Abstract

This study aims to design a point-based skincare packaging recycling model using the Design Thinking approach to address the persistent intention–action gap in consumer recycling behavior. The research also explores how circular business practices can be integrated into educational management, particularly in sustainability education and green campus initiatives. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining a survey of 60 consumers with semi-structured interviews involving local skincare SMEs. The Theory of Planned Behavior and circular economy principles were used to analyze the roles of awareness, perceived ease, incentives, and behavioral intention. Results indicate that although environmental awareness is high (≈95%), actual recycling participation is low (16%). Accessibility barriers and insufficient incentives emerged as the strongest predictors of participation intention. Through iterative Design Thinking stages, this study developed the Circular Chain Return & Reward (CCRR) model, which incorporates QR-based tracking, drop-point networks, point rewards, and transparent digital reporting. Simulation findings show that more than 90% of respondents would participate when convenience and tangible rewards are provided. The model offers managerial implications for skincare SMEs and educational institutions by strengthening sustainability management, increasing stakeholder engagement, and supporting curriculum or program development related to environmental responsibility.

Abstract

Education serves as a fundamental pillar in national development, and effective policies play a crucial role in strengthening social, economic, and cultural structures. In Indonesia, various educational policies such as the 12-Year Compulsory Education Program and the School Operational Assistance (BOS) have been introduced to expand access and enhance the quality of learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of educational policy within the management of Indonesia’s education system, assess its influence on educational quality, and identify key challenges that arise during policy implementation. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, drawing on policy reviews, document analysis, and findings from previous empirical studies related to educational policy and management. The results indicate that while national policies have contributed to broader access to education, significant disparities continue to emerge between urban and remote areas, particularly in terms of infrastruct

Abstract

Interfaith education and pluralism have increasingly been recognized as strategic approaches to counter radicalism and extremism in contemporary society. This study aims to analyze the role of interfaith education that respects religious diversity in reducing tendencies toward radicalism. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study explores the implementation of structured interfaith education programs and examines their influence on individuals’ perceptions of other religions. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed thematically within the framework of pluralism theory. The findings reveal that well-designed and sustained interfaith education fosters deeper understanding of religious values, promotes attitudes of tolerance and mutual respect, and significantly reduces the inclination to adopt radical ideologies. These programs also contribute to strengthening social cohesion and intercultural dialogue. The study implies that interfaith education plays a crucial role in educational and social management as a preventive and deradicalization strategy, offering a transformative perspective on the role of religion in addressing contemporary social challenges and promoting peaceful coexistence in plural societies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of students’ disciplinary and courteous character at SMA Negeri 1 Jogorogo through consistent habituation practices supported by a structured supervision system. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included on-duty teachers, homeroom teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, pre-service teacher interns, and students. The findings reveal that daily habituation activities—such as morning greetings, punctual attendance, uniform and grooming checks, morning literacy sessions, collective prayers, and school assemblies—play a significant role in shaping students’ character. Teacher role modeling emerges as a key factor influencing students’ behavioral development, while the school’s disciplinary system, implemented collaboratively by on-duty teachers, the Student Discipline Enforcement Team (TPDS), and counseling teachers, further reinforces positive habits. Interview results indicate that students perceive these routines as beneficial in fostering responsibility, time management skills, and polite interpersonal communication. The involvement of pre-service teacher interns also strengthens the character-building process due to their communicative and relatable approach. Overall, the study concludes that character formation at the school is effective, supported by strong collaboration among teachers, students, pre-service interns, and institutional commitment. The findings imply

