Abstract

Football is one of the sports that can support physical, mental, and social development, especially during the optimal development period (golden age) of adolescents. This period, which occurs at the age of 13-17, is an important period in physical development and motor skills. This study aims to analyze the influence of football on the optimal development of adolescent girls in this age range. The study used the cross-cutting method by involving 60 adolescent girls who actively participated in football training at a football school in Central Java. The data collected included physical development (height, weight, and nutritional status based on BMI/age), motor development (balance, agility, and muscle strength), and social development (team interaction and confidence). The results showed that participation in football had a significant influence on physical (p0.05), motor (p0.01), and social (p0.01) development. This study concludes that football provides positive benefits during the optimal development period of adolescent girls, especially in physical, motor, and social aspects. Longitudinal studies with larger population coverage are needed to identify appropriate exercise strategies to maximize progression without increasing the risk of injury.

Abstract

This article examines the interplay between regional tourism, economic competitiveness, and regional development through an extensive review of existing literature. It explores theoretical frameworks that explain tourism’s contribution to economic growth and regional development, alongside their practical applications. Historically, regional development theories largely excluded tourism, as regional economics and location studies prioritized manufacturing and urban-centric development over services and rural areas. This oversight led to the emergence of tourism as an independent academic discipline, focused on tailored frameworks such as destination competitiveness and tourism marketing. The review identifies key determinants of regional tourism competitiveness, including governance quality, infrastructure, human capital, sustainability, and digital transformation, which collectively shape a region’s ability to attract and retain tourism-related economic benefits. It highlights the gaps in existing research, such as insufficient integration of regional competitiveness frameworks with localized socio-economic contexts and limited attention to climate resilience and stakeholder collaboration. This study concludes by proposing future research directions, including comparative studies across regions, interdisciplinary approaches to competitiveness, and the role of emerging technologies in shaping competitive and sustainable regional tourism ecosystems. These insights provide valuable guidance for academics, policymakers, and practitioners aiming to leverage tourism as a catalyst for sustainable regional economic growth.

Abstract

This research explores leadership strategies in Islamic boarding school education management in the digital era, with a focus on the Darussalam Blokagung Islamic Boarding School. Researchers use Everett Rogers' (1962) Innovation Adoption theory. Because the theory is comprehensive and relevant for understanding the implementation of technology in Islamic boarding schools in the digital era. By understanding this theory, Islamic boarding school leaders can develop effective strategies for implementing technology and improving the quality of learning in Islamic boarding schools. A qualitative case study approach was used to understand the unique Islamic boarding school context and its challenges in integrating technology. Research findings show that the implementation of technology in Islamic boarding school education presents challenges and opportunities. The main challenges are the lack of adequate technological infrastructure, high implementation costs, and socio-cultural impacts. However, technology also offers opportunities to improve the quality of learning, such as developing relevant curricula, implementing learning methods that utilize technology, increasing student engagement, and preparing students to face global demands. Effective leadership strategies in managing Islamic boarding school education in the digital era include the use of technology, building a culture of collaboration between staff, students and parents, as well as evaluating and monitoring the progress of technology implementation. Implementing these strategies can help Islamic boarding schools to improve the quality of education, prepare students for the future, and preserve the Islamic values and identity of Islamic boarding schools in the digital era.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of science and technology demands education to equip students with critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Science education, particularly chemistry, plays a vital role in fostering these skills through appropriate teaching approaches. However, chemistry learning at SMA Negeri 1 Syamtalira Bayu, North Aceh, still faces challenges such as low student interest, dominance of lecture-based methods, and weak psychomotor skills. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the inquiry-based experimental learning model in enhancing students' procedural skills. The research employed a mixed-method approach with an exploratory sequential design, involving two classes: experimental and control. The results showed that students in the experimental class experienced significant improvements in procedural skills, such as preparation, execution of experiments, observation, and collaboration. The inquiry approach encouraged active student engagement and the development of scientific attitudes. Compared to conventional methods, this model proved to be more effective in developing students’ psychomotor skills. Therefore, implementing inquiry-based experimental learning is recommended as an innovative strategy in chemistry education to foster active, skilled, and scientifically minded students.
