Jurnal Pengabdian Agro and Marine Industry (JPAMI) merupakan jurnal pengabdian perdana lingkup Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Teuku Umar. Jurnal ini memuat hasil-hasil pengabdian masyarakat baik yang dilakukan oleh dosen, dan atau mahasiswa-dosen. Adapun bidang kajiannya meliputi output pengabdian masyarakat baik berupa produk, protype, model dan output lainnya, khususnya di bidang agro/pertanian, marine/perikanan dan industry/UMKM-Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah. Namun demikian tidak menutup kemungkinan dari rumpun ilmu lain pada umumnya dan diutamakan yang subjeknya masih terkait dengan pertanian, perikanan dan industry. Lebih jauh lagi objek pengabdian berada dalam lingkup desa/daerah sekitar kampus, Kawasan Baersela/Barat Selatan Provinsi Aceh, Provinsi Aceh sendiri, Indonesia bahkan luar negeri. Publikasi jurnal pengabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan para dosen dan mahasiswa dapat berkontribusi dalam masyarakat dan pada akhirnya masyarakat dapat menerapkan output hasil pengabdian tersebut untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat menuju perekonomian yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Komunikasi merupakan bagian integral dari kualitas pelayanan dalam industry jasa termasuk industri pariwisata. Kemampuan komunikasi yang baik yang dimiliki oleh pelaku pariwisata mengindikasikan profesionalitas dan meningkatkan kenyamanan pengunjung saat menikmati liburan. Di era modern saat ini komunikasi Bahasa Inggris menjadi krusial untuk mempromosikan pariwisata. Terlebih lagi wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Aceh Jaya tidak lagi hanya terbatas pada wisatawan local ataupun domestic. Banyak juga wisatawan asing yang berkunjung untuk menikmati eksotisme alam Aceh Jaya. Oleh karena itu kemampuan komunikasi Bahasa Inggris akan sangat membantu pelaku wisata untuk memberikan pelayanan optimal kepada para wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Aceh Jaya.Communication is an integral part of service quality in the service industry, including the tourism industry. Good communication skills possessed by tourism actors indicate professionalism and increase the comfort of visitors while enjoying holidays. In this modern era, English communication is crucial to promote tourism. Moreover, tourists visiting Aceh Jaya are no longer limited to local or domestic tourists. Many foreign tourists also visit to enjoy the exotic nature of Aceh Jaya. Therefore, the ability to communicate in English will greatly assist tour operators in providing optimal service to tourists visiting Aceh Jaya.

Abstract

The aim of this community service is to provide local business people with the knowledge they need to invest in Indonesia. The most recent investment-related laws and regulations are also covered in this activity. This activity provides explanations on a variety of investment-related topics as well as the most recent data on how simple it is to invest in Indonesia. This is crucial for improving investor comprehension so that they can always operate and grow their businesses in accordance with the most recent rules established by the Indonesian government. This includes understanding the rights that investors can obtain as well as the responsibilities that investors must fulfill when operating a business in Indonesia. The goal of this activity is also to help business actors submit LKPM (Investment Activity Reports) by online submission and to help business investors in the Southwest Aceh District understand the Investment Policy for conducting business and the implementation of the current Investment Policy.

Abstract

Hydroponic Deep Flow Technique (DFT) is a hydroponic method that provides nutrients in the form of water in the form of a pool. DFT hydroponic cultivation of plants, especially pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) can increase income, can be consumed alone at home, adds nutritional value, and can prevent stunting. The problem of stunting can be prevented by consuming nutritious food, one of which is by consuming vegetables. DFT hydroponic farming can be done in narrow areas, for example in yards, roofs, and so on. The purpose of this activity is to introduce DFT (Deep Flow Technique) hydroponics to pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.) as the main plant to the community in Kuta Blang Village, Samadua District, South Aceh District. This community service was carried out on Wednesday 17 November 2021. The method used in this community service was an extension method in the form of presentation of material and practices related to DFT hydroponics on pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.). The counseling process begins with the presentation of the material by the speaker, followed by discussion or question and answer.Keywords: Hydroponic Deep Flow Technique (DFT), pakcoy, stunting

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that has civilization, customs and noble culture that must prioritize noble values. Values such as decency, tenacity, religion, and ethics form the foundation of nation building. Unfortunately these values are increasingly eroded along with the progress of time. Society tends to ignore the values that shape the character of the nation, and is increasingly becoming an individualist, materialist and hedonic society. The challenges that will be faced by the nation in the future are increasingly complex and uncertain, such as the increasing number of unpleasant incidents, crime rates, immorality, and various other dishonest behaviors in society. This is as a result of a lack of understanding and application of moral values. Lack of understanding of moral values and character education makes children only intelligent but without character. National character building cannot be done in a short time and by a handful of people. This character building is a long process that is continuous and requires the participation of all levels of society with their respective roles. One of the efforts that can be made in order to support character building is through educational institutions as agents of change. Students should be equipped with character education so that later they can balance their academic knowledge. This is in line with the issuance of government regulations through the Strengthening Character Education program. through this activity we are trying to take part by providing short education to the younger generation at the elementary school level, especially at SD N 1 Ranto Panyang. Through interactive discussion activities we seek to instill moral values and measure participants' abilities as feedback. from the results obtained, there was an increase in understanding before and after being given the material and discussing it. our hope is that this can be done on an ongoing and massive basis to get even better results in the future.

