Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen the values of religious moderation among the congregation of Majelis Nurul Musthafa, Turisari, Palur, Mojolaban, Sukoharjo, through an in-depth study of the meaning of Qashidah Burdah by Imam al-Busiri. The activity was motivated by the need to transform the recitation of Qashidah Burdah from a routine religious practice into a reflective learning process that emphasizes moral, spiritual, and social values. This program used a descriptive-qualitative approach with participatory and reflective methods, involving the congregation as active participants in the learning process. The stages of the activity included initial observation, socialization of religious moderation, thematic study of selected verses of Qashidah Burdah, reflective discussion, and assistance in preparing the annual da’wah theme of the majelis. The results showed that the congregation began to understand Qashidah Burdah not only as a text of praise to Prophet Muhammad, but also as a source of values related to gentleness, tolerance, balance, moral exemplarity, and universal compassion. The activity also resulted in the formulation of an annual study theme based on religious moderation and the formation of moderate da’wah cadres. This community service contributes to developing a model of cultural da’wah based on classical Islamic literature, religious literacy, and community-based character education.

Abstract

Public service at the urban village level plays an important role in shaping community satisfaction with local government services. This study aims to analyze the influence of communication and service quality on community satisfaction at the Kebonrejo Urban Village Office, Salaman District, Magelang Regency. This research used a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected from 150 respondents using purposive sampling through questionnaires distributed from January to March 2026. The results show that communication has a positive and significant effect on community satisfaction (t = 4.738, p < 0.001), service quality has a positive and significant effect on community satisfaction (t = 8.308, p < 0.001), and communication and service quality simultaneously have a significant effect on community satisfaction (F = 45.321, p < 0.001). The adjusted R square value of 0.373 indicates that communication and service quality explain 37.3% of the variation in community satisfaction. Based on the standardized beta value, service quality is the dominant factor influencing community satisfaction. These findings imply that improving service responsiveness, reliability, and communication clarity can support better public service delivery at the urban village office level.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged banking institutions, including rural banks, to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and digital service capacity. This study aims to analyze the implementation of information technology at PT. BPR BKK Muntilan (Perseroda) and its contribution to operational effectiveness, work process efficiency, and digital service productivity. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with a single case study design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with six informants consisting of an operational director, an IT manager, two branch managers, and two operational staff, as well as documentation of internal transaction reports and IT-related documents. The findings show that the implementation of IBSBranchless Online supports faster transaction processing, easier customer data retrieval, more structured reporting, and reduced recording errors. The use of information technology also contributed to efficiency, as indicated by reduced data search time, paper usage, administrative costs, and transaction recording errors. Digital service productivity increased, as reflected in the rise of digital transactions from 45,179 records in 2022 to 134,068 records in 2025, with a peak of 145,771 records in 2024. However, the implementation still faces challenges, including limited IT infrastructure, insufficient employee training, and suboptimal system integration. This study recommends gradual infrastructure upgrades, continuous IT training, and API- or middleware-based system integration.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) play a strategic role in improving rural community welfare through the management of local economic potential. However, many BUMDes, including BUMDes Nawangwulan in Kendal Regency, still face challenges in financial governance, such as manual and unsystematic recording, limited use of standardized bookkeeping formats, and low adoption of digital recording tools. This community service activity aimed to strengthen the financial governance of BUMDes Nawangwulan through accounting training, mentoring, and the introduction of a Google Worksheet-based financial recording template. The activity applied a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach consisting of four stages: socialization, technical workshop, coaching clinic, and monitoring and evaluation. The program involved 12 BUMDes managers from three business units: Pom Mini Desa, Pasar Desa, and Jembatan Penghubung Antar Kecamatan. The results indicate that the activity provided initial support for improving participants’ understanding of transaction recording, separation of personal and business finances, and the use of simple bookkeeping templates. The program also introduced a digital recording template that can be accessed through smartphones as a practical alternative to manual bookkeeping. The evaluation was conducted qualitatively through observation during one-on-one mentoring; therefore, the findings should be understood as an initial indication of improved awareness and administrative readiness rather than a quantitatively measured increase in competence. This activity contributes to strengthening basic financial administration and supporting more transparent and accountable BUMDes governance.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding remains an important public health strategy to support infant growth and development during the first 1,000 days of life. In Dusun VIII, Bangun Rejo Village, Deli Serdang Regency, exclusive breastfeeding coverage is estimated at 65–70%, which is still below the national target of 80%. Several contributing factors include limited breastfeeding management skills, mothers’ perception of insufficient milk production, limited family support, and the lack of standardized educational media for Posyandu cadres. This community service programme aimed to strengthen the role of Posyandu/PKK cadres in supporting breastfeeding mothers through education, practical introduction to Oketani Massage, and the use of an Oketani Massage E-Booklet as digital educational media. The programme was implemented in Bangun Rejo Village from 20 February to 25 March 2026 using a participatory and descriptive community empowerment approach. The activities included socialization, exclusive breastfeeding literacy education, Oketani Massage simulation using a breast phantom, distribution of the E-Booklet, and descriptive evaluation through attendance records, activity documentation, observation, and informal feedback from cadre representatives. A total of 15 Posyandu/PKK cadres participated in the activity. The programme produced an Oketani Massage E-Booklet and received positive responses from cadres, particularly regarding its usefulness as a practical reference that can be accessed repeatedly through mobile phones. This programme contributes to community-based breastfeeding support by providing cadres with basic lactation education, practical simulation experience, and reusable digital learning material.

