Abstract

Traditional ceremonies are one of the traditions of indigenous peoples that are considered to still have values that are quite relevant to the needs of the supporting community. In addition to being a human effort to connect with the spirits of ancestors, it is also a form of human ability to actively adapt to nature or the environment in a broad sense. This research aims to analyze one of the traditional ceremonies in Indonesia, especially in Samparong Village, Sikka Regency. The traditional ceremony is called Tuan Tewo. The researcher uses qualitative methods. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews and documentation. The results discuss several stages in the Tuan Tewo ceremony process. Tuan Tewo ceremony process has two stages, namely the ritual preparation stage and the implementation stage. In addition, this research found Samparong community perspectives towards the Tuan Tewo traditional ceremony in Samparong Village, where the Tuan Tewo traditional ceremony is only a form of preserving their culture and customs left by their ancestors. The impact of not implementing the Tuan Tewo traditional ceremony is that this is quite old ancestral heritage and various bad things hit the farmers' crops. Therefore, the Samparong community in Sikka Regency has to maintain the tradition of the Tuan Tewo ceremony as an expression of community identity. The local government should be able to continue mobilizing the community to be actively involved in the preservation of Tuan Tewo's traditional ceremony. In addition, it is also hoped that the government will include all traditions carried out by local communities in an educational aspect.

Abstract

The era of the industrial revolution has entered its peak in 5.0 which is an era where humans coexist full of technology. One of them is artificial intelligence and the products it produces such as ChatGPT, OpenAI, and artificial intelligence in other fields. In this era, humans will be given all kinds of conveniences from technology. The search for truth can be done quickly but less accurately. Artificial intelligence uses big data that will continue to be filled with various knowledge so that in the end intelligence can be utilized properly. The use of artificial intelligence technology in research conducted by researchers should still follow the rules, values, and norms in research. Values and norms in research will lead researchers to be open, fair, responsible, and skeptical of research results. The research method used is a literature study conducted by finding literature sources, reading literature, selecting literature, and analyzing related literature utilizing artificial intelligence in research. The purpose of this study is to find values and norms in research that uses artificial intelligence technology. The result of this study is that a researcher must have the value of objectivity, honesty, fairness, responsibility, stewardship, and openness and continue to develop skepticism, responsibility, ease of understanding, and critical thinking behavior that researchers must have. There are advantages and disadvantages to the use of artificial intelligence in research. The advantages include reference management, search for reference sources, plagiarism checking, and discussions between researchers. While the drawback is the critical thinking ability of researchers, plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification of research data. For this reason, good and responsible researchers must follow the values, values, and norms in research. Researchers must be responsible for the results of their research because the results of their research are a source of knowledge and will be read by readers widely.

Abstract

This study investigates how affective reflection affects students' performance when they present their papers at the first student annual seminar. Students who intentionally reflected on their feelings before, during, and following academic presentations engage in affective reflection. Using a qualitative methodology, the study used reflective journals to gather data from 20 student participants. The findings demonstrate that worry and the fear of making a mistake typically govern pre-presentation thinking, which either boosts or deflates students' self-esteem. Students' real-time emotional reactions, such as anxiety or enthusiasm, affect how they interact with the audience and present their material during the presentation. Reflections after a presentation show a significant relationship between emotional release and the capacity to evaluate one's performance objectively, pinpoint strengths, and pinpoint areas in need of development. Besides, encouraging affective reflection as a component of academic preparation can significantly improve student performance by elevating emotional consciousness and self-control.

Abstract

This study explores lecturers' perceptions of E-Lumak, a digital teaching platform used at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, three English Language Education lecturers were interviewed through semi-structured questions, providing in-depth insights. Thematic analysis of the data revealed that lecturers generally viewed E-Lumak positively. They highlighted several benefits, including improved pedagogy, easier management of the learning process, and greater flexibility and efficiency in teaching. However, challenges such as technical issues, time-consuming material preparation, and difficulties navigating certain features of the platform were also noted. Despite these challenges, the lecturers reported that the overall teaching and learning experience was not significantly hindered. This research emphasizes the need to integrate digital platforms like E-Lumak into educational settings, as they can enhance teaching effectiveness and improve the overall learning experience, despite certain obstacles.

Abstract

The internationalization of higher education creates both benefits and challenges for international students. While academic issues are routinely prioritized, non-academic challenges such as homesickness, culture shock, and social isolation are sometimes disregarded. This study looks at the non-academic experiences of international students at an Islamic University in Indonesia. Using qualitative interviews and thematic analysis, this study identifies substantial problems in students' assimilation to local culture, as well as the effectiveness of institutional support. The findings suggest that colleges should broaden their support services beyond academics to include emotional and social well-being. This study adds to the overall understanding of international student experiences and makes recommendations for non-Western higher education institutions.

