakan jurnal pengabdian perdana lingkup Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Teuku Umar. Jurnal ini memuat hasil-hasil pengabdian masyarakat baik yang dilakukan oleh dosen, dan atau mahasiswa-dosen. Adapun bidang kajiannya meliputi output pengabdian masyarakat baik berupa produk, protype, model dan output lainnya, khususnya di bidang agro/pertanian, marine/perikanan dan industry/UMKM-Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah. Namun demikian tidak menutup kemungkinan dari rumpun ilmu lain pada umumnya dan diutamakan yang subjeknya masih terkait dengan pertanian, perikanan dan industry. Lebih jauh lagi objek pengabdian berada dalam lingkup desa/daerah sekitar kampus, Kawasan Baersela/Barat Selatan Provinsi Aceh, Provinsi Aceh sendiri, Indonesia bahkan luar negeri. Publikasi jurnal pengabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan para dosen dan mahasiswa dapat berkontribusi dalam masyarakat dan pada akhirnya masyarakat dapat menerapkan output hasil pengabdian tersebut untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat menuju perekonomian yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The creation of tourism-aware youth groups, or Pokdarwis, in various communities along the coast of Aceh Jaya Regency has demonstrated actual awareness of the huge potential of tourism. Pokdarwis Pasie Luah, located in Dayah Baroe Village, Krueng Sabee District, is one of these pokdarwis. Teuku Umar University collaborates with Pokdarwis Pasie Luah through community service activities to improve the quality of human resources in the tourism sector and to develop a marketing mix plan to entice tourists to visit tourist spots in Aceh Jaya. The execution of capacity building training and culinary instruction is the concrete aspect of this community service initiative.  Electric scooters, tents, and advertising materials have also been supplied to assist with promotional operations in order to boost visitor visits. Community service activities that contribute to the empowerment of the Pasie Luah Pokdarwis could serve as a model for initiatives to empower other pokdarwis in Aceh Jaya Regency. So that the results of this community program can be sustained and turned into a movement for all tourist stakeholders to work together to promote the Aceh Jaya tourism sector.

Abstract

In the dynamic realm of modern tourism promotion, the influence of social media cannot be ignored. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the art of copywriting is emerging as an indispensable tool for capturing audiences and driving target market engagement. This article discusses the implementation of copywriting training in the context of promoting tourist destinations on social media platforms. By exploring the interplay between persuasive language, storytelling, and the immersive nature of social media, this article highlights how effective copywriting techniques can transform ordinary travel narratives into engaging and irresistible tales. Through comprehensive analysis of successful campaigns, it uncovers strategies for creating compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences, elicits emotional connection, and ultimately fosters a desire to explore the causes on display. The implementation of this copywriting training has added insight to harness the power of words to arouse the desire to visit and inspire tourists to start a pleasant tour.

Abstract

Islam as the religion of rahmatan lil a'alamin has a unique concept in disaster management and is different in disaster management based on contemporary concepts in the initial steps in responding to disasters. Understanding the concept of disaster management is a very important aspect to maintain environmental balance by reducing disaster risk. The aim of this service activity is to increase students' knowledge and skills regarding disaster management from a contemporary and Islamic perspective, as well as increasing students' awareness of the environment as an effort to reduce disaster risk. This effort is carried out by carrying out socialization activities on disaster management from an Islamic perspective to make students care about the environment. Based on the results of this socialization activity, participants understood the material presented by 85%. Socialization about disaster management from an Islamic perspective can be a solution to the weaknesses of disaster management in contemporary concepts.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi telah berdampak terhadap perubahan sosial. Menghadapi perubahan dunia yang sangat dinamis, generasi muda sangat penting untuk dibekali dengan bekal berupa iman dan taqwa serta ilmu pengetahuan yang memadai serta penguasaan teknologi yang mumpuni. Sederhananya, bekal tersebut dapat disebut sebagai IMTAQ dan IPTEK. Bekal tersebut sangat penting untuk menuntun generasi muda dapat menjalankan berbagai aktivitasnya saat ini dan di masa mendatang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masayrakat ini dilakukan untuk membekali para siswa selaku generasi muda untuk lebih siap menghadapi era disrupsi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk memberi pembekalan kepada para siswa untuk membaca peluang dan tantangan yang potensial terjadi di era disrupsi. Harapannya, para siswa dapat memahami dengan baik berbagai tantangan yang akan mereka hadapi di era disrupsi serta dapat membekali diri dengan baik untuk meraih kesuksesan di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Rice is the main food crop in Indonesia, even Asia and the world. Rice is the main food source because the way it is cultivated and managed makes it a simpler food compared to other food crops. In efforts to increase rice productivity, there are still many obstacles, including the problem of pests, one of which is the stem borer pest in rice. The decline in rice production reached 1 -3% due to the stem borer pest [1]. The stem borer (Sciphopaga innotata) is a pest that attacks rice plants in the vegetative/tilling and generative phases. Moths or larvae suck food from rice stalks so that in the vegetative phase it inhibits the growth of tillers, while in the generative phase it inhibits the filling of the rice grains, resulting in empty and dry grains. This service activity was carried out in March 2024 in Mesjid Tuha village, Meurebo District, Aceh, using a survey method to identify stem borer pests descriptively based on existing references. The aim of this service activity is to find out and identify stem-boring pests in rice, based on the information obtained, this has been very detrimental to farmers