Abstract

Workplace developments and increasing demands for professionalism in public service require students to develop strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate in English and apply professional meeting etiquette. However, some students still face challenges in oral communication, self-confidence, and the application of communication etiquette in professional settings. This community service program aimed to enhance students’ capacity through English Communication and Meeting Etiquette training to support professionalism in public service. The program involved 30 Public Administration students and was implemented using an experiential learning approach through material delivery, meeting simulations, public service communication practice, mentoring, and evaluation. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests, post-tests, and skill observations. Based on the activity evaluation recap, the participants’ average score increased from 61 in the pre-test to 85 in the post-test. Observation results also indicated improvements in speaking skills, presentation skills, self-confidence, and the application of professional meeting etiquette. These results suggest that English Communication and Meeting Etiquette training contributes positively to improving students’ professional communication skills in supporting high-quality and responsive public service.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged culinary businesses to adopt more adaptive and interactive marketing strategies. However, Cafe and Resto De.Joglo in Jember Regency still faced several problems in optimizing digital platforms, including inconsistent social media management, limited promotional content planning, and incomplete business information on digital platforms. This community service program aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of Cafe and Resto De.Joglo managers in applying digital marketing as a business promotion strategy. The activity was conducted through four stages: preparation, education, training, and evaluation. The participants consisted of two business managers who were directly responsible for marketing and digital media management. The materials covered basic concepts of digital marketing, social media management, content creation, product photography, Google Business Profile optimization, and the “Post & Get” promotional program. The results showed that the participants gained better understanding of digital marketing concepts, became more capable of preparing simple promotional content, understood the importance of consistent social media management, and started improving business information on digital platforms. The activity also produced an initial digital promotion plan that can be implemented by the partner. However, the impact on business performance, such as customer growth, social media engagement, and revenue, still requires long-term monitoring. Therefore, further assistance and periodic evaluation are needed to ensure sustainable digital marketing implementation.

Abstract

Plastic and fabric waste are environmental problems faced by the Mekarsari Village community, characterized by limited final disposal facilities and the practice of burning waste and disposing of it into the river. This community service activity aimed to encourage community participation in managing plastic and fabric waste through an ecobrick-based program. The activity was carried out using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach consisting of planning, implementation, monitoring, and reflection stages by involving the community, curtain MSMEs as contributors of fabric waste, and village government officials. Data were collected through participatory observation, documentation, questionnaires, and informal interviews. The results showed community participation in collecting and processing plastic and fabric waste into ecobricks. The main achievement of this activity was an installation artwork bearing the village name, composed of 470 ecobrick bottles and placed in front of the Mekarsari Village Office as an educational medium. This activity indicates that a participatory ecobrick-based approach can be an alternative strategy for strengthening community awareness and participation in waste management.

Abstract

Metut Village, Mentarang Hulu District, Malinau Regency, North Kalimantan, possesses abundant woody biomass residues that remain largely underutilized despite their potential economic and environmental value. Simultaneously, local communities face challenges related to low soil fertility and limited success in agarwood (Aquilaria spp.) seed germination. This community service program aimed to introduce pyrolysis technology for converting woody biomass into biochar and liquid smoke while strengthening local capacity through training and technology transfer. By converting biomass residues that were previously left unmanaged or openly burned into valuable products, the program directly contributes to more sustainable biomass waste management at the village level. The three-day program involved 25 participants, including farmers, agarwood cultivators, village officials, women engaged in agriculture, and village youth. Activities comprised educational workshops, practical demonstrations, hands-on training, and the donation of a portable pyrolysis unit. Program effectiveness was evaluated through pre-test and post-test assessments and observation of participants’ practical performance. Results demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge, with average scores rising from 34.2% before training to 82.7% after training, reflecting a marked enhancement in community capacity to independently manage biomass resources.  All participants successfully operated the pyrolysis unit during practical sessions. A demonstration run using 12 kg of dry woody branches yielded approximately 3.2 kg of biochar and 2.1 L of liquid smoke, both promising for improving soil fertility and supporting agarwood cultivation. The donated equipment and operational manual provide a practical, replicable foundation for continued community-led biochar and liquid smoke production, supporting the long-term sustainability of biomass utilization and value-added agricultural applications.

Abstract

The development of an administrative service handbook for psychology assistants at the Sinar Talenta Foundation was motivated by the need for structured work guidelines in administrative service practices. This activity aimed to develop a handbook that can serve as an initial reference for psychology assistants in understanding workflows, administrative procedures, psychological test administration, client data management, and monthly reporting. The approach used was simple product development with an initial user acceptance evaluation. Initial information on technical needs was obtained through unstructured field observation and communication with the foundation. The handbook was developed through five stages: planning, preparation, writing, editing, and evaluation. The evaluation was conducted using a 1–4 scale questionnaire consisting of 14 items covering content, guide clarity, visual presentation, language, and usability. The initial evaluation by one user showed a total score of 46 out of 56, which falls into the high category. These results indicate that the handbook is considered feasible as an initial internal guide for supporting administrative service standardization at the foundation. However, further evaluation involving more users is needed to examine its broader usability and long-term effectiveness.
