Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of local organic fertilizer in Lumajang through farmer assistance and educational activities. The main problem faced by P4S Asri Farm Kedungrejo was the high rate of farmers shifting to fertilizer products from Banyuwangi, which were considered more effective in increasing crop yields. The program involved 30 farmers from the assisted farmer group of P4S Asri Farm Kedungrejo. The activities were implemented using a participatory approach through five stages: initial survey, focus group discussion and SWOT analysis, training on improving the quality of locally based organic fertilizer production, assistance in packaging innovation and community-based promotion, and monitoring and evaluation. The results showed a 40% increase in farmers’ understanding of the advantages of local organic fertilizer based on pre-test and post-test results. Farmers’ confidence in local fertilizer also increased, followed by a rise in the use of local fertilizer from 35% to 55% within one planting season. The program also produced practical outputs, including a 30-page training module, improved product packaging, and the establishment of a farmer-based promotion team. These findings indicate that participatory and field-based assistance can strengthen farmers’ trust and encourage the gradual adoption of local organic fertilizer, thereby supporting agricultural sustainability and local farming resilience in Lumajang.

Abstract

Student MSMEs often face economic vulnerability due to intuitive and unmeasured decision-making, particularly in setting selling prices that are both competitive and profitable in a price-sensitive market. This community service program aimed to strengthen the managerial capacity and data literacy of 30 student entrepreneurs at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi through spreadsheet-based regression analysis as an appropriate technology. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through intensive training, hands-on mentoring using participants’ actual business data, and impact evaluation. The results showed a 110.1% increase in participants’ analytical competence after the intervention. Participants were able to move from intuition-based pricing toward more systematic and data-driven pricing decisions. In addition, the program encouraged more consistent sales data recording and improved participants’ ability to evaluate pricing alternatives based on demand patterns. This program contributed not only to strengthening technical and managerial skills but also to supporting the economic independence and business sustainability of student MSMEs.

Abstract

Assessment of student learning outcomes in elementary schools is still largely conducted manually, which is time-consuming and increases teachers’ administrative workload. This condition was also found at SDN 58 Lubuklinggau, where teachers had not yet optimally used digital technology to correct students’ answer sheets. This community service program aimed to improve teachers’ knowledge and skills in conducting automatic answer corrections using the EvalBee application based on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology. The program was implemented through socialization, material presentation, hands-on practice, and technical assistance involving 15 teachers. Evaluation was conducted using pretest and posttest questionnaires. The results showed an increase in teachers’ understanding and skills from 45.33% before training to 97.33% after training. Teachers were able to install the application, create answer sheets, scan students’ responses, and download the assessment results. EvalBee was also perceived to accelerate the correction process, improve assessment accuracy, and reduce teachers’ administrative workload. This program shows that practice-based training can serve as a model for strengthening teachers’ digital assessment literacy in elementary schools.
