Abstract

Picture story books are able to attract attention because their appearance is very much liked by children, reading picture stories stimulates children's imagination and curiosity about an event. This study aims to determine the learning process and results of students' reading activities using picture story books in improving the early reading skills of grade II students at SDN 1 Sedeng. This study uses a qualitative research type, with a descriptive method. The subjects of the study included the homeroom teacher for grade II and 7 grade II students at SDN 1 Sedeng. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results of this study in the use of picture story books in grade II of SDN 1 Sedeng effectively improved students' reading skills, especially for those who were slow readers. Interesting illustrations and simple texts make students more enthusiastic and easy to understand the contents of the story. Although there are obstacles such as excessive focus on pictures and difficulty reading long words, this media still helps increase students' interest, understanding, and participation in learning.

Abstract

Collaboration with children with special needs is the ability to work together in social activities. This ability can be developed through active involvement in activities such as scout outbound. This study aims to explore information related to the implementation of scouting activities designed to train children with special needs collaboration through scout outbound activities. This research also aims to find out the indicators that children with disabilities have in participating in scout outbound activities. This research is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. The subjects consisted of three children with disabilities who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the data analysis concluded that, firstly, scout outbound activities are effective in training collaboration between children with disabilities, as well as improving communication, responsibility and courage. Although there were obstacles such as difficulty focusing and waiting for their turn. Secondly, the five aspects of collaboration showed positive results. In general, the children's collaboration skills improved through active participation, supportive interactions and performing tasks according to role. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the inhibiting factors in the utilization of the library and to explore teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the library’s role as a learning resource at SD Negeri Bangunrejo Kidul 5. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the inhibiting factors in library utilization include: a) the absence of library staff (librarians); b) limited book collections; and c) the lack of literacy programs and scheduled visits. 2) Teachers perceive the library as an important part of the learning process, but it has not been utilized optimally. 3) Students view the library as a place to gain knowledge, but its use remains limited due to inadequate facilities and lack of comfort. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan peningkatan minat belajar matematika melalui media Open The Box pada materi perkalian siswa kelas III SDN 2 Sidomulyo. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek 21 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Open The Box meningkatkan minat belajar siswa secara signifikan. Siswa terlihat lebih antusias, aktif, dan fokus selama pembelajaran. Hasil angket menunjukkan 68% siswa memiliki minat sangat tinggi dan 32% tinggi. Media Open The Box terbukti efektif menciptakan suasana belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan sehingga meningkatkan minat belajar matematika pada materi perkalian.

Abstract

Akses teknologi yang berkembang memungkinkan anak untuk bisa masuk di ruang digital. Sayangnya, aksesibilitas ini juga membawa konsekuensi berupa risiko dan ancaman di dunia daring. Sebagai bentuk perlindungan, Kementerian PPPA meluncurkan program Informasi Layak Anak (ILA) yang dirancang sebagai pusat sekaligus tempat yang dapat menfasilitasi anak memperolah informasi yang aman. Sayangnya, ILA banyak dipahami hanya sebagai tempat, padahal orang tua memegang peranan yang signifikan dalam membantu anak mendapatkan informasi di ruang digital. Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini berusaha menjelaskan pengetahuan orang tua tentang informasi layak anak (ILA) terhadap keputusannya memberikan gawai pada anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif eksploratif dan melakukan wawancara kepada 16 orang tua yang memiliki anak kelas rendah di Sekolah Dasar (SD) dan telah memberikan gawai pada anaknya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Sebagian besar informan yang diwawancarai belum memahami ILA, namun pada praktiknya mereka telah melakukan sejumlah upaya untuk memastikan anak mendapatkan dampak positif dari penggunaan gawai. Selain itu orang tua juga berupaya mengatur penggunaan gawai pada anak, baik dengan menetapkan aturan dalam keluarga hingga mengalihkan perhatian ke kegiatan positif lainnya.

Abstract

Interview learning in elementary schools requires interpersonal communication skills supported by students’ courage and self-confidence. However, instructional practices still tend to limit students’ opportunities to engage in authentic communication. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Role-Play method in stimulating the interpersonal communication confidence of fourth-grade students in Indonesian language interview learning. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach conducted at SDN 1 Way Mili during the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation, and were analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that the Role-Play method enhances students’ confidence in expressing opinions, asking questions, maintaining eye contact, speaking more clearly, and responding to interlocutors. It can be concluded that Role Play is effective in creating communicative and contextual interview learning while supporting the development of elementary school students’ interpersonal communication confidence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler karawitan di SDN 3 Ngromo, meliputi pelaksanaan kegiatan, nilai-nilai karakter yang ditanamkan, serta dampaknya terhadap siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ekstrakurikuler karawitan dilaksanakan secara terencana dan rutin, dengan dukungan dari kepala sekolah dan pelatih. Nilai-nilai karakter yang terbentuk antara lain disiplin, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, percaya diri, dan cinta budaya lokal. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya melestarikan seni tradisional, tetapi juga menjadi media efektif dalam membentuk perilaku positif siswa di lingkungan sekolah dan masyarakat.

Abstract

Abstract The Literacy and Numeracy League Week is an implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum aimed at improving students’ literacy and numeracy skills while fostering a fun and contextual learning culture. This study aims to describe the activity design, implementation, challenges, and efforts undertaken in the Literacy and Numeracy League Week at SDN 18 Tubung. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SDN 18 Tubung. The results indicate that the design and implementation of the Literacy and Numeracy League Week generally ran well; however, improvements are still needed in the planning stage. The main challenges encountered were limited time and the shortage of committee members, which were addressed by involving students’ parents. Based on these findings, the Literacy and Numeracy League Week can serve as an alternative learning strategy for teachers and prospective teachers. Keywords: literacy, numeracy, league week.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in developing the communication skills of deaf students in Grade Six of Karya Murni Special Needs School, Medan. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation and interviews with homeroom teachers as key informants. The results indicate that teachers play a crucial role as facilitators and mediators in developing the communication skills of deaf students through the use of sign language, visual media, and intensive direct interaction. Teachers also implement various strategies such as total communication, the use of visual learning media, and repetition of material to facilitate student understanding. However, several obstacles are encountered, including limited student vocabulary, differences in communication ability levels, and learning that tends to be general and repetitive. Therefore, the development of more innovative, adaptive, and individual-needs-based learning strategies is needed to optimally improve communication skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Domatika (Mathematics Domino) game-based learning model in fostering mathematics learning interest among Phase C students at MIM Gembuk II. This research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of two teachers and eight students involved in the mathematics learning process. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Domatika game was able to create a more active, interactive, and enjoyable learning environment. Based on the observation results, students appeared more enthusiastic, actively engaged in discussions, and more focused on solving mathematical problems through the game. The interview results indicated that both teachers and students responded positively to the use of the Mathematics Domino game, as it helped students understand mathematical concepts more easily. In addition, the questionnaire results showed an increase in students’ learning interest, which was reflected in their enjoyment, attention, and active participation during the learning process. Therefore, the implementation of the Domatika game-based learning model can serve as an effective alternative learning strategy for fostering students’ interest in learning mathematics.
