Abstract

Indonesia's Demographic Bonus refers to the number of productive age population which is higher than the elderly population. Improving the quality of human resources must continue to be carried out to make human resources knowledgeable, cultured in attitude or character, and competitive. Adat Basandi Syara', Syara' Basandi Kitabullah (ABS-SBK) refers to the guidelines for social life in Minangkabau. West Sumatra has a diversity of cultures and customs. Mathematics is one of the sciences that is taught at all levels of education, from basic education to tertiary institutions as mandated by the curriculum. Therefore, mastering mathematics is important. The OECD from PISA makes mathematics a focused subject. In this program, students must apply and practice their physical skills to real-life math literacy skills. The results of the international assessment and ranking of mathematics show that Indonesia still has a lower ranking than other countries. To improve students' numeracy literacy skills, interesting learning is needed and can add insight into the culture that surrounds students. For this reason, this research is a descriptive study that reveals culture in West Sumatra which was studied with West Sumatran humanists and explores supporting theories to improve numerical mathematical literacy skills in learning mathematics. The results are useful for starting Research & Development in the form of instruments or media for learning mathematics to improve students' numerical literacy.

Abstract

Students need to engage in analytical and logical thought processes, as well as the construction of mathematical knowledge and ideas, to solve problems. What these students are doing is an example of intuitive cognition. From what we can tell, many students, especially those taking Integral Calculus, do not fully use their mental capacities when attempting to solve issues. This research aimed to identify the extent to which intuition is used to solve problems encountered in the study of Integral Calculus. The method of this research was a descriptive qualitative method. A total of 43 participants from the FMIPA UNIMUS Mathematics Education Study Program participated in the study. The study's findings were that the problems persisted regardless of whether the children were high, middle, or poor achievers. The instruments used in this study are the evaluation questions, the intuition surveys, and the interviewing procedures for both the problem solver and the intuitive. They used evaluation tests, observations, and in-depth interviews to triangulate their results. Data analysis entails three stages: data reduction, display, and verification. Affirmatory intuition was most common among students with high problem-solving abilities. In contrast, those with average skills utilized a mix of Affirmatory and Anticipatory intuition. On the other hand, students with limited talents relied on Anticipatory intuition rather than actual intuition. The findings suggest that when presented with a problem, pupils' first instincts are not universal. It indicates that further investigation would develop pupils' innate ability to solve problems creatively.

Abstract

Catholic Religious Education (PAK) is one of the compulsory subjects taught at non-religious-based Universities. The PAK Lectures with two credits in Higher Education have only reached the accountability of students' faith in church life. This study integrates the Evangelii Gaudium (EG) Education (joy in faith) with the existing concept material. Further, it aims to explore the root cause of the low achievement of dedication to the realization of the community and produce recommendations to achieve trust in the Church and society. This research was carried out with a qualitative approach. The scope of the study is universities in the city of Semarang. The research subjects are key stakeholders, including representatives from the Church or pastors, university students, lecturers, and students. Data retrieval used was triangulation, observations in the Higher Education environment, in-depth interviews with key respondents, and documentation supporting the curriculum. The triangulated data are organized and reduced before concluding. The study results indicate that the Church is satisfied with strengthening faith around the Catholic Church. In fact, in this life, it should be able to penetrate all people in society, including those with different beliefs. Therefore, the practice of faith in the field involving the wider community is deficient.
