Abstract

Medan City, as the capital of North Sumatra Province, is facing severe traffic jams at the Jalan Gatot Subroto-Jalan Gagak Hitam intersection due to the rapid growth of vehicles. To overcome this problem, the Medan City Government plans to build an underpass to separate traffic flows and increase road capacity. This research aims to analyze the impact of traffic during the construction phase, by grouping vehicles into motorbikes, light vehicles and heavy vehicles, which are then converted into passenger cars (SMP). Research shows that the existing traffic volume is 2813.8 pcu/hour towards Jalan Ringroad and 2620.5 pcu/hour towards Jalan Asrama, which exceeds the road capacity. During the construction phase, traffic volume dropped significantly to 637.6 pcu/hour and 635.5 pcu/hour, which shows more stable traffic flow. construction of underpasses can effectively reduce future congestion, but careful planning is required to minimize negative impacts during the construction period. It is hoped that these results can provide important input in transportation planning in Medan City.

Abstract

Drug rehabilitation is a treatment process for narcotics abuse to restore or develop the physical, mental and social abilities of the sufferer concerned. Apart from recovering, rehabilitation is also a treatment or care for narcotics addicts so that people with an addiction can recover from their addiction to narcotics. This research aims to find out the role of the Dumai City National Narcotics Agency in the rehabilitation of drug abusers and to find out the inhibiting factors faced in rehabilitating drug abuse victims at the Dumai City National Narcotics Agency. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. This research refers to the organizational role theory of aromatic D and Sudrajat AR, which has four approach indicators: division of work, departmentation, distribution of authority, and coordination. The results of this research show that the role played by the organization in achieving the organization's goals is quite good. However, coordination in the field of prevention is still not optimal. The inhibiting factors are the lack of rehabilitation facilities and the long travel distance. In this way, it is hoped that the Dumai City National Narcotics Agency will emphasise coordination more and improve rehabilitation facilities.

Abstract

Construction work is a process that involves various disciplines, resources and has its own unique characteristics, including occupational safety and health. However, in reality, in the world of construction, falling accidents still often occur. One important element in a construction project is the use of scaffolding, which is susceptible to the risk of accidents if it is not installed and used according to standards. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) which was passed on April 28 1971 provides regulations that serve as guidelines for workers and project supervisors to ensure the K3 system in the workplace. The aim is to analyze the safety of using scaffolding in the Public Lecture Building - C Construction project at Malikulsaleh Lhokseumawe University by comparing two assessment methods, namely based on the Checklist Table, where the results of the research show that this analysis provides more certain results and makes the evaluation process easier because it provides scores or assessments in the form of numbers. , compared to using the original OSHA regulations which still do not have definite values within the limits that conclude whether its use is safe or not in the field. Thus, the use of checklists can increase certainty in identifying potential hazards that may not be covered in detail in the original regulations. Suggesting further development of scaffolding safety analysis methods that are still based on OSHA regulations or other laws passed and enforced by the government in a country but are more structured and measurable are expected to improve K3 standards in construction projects as a whole, especially in the use of scaffolding.

Abstract

In the current era of computers and the internet, the use of technology in education is becoming increasingly important to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process. In this article, we will learn how to create a Windows-based learning application using the Visual Studio Framework and the Visual Basic programming language. By providing interactive and easy-to-use tools, this application is intended to support the educational process. User needs analysis is the main stage in the application design process, such as system design, implementation, and testing. User needs analysis is carried out to determine the special needs of teachers and students, such as managing learning materials, monitoring learning progress, and evaluation. System design also includes application architecture and user interfaces that enable easy and effective interaction. The research results show that this Windows-based learning application has the ability to improve interaction between teachers and students, facilitate access to learning materials, and provide useful evaluation tools. However, issues such as hardware compatibility and user training requirements were also discovered. As a result, it is hoped that this application can help learning in the digital era while development continues to be carried out to overcome existing problems.

Abstract

The establishment of the Land Bank in Indonesia is a response to the complex issues surrounding land, including limited land availability, conflicting interests, and challenges in land law implementation. The Land Bank is established with the aim of improving land governance, supporting agrarian reform, and promoting the welfare of the people. However, there are several important issues related to the establishment of the Land Bank, including the lack of clarity regarding its philosophy, legal basis, and principles, as well as the urgency of its establishment. Additionally, the legal status and accountability of the Land Bank are not fully defined. In its implementation, the Land Bank utilizes resources from the state or regional budgets, as well as its own revenue and other legitimate sources. Operational activities of the Land Bank are planned on a medium-term and annual basis, and land utilization can be carried out through self-management or collaboration with other parties. The Land Bank also adheres to the nonprofit principle, where the revenue obtained is used for organizational development without distributing profits to the Land Bank's body. The establishment of the Land Bank in Indonesia has the potential to support economic development, but it also raises concerns regarding economic inequality and land injustice, particularly for economically disadvantaged groups. Therefore, proper monitoring and regulations are necessary to ensure that the Land Bank operates in line with its intended goals.

Abstract

The DASH diet serves as a valuable educational tool for managing hypertension, benefiting both patients and their families. This study aimed to assess the impact of education on the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet on the blood pressure levels of individuals with hypertension within the jurisdiction of the Rumbia Public Health Center in Rumbia District, Central Lampung Regency, during the year 2024. Employing a quantitative research methodology, the study utilized a quasi-experimental design featuring a one-group pre-test and post-test framework. The target population consisted of 353 hypertensive individuals residing in the Rumbia Health Center area from January to April 2024, with a sample size of 62 participants. Data were analyzed using the independent t-test. Findings revealed that the average blood pressure prior to the DASH diet education in the intervention group was 138/78 mmHg, compared to 149/89 mmHg in the control group. Post-education, the intervention group exhibited an average blood pressure of 126/75 mmHg, while the control group showed 136/82 mmHg. The results indicate a significant effect of DASH diet education on blood pressure among hypertensive patients in the Rumbia Health Center area, with a p-value of 0.000. It is recommended that health centers disseminate information regarding the benefits of DASH diet education on blood pressure management through various media, including leaflets, booklets, and posters, positioning it as a viable alternative treatment for individuals with hypertension.
