Abstract

Develop a multi-matobe learning model (multicultural based on the problem of religious tolerance) to ward off student radicalism. Use a Research and Development (R&D) approach with three steps, namely: 1) preliminary studies, 2) model development, and 3) model testing. The developed products were tested on UIN Salatiga, Indonesia students and analyzed by t-test using SPSS 22 software. The multi-matobe learning model uses five main syntaxes, namely: (1) determining and mapping problem priorities, (2) problem orientation, (3) social-digital investigation of religious tolerance issues, (4) group and classical discussions, and (5) presenting and developing works. The paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the control and experimental classes in the limited-scale trial 1, limited-scale trial 2, and large-scale trial. The multicultural learning model based on the problem of religious tolerance can be used in Social Studies learning (IPS). However, applying this learning model to other subjects has a great opportunity to form a tolerant student character. The multi-matobe learning model has five syntaxes that have been tested to be effective in providing real experiences in solving religious tolerance problems. This learning model can be an alternative solution so that the younger generation is not easily exposed to radicalism in the digital era.

Abstract

Morphologically and culturally, West Sumatra's region, more popularly known as Minangkabau, is divided into land areas (darek) and coastal areas (rantau). These two regions have quite different characters, including their people. The Blasting War was a tough period for the Indonesian people, including for West Sumatra. Almost all areas in West Sumatra resisted physical occupation at that time. One area that was very resistant at that time was Agam Regency. Interestingly, the leader of this resistance movement was a woman named Siti Manggopoh. This paper aims to; (1) reconstruct the figure of Siti Manggopoh as a leader of the Blasting war struggle from the coastal lands of Minangkabau; (2) analyze family, socio-cultural, and geographical background on Siti's attitude and strategy against colonialism; (3) expressing the views and perceptions of the people of West Sumatra, especially Agam towards the figure of Siti as a warrior. This study uses historical methods, especially oral history methods, with heuristic, criticism, analysis, and historuigraphic steps. This research is also strengthened by an interdisciplinary approach, especially a geographical approach. The research findings reveal that the typology of Siti Manggopoh's struggle is strongly influenced by the cosmopolistic and egalitarian characteristics of coastal culture. The people of West Sumatra, especially the people of Manggopoh really hope that Siti will become a national hero. Therefore, they gave Siti the nickname of the Lioness of the Coastal Lands.

Abstract

Problems in learning activities and the impact on social studies learning outcomes are still unsatisfactory. This is because students are getting used to using digital media in carrying out various activities. However, teachers have not been able to innovate and take advantage of it, especially in learning to motivate students to be more active by using learning media and increasing social studies learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the effect of using animated video-based learning media on motion graphics on social studies learning outcomes. This type of Research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method, and the research design is a non-equivalent control group design with pre-test and post-test. The population of this Research is the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Cisewu. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique, namely the experimental and control classes. The instruments used in this study were in the form of tests and non-test. Based on the results of the statistical analysis of the initial ability between the experimental and control classes, there was no significant difference. As for the results of the final test, it can be seen that there is a difference between the experimental class and the control class. The control class has lower learning outcomes than the experimental class, which uses motion graphic animation video learning media with very high improvement categories. The use of motion graphic animation videos learning media also received a good response from students. This is evidenced by students' enthusiasm for ongoing learning, which impacts increasing social studies learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article is the result of thinking about the repositioning of social studies education graduates as the pillars of the nation's character in facing the era of Society 5.0. In the national education system, social studies education is an integrative part that is realized by preparing human resources, curriculum, and learning, especially at the elementary and secondary education levels. Social studies education graduates' functions and roles in achieving national education goals are designed and implemented as a form of realization. A frame of mind that understands that social studies education reflects the character of a civilized nation. National character is essential during the Era of Society 5.0, which requires the public to control and balance the capabilities of artificial intelligence and social intelligence to solve all kinds of national problems. Society 5.0 illustrates that everything can be moved and connected through data to overcome social problems. The position of the social studies education graduate is very strategic because it can balance the two things. Social studies education graduates have challenges presenting knowledge and skills of critical, constructive and innovative thinking by staying within the emotional, social, and spiritual intelligence firmly entrenched as mandated in Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.