Abstract

The instability of the price of oil palm Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) and the operational costs of oil palm plantations are problems that continue to occur and are very difficult to control. This condition creates uncertainty for oil palm farmers in obtaining income and spending costs needed to operate oil palm plantations.Method of implementing this activity begins with identifying problems that occur among oil palm farmers, either directly in several locations in West Aceh or indirectly through the latest literature from various sources. Then the next stage is conducting an FGD with the Regional Government of West Aceh Regency and entrepreneurs of palm oil, cattle farms and fish farms which will produce recommendations and strategies for implementing the integration of the three businesses in question. Next, they will build cowsheds and fish ponds using a self-management system for Gampoeng Teupin Panah farmers. The final stage is to make an offer to the community and other parties to invest in cattle using the mawah system and also raising pond fish using a profit sharing system. Then the final stage is to socialize the concept of integration to the community so that it can be applied to their own land.The results achieved in this service are as follows: (1). Creating a cow pen and procuring cattle using the mawah system (2) Creating a pond for tilapia and catfish and directly releasing fish seeds into the pond; (3) Conduct program outreach to oil palm farmers in Gampoeng Teupin Panah, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh. Through this integration program, farmers are increasingly motivated and focused on developing oil palm plantations, cattle farms and pond fisheries in an effort to increase their income stably. Then the success of this program can meet the demand for beef and pond fish, especially in West Aceh Regency and surrounding areas.

Abstract

The digital era has brought significant changes in various aspects of life, including in rural areas. Digitalization of Independent Villages emerged as a solution to encourage village independence through the use of digital technology. The main aim of this digitalization is to improve the quality of life of village communities, improve access to public services, and encourage local economic growth. This article discusses various important aspects of the Mandiri Village digitalization program, including development of technological infrastructure, development of village information systems, digital literacy training, and digital marketing for local products. The implementation of digitalization in Leukeun Village has shown positive results, such as improving technological infrastructure, efficiency of public services, empowering the local economy, and increasing community digital literacy. Despite facing challenges such as limited funding and low digital literacy, collaboration with external parties and sustainable development strategies can overcome these obstacles. Digitalization of Mandiri Village is not just the application of technology, but also creates positive and sustainable changes for village communities. This article aims to develop Leukeun Mandiri Village based on digital concepts by considering internal and external potential through inclusive and integrated solutions.

Abstract

The 23rd Regular KKN activity of Teuku Umar University was carried out in Kota Bahagia Village, Kuala Batee District, Southwest Aceh Regency, with a focus on optimizing village resources in order to realize sustainable economic and social resilience.The method used is a participatory approach through observation, interviews, and implementation of work programs. The main programs implemented include making trash cans from used paint buckets, producing organic fertilizer from dry leaves, and innovating agricultural processing in the form of spinach chips. The results of the study showed that the KKN program had a positive impact on the community, especially in increasing awareness of waste management and environmental cleanliness. In addition, product innovation based on village potential opens up new business opportunities that contribute to improving the community's economy. Abstract

West Aceh has great natural resource potential, but land utilization is still low due to limited infrastructure, low land management skills, and social and environmental factors. This program proposes the industrialization of Gamal plants (Gliricidia sepium) as a solution to optimize marginal land. Gamal plants are chosen because of their adaptive, multifunctional nature, and ability to increase soil fertility naturally. This service uses the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Community-Based Empowerment approaches and is carried out in Teupin Panah Village, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh, as a pilot project. Activities include socialization, cultivation training, and distribution of Gamal seeds. The results of the activities show that Gamal cultivation can increase the utilization of idle land, provide alternative sources of animal feed, produce bioenergy, and improve environmental quality. The economic value of this cultivation is potential, with an income of up to IDR 45 million per hectare per year. This program also increases local communities' awareness and skills in sustainable land management.

Abstract

Ketapang Indah village is located in North Singkil sub-district, Aceh Singkil district.  Due to its position close to the coast, influenced by sea breezes and weather conditions that tend to be humid. The main focus of this occation is the utilization of local materials in the form of processing food ingredients into tempeh. Tempeh is a fermented soybean product that is a source of high-quality vegetable protein and has various health benefits. This service aims to explore the utilization of local materials in making tempe, including a basic understanding of tempe. The process of making tempeh involves several stages, from soaking, cooking, inoculation with yeast, to fermentation. This service also discusses the importance of counseling the community on how to make tempeh and its benefits to increase product diversity and support the local economy. The service method used in this activity is a combination of counseling (lecture) with hands-on practice.
