Abstract

Tourism villages are a rapidly growing segment in tourism, offering authentic cultural experiences. To enhance these experiences, the concept of sensory marketing offers a robust framework; however, its application within the context of heritage-based tourism villages remains limited. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the sensory experiences of tourists in Sade Tourism Village and explore their implications for marketing strategies. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, this study explores the meaning of the lived experiences of 18 participants, comprising both tourists and managers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically to identify patterns and the essence of their experiences. The findings indicate that the tourist experience in Sade Village is dominated by the senses of sight (unique architecture) and touch (the experience of trying weaving). Conversely, the auditory and olfactory experiences are not consistently perceived, while the gustatory (culinary) experience is the weakest and most inadequate. From a marketing perspective, the village's strategy was found to be organic but lacked strategic planning. To optimize its marketing, heritage-based tourism villages cannot rely solely on visual authenticity but must consciously manage and integrate all five sensory dimensions to create a holistic, memorable, and sustainable experience.

This research aims to identify and analyze the elements of sustainable tourism implemented in Sade Village. The methods used in this research include several methods as follows: field observations, interviews with local residents, and literature reviews related to sustainable tourism. The research results show that elements of sustainable tourism in Sade Village include preserving traditional culture, sustainable environmental management, and active involvement of local communities in tourism activities. Despite this, challenges such as pressure from ever-increasing tourist numbers and the risks of cultural commercialization still need to be addressed to ensure long-term sustainability. This research concludes that the implementation of sustainable tourism in Sade Village needs to be improved through policies that support cultural and environmental preservation, as well as increasing the capacity of local communities in dealing with changes caused by tourism.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in natural resources and cultural heritage, with the tourism sector being one of its major contributors to foreign exchange. In West Java, particularly in Bandung City, there is a well-known cultural and educational tourism destination, Saung Angklung Udjo. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at Saung Angklung Udjo and to identify the obstacles encountered in their application. The research employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and literature studies. The findings indicate, first, that there are twelve types of SOP implemented at Saung Angklung Udjo, which include SOPs for Art Performances, Education, Facility Management, Cultural Preservation, Products, Employees, Tour Guides, Visitors, Guest Services and Performances, Angklung Production and Maintenance, Marketing and Promotion, and Crisis Management. However, the implementation of these SOPs has not been optimal due to reliance on old work habits, direct instructions, and situational adjustments in the field. Second, several challenges in SOP implementation were identified, including limited socialization and compliance, insufficient evaluation and procedural updates, and constraints in human resources. This study is expected to provide insights and contributions to Saung Angklung Udjo in improving service quality and operational effectiveness, thereby supporting sustainability and professionalism in managing cultural tourism destinations.

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of tourism policy in Belitung Regency, focusing on the role of digital communication and community empowerment in developing sustainable ecotourism. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study and thematic analysis of official government documents, the study reveals a gap between policy and practice on the ground. The results indicate that sustainable ecotourism is hindered by environmental degradation and pollution, digital communication is not yet optimal due to low digital literacy and fragmented information systems, and community empowerment remains weak with minimal participation and a low entrepreneurship ratio. The study concludes that a strong synergy between digital strategies, community strengthening, and environmental law enforcement is essential to achieve tourism that is not only economically beneficial but also socially and ecologically sustainable.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of Event Organizers in activating tourism activities in Bantaragung Village, Majalengka Regency, West Java, through a case study of the 2024 Bumi Bantaragung Festival organized by Sauyunan Creation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Findings reveal that the Event Organizer plays a central role across three critical stages: pre-event planning and knowledge transfer, during-event management and MSME activation, and post-event capacity building and infrastructure sustainability. Results indicate that Event Organizer intervention provides significant benefits economically through increased local MSME income, socio-culturally through preservation of local traditions, and organizationally through capacity transfer enabling independent village management. However, the study identifies challenges related to rapid social change and unequal distribution of economic impacts requiring continued assistance. This study contributes to community-based tourism literature by presenting a collaborative model among Event Organizers, financial institutions, and local communities that can be replicated for sustainable tourism village development in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of improving product quality as a key factor in maintaining a company’s competitiveness in the digital printing industry. One of the main determinants of product quality improvement lies in the work culture and customer focus implemented within the organization. CV Digital Printing, as a company engaged in printing services, must ensure that both aspects function effectively to produce products that meet customer needs and expectations. However, based on preliminary observations, inconsistencies were found in the implementation of work culture, as well as suboptimal long-term relationships with customers, which affect the quality of production outcomes. The research problems formulated in this study are: (1) How are the work culture, customer focus, and product quality at CV Digital Printing? (2) To what extent do work culture and customer focus partially and simultaneously influence product quality? The research method used is quantitative with an associative–verificative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of CV Digital Printing and analyzed using path analysis with the help of SPSS version 26. Validity, reliability, and normality tests were conducted to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of the research model. The results of the study show that, descriptively, work culture, customer focus, and product quality are categorized as fairly good, indicating room for improvement. Verificatively, work culture and customer focus have a positive and significant effect on product quality, both partially and simultaneously. The combination of a conducive work culture and strong customer focus creates a positive synergy that contributes to the improvement of product quality and the company’s competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Cisadane Festival as a cultural tourism attraction in Tangerang City using a qualitative method through literature review, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Cisadane Festival, which originated from the Peh Cun tradition and was formalized in 1991, plays a multidimensional role as a medium for preserving tradition, a space for multicultural social interaction, a driver of the local economy, and a tourism promotion strategy. The festival features a variety of activities such as cultural performances, water sports competitions, MSME product exhibitions, traditional culinary showcases, and modern entertainment that blend harmoniously, thereby strengthening Tangerang City’s image as a cultural destination representing the acculturation between Chinese and local traditions. Considering its historical value and iconic character, the Cisadane Festival needs to be preserved and held consistently from year to year as a form of commitment to safeguarding cultural heritage and strengthening Tangerang City’s tourism identity.
