Abstract

Indonesia's tropical forests, especially in the Gunung Rinjani National Park (TNGR) area, play an important role in supporting biodiversity and the welfare of local communities. However, the traditional harvesting of forest bee honey (Apis dorsata) often does not take into account the principles of ecological sustainability, which has the potential to damage bee habitat. This activity aims to develop the technical and ecological competence of bee hunters through conservation-based training, which integrates local wisdom with scientific approaches. The method used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), with a participatory approach in five stages: socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed an increase in technical capacity, ecological understanding, and changes in the behavior of bee hunters towards more environmentally friendly harvesting practices. The implication of this activity is the creation of a sustainable honey harvesting model, which not only conserves bee habitat but also increases the economic income of local communities. Keywords: Honey harvesting, Ecological sustainability, Apis dorsata, Conservation, Mount Rinjani National Park

Abstract

Suara Hati PKBM, located in Nanggerang Village, Tajur Halang District, Bogor Regency, is a non-formal educational institution established in 2016 that has experienced an increase in the number of students every year. Most of the learners come from lower-middle-income families, street children, and underprivileged communities, yet they have high motivation to continue their education while gaining useful skills. One of the vocational training programs focuses on local potential entrepreneurship, namely cassava chips production. However, the lack of entrepreneurial skills and marketing strategies, including the use of digital marketing and business management, has hindered the development of this business. The aim of this community service activity is to enhance entrepreneurship capacity and marketing mix understanding among Suara Hati PKBM learners, particularly in developing cassava chip products. The program was carried out through stages of socialization, training (marketing mix, digital marketing, business management, and cassava chip production practice), technology implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills, as shown by the average increase in pre-test to post-test scores of 38.69%. Participants were able to innovate products by adding flavor variants, improving packaging, setting competitive prices, expanding distribution through social media and e-commerce, and implementing simple financial records. The application of the marketing mix proved to enhance product competitiveness, while the strengthening of entrepreneurial skills boosted participants’ confidence in managing their businesses. This activity concludes that the combination of entrepreneurship skills and digital marketing strategies can serve as a replicable model for local skill-based MSME empowerment in various regions

Abstract

Women are the spearhead of the family in terms of domestic roles, but their public and economic roles are also crucial. The Bangsing Women's Farmers Group (KWT) is one such group capable of adding value to family income. However, their business operations are not yet optimal, requiring assistance in areas such as technology, marketing, and financial management. The objective of this activity is to provide assistance to the KWT business and provide guidance in marketing and financial management. The method used was Participatory Research Action (PAR). PAR focused on mentoring activities based on the participation of 20 group members in the activities. This was done by analyzing the increase in knowledge and understanding of the training and mentoring materials. The method used was a pre-test and post-test questionnaire. The results showed an increase in knowledge of 87%, 80% in understanding, and 100% in participation. This demonstrates that empowering the Bangsing women's farmer group can improve knowledge, understanding, and participation. This increase has led to an increase in business types, such as nurseries, livestock farming, and waste processing, which provide additional income for women's farming groups. This represents a 75% increase in business types and a 78% increase in income compared to the previous year.

Abstract

Abstract

This community engagement program was designed to strengthen the capacity of residents in Kampoeng Oase Songo, Simomulyo, Surabaya, in managing organic waste through the cultivation of maggots (Hermetia illucens) and the production of high-nutrient fish pellets as an alternative feed source. The program adopted an appropriate technology approach consisting of maggot farming training, pellet formulation, digital business record-keeping, and digital marketing workshops. The formulated pellets achieved a crude protein level of 30–32% and metabolizable energy of 2900–3100 kcal/kg, thereby meeting the nutritional requirements for both fish and poultry feed. In parallel, the digital marketing training enhanced participants’ capacity in product branding, content creation, and the effective use of e-commerce platforms. Overall, the program not only improved residents’ technical and entrepreneurial skills but also reinforced local circular economy practices. Furthermore, it provided tangible contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in advancing food security (SDG 2) and promoting sustainable waste management (SDG 12).

Abstract

ABSTRACT This community engagement initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs in Jabung Village, Panekan Subdistrict, Magetan Regency, East Java, through the implementation of product innovation and the utilization of digital technology to strengthen the local economy. The primary challenges faced by the target group include limited knowledge of digital marketing, poor packaging quality, and restricted market reach. The program was executed through a series of activities comprising training sessions, technology transfer, demonstrations, and intensive mentoring, involving 15 women entrepreneurs as core partners. A participatory approach based on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) was employed, enabling active involvement of participants in every stage of the program. The outcomes indicate a significant improvement in the participants' ability to manage digital business accounts on platforms such as Tokopedia, Instagram Business, Facebook Business, and TikTok Business, with an average understanding increase of 73%, as measured by pre- and post-test evaluations. Furthermore, 85% of participants successfully created and managed online business accounts, 75% consistently uploaded product content with enhanced appeal, and 80% actively utilized social media for promotional purposes. Innovation was also evident in packaging design, with 85% of participants developing brand-identified labels, thereby enhancing consumer perception and market appeal. The tangible impacts of the program include an average sales increase of 25%, expansion of market reach beyond the village, and a rise in women's contribution to household income from 10–15% to 25–30%. These findings underscore that MSME digitalization through training, technology transfer, and branding enhancement can significantly improve women's economic independence while sustainably strengthening the local economy. Keywords: women empowerment, entrepreneurship, digitalization, product innovation, branding, local economy.

Abstract

The Sejalan Group is a bundo kanduang organization in Nagari Simalanggang, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, with 13 members. The Sejalan Group carries out business activities, one of which is processing noodles made from fruit, vegetables and other food ingredients. The problems faced by the Sejalan Group are low production capacity, relatively long production time, and the lack of nutritional information on the packaging. The solution to these problems is to provide a mixer and roll press machine with a capacity 10 kg of each, as well as conducting an analysis of the nutritional content of the noodles. The results of the activity show that production time efficiency is achieved because the mixing process is faster and more even than manually, consistency of noodle quality is obtained because the dough is more homogeneous so that the noodles have a uniform color, texture and thickness. The production scale increases because the Sejalan Group can start producing noodles in larger quantities in one process, so it is able to meet consumer demand and reach a wider market. Noodle quality analysis is carried out on samples of chicken variant noodles with added spinach as the Sejalan Group's flagship product. The analysis showed that the chicken noodle variant with added spinach contained an average protein content of 14.94%, fat content of 3.21%, water content of 8.81%, ash content of 2.34%, and crude fiber content of 0.69%. These results indicate that the Sejalan Group noodles meet the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 8217:2015) for dry noodles

Abstract

Nile tilapia farming at the household industry "Usaha Nila Benar", Labuapi, West Lombok, faces high production costs due to dependence on expensive commercial feed. This article discusses a community service activity aimed at improving production efficiency by integrating commercial feed with a local alternative feed from Lemna minor (duckweed). The implementation method used a participatory demonstration plot (demplot) approach. The activities included socialization, training on Lemna minor cultivation and business management, application of combined feed technology (70-80% pellets, 20-30% Lemna minor), ongoing mentoring, and evaluation. The application of feed combination successfully reduced production costs by up to 30% without sacrificing the quality and quantity of the harvest. Partners became more independent in managing their farming business by utilizing sustainable and environmentally friendly local resources. The integration of Lemna minor as an alternative feed proved effective in achieving the activity's goals: increasing production efficiency, reducing dependence on commercial feed, empowering partners, and supporting sustainable food security
