Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop an Android-based Mathematics learning media for training students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, researchers are interested in designing Mathematics learning media for Critical Thinking. This media development discusses the model proposed by Johannesson, P., and Perjons, E., (2014) using a five-step design research and development process, namely problem analysis, determining requirements, designing and developing products, demonstrating products, and developing products . Android-based learning media that are designed are validated by a validator and then tried out in class IV SDS Al-Azhar Bukittinggi to learn the practicality of the developed media. Based on the results of this study indicate that the Android-based Mathematics learning media for Critical Thinking that was developed was appropriate to be used in learning by teachers and students. Based on several stages of the trial, instructional media are categorized valid with a feasibility level of 68, and categorized as very practical with 90.7%. This research is expected to be a learning medium for Mathematics for Critical Thinking, and can be useful for teachers, students, and advanced researchers.

Abstract

This research is motivated by thematic learning which so far the teacher in teaching thematic learning is still separated by subject so that less effective thematic learning takes place. Besides that the standard of completeness in the desired thematic learning has not been achieved. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning process of mathematics using the inquiry approach for class II SDN 35 Kuranji. The approach used is a qualitative and quantitative approach. This research data is in the form of information about the process and data on the results of actions obtained from the results of attitude assessment, knowledge assessment, skills assessment. The data source is the process and results of the implementation of thematic learning using the inquiry approach in class II SDN 35 Kuranji. The results of the study increasedobservation of RPP inthe firstcyclwas 82.95%, in the second cycle 83.90% and in the third cycle 90.90%. The teacher aspect of the first cycle was 80.35%, the second cycle 92.25% to 92.85% in the second cycle and in the aspects of the student cycle I was 80.35% to the first cycle to 92.85% in the third cycle. So, the inquiry approach can improve the integrated thematic learning process.Key terms: integrated thematic learning, inquiry approach

Abstract

This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) using qualitative and quantitative approaches. Held in two cycles, the first cycle consisted of 2 meetings, and the second cycle consisted of 1 meeting. The subjects of the study were 26 fourth grade students of SDN 21 Taluak, Banuhampu Subdistrict. The results showed an increase. The study was conducted in two cycles. The results of the first cycle study on lesson plans averaged 81,25% (B), increasing in the second cycle to 96,8% (SB). The implementation of the first cycle on teacher activities averaged 87,5% (B), increasing in the second cycle to 96,4% (SB). The implementation of the first cycle on student activities averaged 87,5% (B), increasing in the second cycle to 96,42% (SB). Student learning outcomes in the first cycle averaged80,6% (B), increasing in the second cycle to 88,2% (SB) Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning in elementary schools.