Abstract

This community service activity carried out trough garnish creation training aims to provide skills to housewives to be skilled in creating vegetable garnishes as decorations to beautify food dishes which are usually used for tumpeng rice decoration, wedding food dish decoration, and hotel food dish decoration, café food dishes and also restaurant food decoration. If these housewives are proficient in making vegetable garnish creations, it will be an apportunity for entrepreneurship so that they can improve the family economy. The location of this community service activity is locatied in Gampong Drien Rampak RT. Neighborhood III Johan Pahlawan District, West Aceh Regency with a total of 19 participants. The implementation method used is training by delivering material through  lectures and practice. The results obtained from this training activity are that the women participants are very enthusiastic about participating in this training and it is hoped that the skills obtained from this vegetable garnish training activity will continue with entrepreneurship that can improve the family economy.

Abstract

Agriculture is the most importance resources of the economy in rural areas. The development of agricultural commodities in rural areas can no longer be carried out partially. The involvement of various parties that are integrated and support each other must be carried out continuously. Mapping of key aspects that are challenges to agricultural development must be carried out integrally. This paper formulates that there are several key aspects that are challenges to the development of rural agriculture. The challenge is the support of the government, private sector and academia, the development of digital technology in the concept of smart farming and the role of the younger generation. Everything will lead to increased efficiency and effectiveness of game results which will drive the Village economy.

Abstract

CV. Reja Mayur in his cultivation process already has a standard or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), but the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has not been documented in writing. This results in workers often making mistakes, especially in the land preparation stage. Where these errors will result in agricultural production results that are not optimal. The purpose of this community service activity is to produce a written document explaining the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for processing organic vegetable soil at CV. Reja Mayur. This service is carried out by interviews and observations at the business location. The results of this service are Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents for land management and providing assistance in the application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) which are expected to make worker performance more consistent and minimize errors so that agricultural production results can be maximized.

Abstract

The availability of digital data regarding geographic information has brought the changes in how we use and understand information about the earth. One of the sectors that needs to be improved and developed so that this data provision can be fulfilled is human resources, namely the ability to master mapping skills. This involves analyzing each employee's competencies in relation to specific skills, for example abilities related to specific projects, roles and tasks. The service method used is the lecture and direct demonstration method. Basic level GIS training activities for the community were held for 5 days from 16-22 March 2023, attended by  37 participants in total from various government agencies. This activity takes place in three stages, ie. the opening stage, the map making practice stage and the closing stage.

Abstract

The significant changes in regulations related to local taxes and levies in Indonesia, especially stipulated in Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Regional Taxes and Levies and Presidential Regulation Number 35 of 2023, have prompted the need for a new approach in managing Regional Original Income (PAD) across Indonesia. The impact of these changes includes the repeal of previous regulations such as Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government. An academic team from Teuku Umar University conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the Nagan Raya District government to assess the potential and sources of revenue from local taxes and levies. The discussion results revealed that there are still many untapped potentials for local taxes and levies. Therefore, it is essential for local governments to collaborate with all relevant agencies to optimize revenue collection from local taxes and levies. Amid the context of decentralization in Indonesia, district governments like Nagan Raya are challenged to find new sources of revenue from local taxes and levies to strengthen their financial independence.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology raises demands on various fields, including entrepreneurship. This demand is especially addressed to the younger generation or novice businessmen who are the initial target. It is hoped that with the emergence of various demands and activities that support business development for beginners, it can reduce the unemployment rate. The importance of changing mindsets and providing the right strategy for novice business people is important to do. One effort that can be done is to increase understanding and mastery of advances in information technology, especially to face global competition. Therefore it is important to carry out various trainings and activities that can support creativity as well as new and unique ideas for these novice businessmen, which are currently mostly carried out by students. The training conducted at SMAIT Ruhul Islam was carried out in order to build an entrepreneurial spirit for students at a young age and to have interest and basic knowledge about entrepreneurial planning using the business model canvas. SMAIT Ruhul Islam Simeulue students can practice making a business model canvas and can apply various approaches to the business model canvas for the progress of their respective businesses.
