Abstract

In an effort to improve the quality of education, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum is a major concern. Developing learners' critical thinking skills is the main goal of the Merdeka Curriculum. According to critical thinking theory, this ability is needed to face challenges around the world and solve difficult problems. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the impact of implementing Merdeka Curriculum on students' critical thinking development. The results showed that the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum has a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills, especially in terms of improving their ability to analyze, compile, and assess. However, this study also found several problems encountered in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, such as lack of teacher support and lack of resources. This research is expected to contribute to the development of a more efficient curriculum and the improvement of education quality in Indonesia. The results suggest that teachers and educational institutions should increase support and resources to improve the effectiveness of KM implementation.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of the Role Play-Based Film (RPBF) learning model in enhancing high school students' understanding of Pancasila values. The findings suggest that RPBF significantly contributes to the exploration and understanding of Pancasila among high school students. This model provides a substantial contribution by creating space for direct experience, reflection, and deep contextual understanding of the noble values. The theoretical implications of this research lie in supporting social learning theories, constructivism, and social constructivism. RPBF offers an interactive learning experience, deepens collective understanding, and strengthens the emotional dimension in internalizing Pancasila values. The practical implications are substantial, as the research indicates that RPBF can be a foundation for developing more innovative and engaging curricula at the high school level. The application of RPBF not only enhances theoretical understanding but also stimulates emotional involvement and practical application of Pancasila values in daily life. However, the study has limitations, such as focusing on one learning method and constraints in generalization. Therefore, future research can explore variations in teaching methods or combinations of learning strategies and involve more representative samples. In summary, this research makes a significant contribution in the context of character education in Indonesia, providing a basis for the development of effective learning strategies to integrate Pancasila values at the high school level. Future research could further explore the long-term impacts of implementing this learning model and develop holistic teaching methods for Pancasila values education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of using practicum reports in chemistry learning in high school, with a focus on developing students' writing skills and understanding of concepts. Formal education, as regulated in Law of the Republic of Indonesia no. 20 of 2003, has an important role in developing students' potential, including cognitive aspects and practical skills. The research method used is a combination of a qualitative approach through literature study and a quantitative approach through questionnaires filled out by students of SMAN 5 Medan. Data analysis showed that the majority of students (70%) agreed that the lab report enabled the application of chemistry concepts in hands-on practice, which improved their understanding. In addition, 90% of students felt motivated to explain the results of the practicum, and 85% felt happy with the practicum method used. The research results show that integration between practicum and report writing skills can increase students' understanding of chemistry concepts and interest in this subject. However, students' abilities in writing practical reports still need to be improved, especially in analyzing data and connecting theory with practical results. Thus, the use of practicum reports in chemistry learning in high school has proven to be effective in improving students' understanding and practical skills, although further efforts are still needed to improve students' analytical and scientific writing skills.

Abstract

The question of separatism in Papua has long been a critical issue affecting Indonesia's national security. This research aims to analyze the dynamics of separatism in Papua as well as the state defense strategy implemented by the Indonesian government in an effort to strengthen national resilience. This research uses qualitative methods with a literature study and documentation approach related to government policies, existing conflicts, and community responses. Research findings show that factors such as socioeconomic marginalization, ethnic identity, and colonial history contribute significantly to separatist aspirations in Papua. In addition, excessive security approaches often worsen rather than improve the security situation. In this context, the concept of national defense is not only understood as a military defense effort, but also as an inclusive strategy that promotes just social, economic and political development. This research recommends that an effective state defense strategy must involve constructive dialogue between the government and the Papuan people, recognition of the rights of indigenous peoples, and greater investment in human and infrastructure development. It is hoped that implementing this approach can reduce tensions and support stronger social integration between Papua and Indonesia as a whole.
