Abstract

This research project examines the ways in which digital literacy is incorporated into the secondary education curriculum in various Asian countries. This study aims to investigate the comparative teaching strategies employed with the aim of enhancing students' digital competencies. Qualitative research methods were employed to obtain data through in-depth interviews, document analysis and participatory observation in secondary schools in five Asian countries: Indonesia, Singapore, India, South Korea and Japan. The findings indicate that technology-based strategies, teacher training and national policies play an instrumental role in the successful integration of digital literacy. The research validates that a comprehensive approach to the incorporation of digital literacy in secondary education in Asia necessitates an interwoven combination of pedagogical strategies, conducive policies and robust technological infrastructure. The insights gained from this research are invaluable for the formulation and refinement of an inclusive and effective digital literacy curriculum.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of project-based learning (PBL) on students' collaborative abilities within the context of secondary education. The investigation encompassed three key areas: communication, teamwork, and collaborative problem-solving.The research employed a qualitative methodology with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis of students and teachers. The findings indicated that PBL markedly enhanced students' collaborative abilities, particularly in the domains of communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. However, certain obstacles emerged, including time management and the necessity for more efficacious teacher roles as facilitators. In conclusion, the findings of this study indicate that project-based learning (PBL) has a significant impact on students' collaboration skills, particularly in terms of communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. However, the implementation of PBL in secondary education contexts is not without challenges, including the need for effective time management strategies and the strengthening of teachers' capacity as facilitators. PBL is an effective method for enhancing students' collaborative abilities. However, its implementation necessitates the provision of adequate support in the form of effective time management strategies and the enhancement of teachers' capacity to serve as effective facilitators.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop digital teaching materials for explanatory texts designed for students in junior high school. The following issues represent the primary challenges associated with this research: (1) What is the optimal design of digital teaching materials for critical thinking explanatory texts for junior high school/MTs? (2) What are the outcomes of the implementation of digital teaching materials for critical thinking explanatory texts for junior high school/MTs? This research employs the research and development method (R&D) with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The research methodology comprises the following steps: analysis of needs, design of digital teaching materials for explanatory text, development of digital teaching materials for explanatory text, implementation of digital teaching materials for explanatory text, and evaluation of digital teaching materials for explanatory text. In this study, data were collected from the results of validation questionnaires completed by experts in learning models, media, and implementation in learning, as well as from the actual implementation of the learning model. The data were subjected to descriptive analysis using the Likert scale and paired sample t-test. The validation test conducted with material experts yielded a score of 3.5, while the test with media experts returned a score of 3.9. The validation test with Indonesian language teachers also produced a score of 3.9. The implementation of digital teaching materials for critical thinking explanatory texts for junior high school/MTs students prompted positive responses from the students, resulting in a score of 3.5. The findings of this study indicate that digital teaching materials for critical thinking explanations for junior high school/MTs students satisfy the criteria for feasibility in terms of their potential use as a learning model by teachers of Indonesian language subjects on explanatory text material for junior high school/MTs class VIII students.

Students who are highly motivated will be active, but students who are low motivated will be passive and disturb other students. The Development Model in this study will be conducted to develop the phonics method as a method in teaching reading materials for kindergarten students. To achieve this goal, a research approach is needed that highlights efforts to produce reading teaching strategies. Therefore, in designing the model, researchers used the Research and Development approach by adapting the Borg and Gall model.Based on the result of the research and development carried out, it can concluded that developing reading materials through the phonics method designed by researchers aims to help students read simple sentences in English. The development of reading materials through the phonics method that has been designed by researchers has passed the validation stage by 2 expert validators. The effectiveness of reading material through phonics method for kindergarten students at DD2 School Medan that has been developed by researchers can be seen from the results of the effectiveness test.