Abstract

This study aims to analyze a local wisdom–based educational management model at SDN 96/X Rantau Indah and its effectiveness in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and knowledge construction. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using interactive techniques involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of local cultural values is implemented through three main pillars: curricular integration, co-curricular activities, and school culture, which collectively foster meaningful and contextually relevant learning practices. Local wisdom serves as cognitive scaffolding, enabling students to actively construct knowledge by connecting academic concepts with cultural experiences. Teachers’ roles transform into facilitators and cultural mediators linking the national curriculum with local values, while collaborative social interactions reinforce knowledge construction. The model is effective in improving students’ motivation and academic understanding. However, challenges include uneven teacher competencies, limited time to align national and local curricula, and sustainability of community involvement. Strengthening educational management, teacher professional development, and formal partnerships between schools and local communities are essential to sustain local wisdom integration.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a community-based digital innovation to enhance university students' participation in sports activities. Despite the widespread use of digital technology, students often struggle with limited information, coordination issues, and a lack of collaborative platforms. Using the design thinking approach, the research focuses on the development of the "CampusPlay" application. The study follows the four stages of design thinking: empathize, define, ideate, and prototype, excluding the testing phase. The findings suggest that students require a digital platform to help find sports partners, manage schedules, and implement a deposit-based payment system to improve commitment. The CampusPlay wireframe incorporates key features, such as "Find Partner" and "Create Match," promoting social collaboration and efficient management of campus sports activities. The design thinking methodology proves effective in creating user-centered, community-driven digital solutions that foster social sustainability within the university context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of the National Science Olympiad (OSN) extracurricular program in improving students’ academic achievement at SMAN 1 Jogorogo. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the school principal, OSN program coordinator, OSN coaches, and participating students. The findings reveal that the management of the OSN extracurricular program is implemented systematically through the stages of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. The transformation of OSN into a continuous extracurricular activity provides wider opportunities for students to receive long-term and structured coaching, which enhances their academic preparedness. Regular and intensive training strengthens students’ analytical skills, self-regulation, and achievement motivation. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including unequal student interest across subject areas, limited facilities, and increasingly intense competition from other schools. Overall, the study concludes that effective management of the OSN extracurricular program contributes significantly to improving students’ academic achievement and offers a relevant model for the development of competition-based extracurricular programs in secondary schools

Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual model of organizational dynamics for environmentally oriented Islamic educational institutions grounded in Islamic ecotheology. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), publications from 2010 to 2025 were examined across major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis, SAGE, DOAJ, SINTA, GARUDA, and Moraref. The review followed the PRISMA 2020 framework and resulted in the inclusion of 32 eligible articles. The findings reveal that ecological transformation within Islamic educational institutions relies on the coherence of four interrelated elements: the internalization of ecotheological values within institutional vision and strategy, prophetic-transformational leadership that drives organizational change, structural and policy frameworks that institutionalize sustainability principles, and a participatory organizational culture that cultivates an ecological habitus among institutional members. These elements interact dynamically to shape sustainable institutional practices. The proposed conceptual model contributes theoretically to the discourse on sustainable Islamic educational management and provides practical guidance for pesantren, madrasahs, and Islamic higher education institutions in their transition toward becoming Islamic Green Institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of madrasah principal leadership and teacher supervision in shaping instructional quality at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) NU 2 Maron. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research utilizes empirical data collected through semi-structured interviews with the madrasah principal, supervisory staff, and teachers, complemented by classroom observations and analysis of institutional documents. Data were analyzed using systematic triangulation to ensure credibility and analytical consistency. The findings reveal that the principal’s leadership extends beyond administrative functions toward an instructional orientation characterized by strategic decision-making, clear academic direction, and continuous support for teachers’ professional development. Teacher supervision is implemented as a formative and reflective process rather than a procedural requirement, emphasizing dialogic feedback, reflective practices, and structured follow-up actions that directly influence classroom instruction. These practices result in measurable improvements in teaching strategies, classroom management, and teacher accountability. The study further indicates that strong alignment between leadership vision and supervision practices is crucial for sustaining instructional improvement. The findings imply that leadership development programs for madrasah principals should prioritize instructional leadership competencies and context-sensitive supervision models to enhance learning quality and foster a responsive educational environment that meets students’ academic and developmental needs

Abstract

This study aims to develop an integrated digital curriculum model for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah that harmonizes technological innovation with Islamic values and local wisdom through a participatory management approach. A descriptive qualitative research design was employed, involving in-depth interviews with school leaders, teachers, and community representatives, supported by participatory observation and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility ensured through source and methodological triangulation. The findings reveal five key outcomes: (1) digital learning practices are systematically integrated with Islamic values; (2) local wisdom is sustained through the incorporation of religious and communal traditions into digital learning content; (3) teachers play a strategic mediating role between curriculum policy, digital pedagogy, and students’ cultural contexts; (4) community collaboration strengthens the sustainability of value-based digital learning; and (5) participatory management is manifested through the active involvement of all madrasah stakeholders. The study implies that effective digital curriculum design in Islamic primary education requires managerial integration of technology, religious values, local culture, and community participation to ensure adaptive, innovative, and culturally responsive educational practices.