Abstract

This research examines the English-speaking needs of students in the English Department at the University of Muhammadiyah Maumere. Collecting and analyzing data on needs helps the lecturer identify gaps between what has been done and what remains to be done. A needs analysis can help establish and implement language policy with significant implications. In this case, the analysis includes students' speaking levels and investigates students’ wants and needs in speaking English. The participants of this research were students majoring in English Education and Literature Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Maumere. This research used a qualitative research design. To find a comprehensive perception of each student, focus group discussion (FGD) is used. The results showed that the existing shortcomings found that student's level of English speaking skills was very low, and students often were afraid to speak because they were worried about making mistakes. Students need presents that students must learn to be brave to speak English at the level of daily communication.  In addition, students’  desire found that students will use English speaking skills for job demands, they prefer pair or group projects in a teaching-learning process, and students prefer lecturers as facilitators and guides to improve speaking skills because they believe that poor speaking skills will have a negative impact on academic performance.

Abstract

Di era digitalisasi, inovasi dan penyesuaian dalam proses pembelajaran terus dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menstimulasi kemampuan berpikir saintifik siswa melalui penerapan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis model pembelajaran Curious Note Program (CNP). Secara khusus, penelitian ini menganalisis kelayakan, keefektifan, dan kepraktisan LKPD berbasis CNP dalam pembelajaran fisika. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Produk yang dikembangkan diuji coba pada siswa kelas XII MAS UNIVA Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai belajar siswa mencapai 81,51, dengan 52 dari 60 siswa mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa LKPD berbasis CNP efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Selain itu, analisis respons siswa menunjukkan tingkat kepraktisan sebesar 85,73% dengan kriteria "sangat praktis."  Dengan demikian, LKPD berbasis CNP layak, efektif, dan praktis dalam memfasilitasi siswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir saintifik. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran fisika di era digital.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan PhET pada materi teori kinetic gas dan efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri termbimbing dengan metode eksperimen virtual PhET. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 2 Sukadana. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah pemberian pretest dan posttest control group design. Adapun subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik peserta didik kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan XI IPA 2 sebagai kelompok kontrol, masing-masing kelas terdapat 25 orang. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen tes keterampilan proses sains. rata-rata keterampilan proses sains peserta didik pada saat pretes pada kelompok eksperimen adalah 21,92 dan pada kelompok kontrol 22,23, setelah diberikan perlakuan, rata-rata keterampilan proses sains peserta didik mengalami peningkatan menjadi pada kelompok eksperimen hasil tes keterampilan proses sains 31,76 dan kelompok kontrol 24,44. Peningkatan ini dibuktikan juga dengan hasil N-gain 0,6 termasuk dalam kategori sedang di kelompok eksperimen dan 0,1 dalam kategori rendah di kelompok kontrol, untuk ektifitas pembelajaran dengan model inquiri terbimbing dengan PhET pada kelompok eksperimen di peroleh sebesar 88% dengan kategori tinggi dan 72% pada kelompok kontrol dengan kategori sedang. Sehingga model pembelajaran model inkuiri terbimbing dengan metode eksperimen virtual PhET lebih efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik.

Abstract

The study aims to assess the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) competencies of Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) third-year students at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) in preparation for their pre-internship. The research problem centers on evaluating students’ readiness in identifying factors that influence their ICT proficiency, which is crucial for success in the modern professional workplace. The hypothesis assumes no significant relationship exists between the competency levels and the factors affecting the competencies. Using quantitative, correlational research design, data was collected through a structured online questionnaire distributed to 144 BSOA students. The study analyzed various competency levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced ICT skills. The results revealed that the majority of the students show basic to intermediate ICT proficiency, with several factors such as personal background, socio-economic status, and access to technology playing a role in their competency levels. A significant relationship was found between these factors and ICT competency, rejecting the null hypothesis. The study concludes that targeted interventions are necessary to enhance students’ ICT skills before their internships. The findings have implications for curriculum design, suggesting that integrating more advanced ICT training could better prepare students for the digital workplace demands.

Abstract

Model inovasi dalam pengembangan KOSP menjadi bagian yang sangat penting, pasalnya menjadi tolak ukur keberhasilan pembelajaran yang tercermin lewat pemahaman siswa akan materi yang telah disampaikan. Tujuan  penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis model inovasi dalam pengembangan KOSP di SMA se Kabupaten Sleman, sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran PAI. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif studi lapangan (field research). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Analisis data meliputi reduksi data, display data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifiksai. Temuan penelitian ini, pertama, penyusunan KOSP sudah mengikuti prosedur pemerintah. Kedua, karakteristik yang dikembangkan fokus pada budaya Yogyakarta dan berwawasan lingkungan yang dimanifestasikan dalam setiap program. Ketiga, model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah gabungan model the grass-roots dan the administrative. Keempat, program dalam pengembangan di bidang PAI sangat bervariatif di setiap sekolah. Ada beberapa persamaan di sekolah yaitu peningkatan kualitas dalam membaca Al-qur’an, pesantren Ramadhan, pembiasaan salat berjamaah, dan kajian keputrian.
