Abstract

Creating students with strong character requires a conducive, comfortable, and dynamic learning environment supported by the consistent enforcement of school rules through disciplinary practices. Although the role of school counselors in enhancing student discipline at SMPN 22 Jambi City has been implemented, it has not yet reached its full potential. This study aims to describe students’ perceptions of the role of school counselors in improving student discipline at SMPN 22 Jambi City, viewed from three aspects: stimulus reception, understanding, and evaluation. The research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected from 224 students of SMPN 22 Jambi City who were selected as research participants. The data were obtained through a questionnaire based on a Likert scale and analyzed using percentage calculations. The findings indicate that, in general, students’ perceptions of the role of school counselors in enhancing student discipline fall within the good category, with an overall percentage score of 82%. Based on the research indicators, the percentage scores for stimulus reception, understanding, and evaluation were 80%, 82%, and 82%, respectively, all of which are categorized as good. These findings suggest that students positively perceive the contribution of school counselors in fostering discipline, particularly through guidance, support, and counseling services that encourage compliance with school regulations and the development of responsible behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of fast and effective reading skills through the application of skimming and scanning strategies. Fast and effective reading skills are important literacy competencies needed by students in facing the rapid development of information in the digital era. However, students’ reading abilities are still relatively low due to linear reading habits and the lack of appropriate reading strategies. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with students selected purposively as the research subjects. Data collection techniques included reading tests, reading comprehension tests, and observations. The data were analyzed descriptively to determine the relationship between reading speed and reading comprehension levels. The results showed that skimming and scanning strategies were able to improve students’ reading skills in terms of both speed and comprehension. The skimming technique helped students identify main ideas quickly, while scanning enabled them to find specific information effectively. In addition, the implementation of these strategies also supported the improvement of students’ concentration, accuracy, and critical thinking skills. Nevertheless, the implementation of these strategies still faces several obstacles, such as teachers’ limited understanding of speed-reading techniques, limited learning media, and students’ lack of vocabulary mastery. Therefore, a more structured and continuous implementation is needed so that skimming and scanning strategies can be optimized in reading instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth how Generation Z in Indonesia balances personal finances amid fandom-related spending facilitated by personal shopper (jastip) services for merchandise purchases. Employing a phenomenological approach, the study conducted in-depth interviews with eight informants aged 18 to 26 years who were active members of K-Pop fan communities and regular users of personal shopper services. The findings reveal three major themes: (1) the rationalization of fandom expenditures as an investment in personal identity, (2) adaptive financial management strategies developed independently by fans, and (3) the influence of community-driven social pressure on impulsive purchasing decisions through personal shopper services. The results indicate that participants developed informal mental accounting systems to separate fandom-related expenses from primary living needs. However, these self-imposed financial boundaries were frequently challenged when exclusive merchandise pre-orders became available. The study highlights the complex interaction between personal identity, consumer behavior, and financial decision-making among Generation Z fans. Furthermore, it demonstrates how fandom participation shapes financial priorities while simultaneously encouraging the development of adaptive budgeting strategies. This research contributes to the growing literature on Generation Z financial behavior and opens further discussion regarding the need for financial literacy programs that are contextualized to contemporary fandom lifestyles and digital consumer culture.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effects of digital marketing, product quality, and perceived value on consumers' purchase intention toward Skintific skincare products, as well as to identify the most dominant factor influencing purchase intention. The study employed a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of individuals aged 17 years and above who were familiar with Skintific skincare products, had been exposed to Skintific digital marketing activities (live streaming or digital content), and resided in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). A total of 170 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that digital marketing, product quality, and perceived value simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention toward Skintific skincare products. Partially, each variable digital marketing, product quality, and perceived value also exerts a positive and significant influence on purchase intention. Furthermore, perceived value was identified as the most dominant factor affecting consumers’ purchase intention. These findings support consumer behavior theory, which suggests that digital marketing, product quality, and perceived value are important determinants of purchase intention. Digital marketing and product quality represent elements of the marketing mix, whereas perceived value reflects a psychological factor influencing consumer purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the principles of leadership from the perspective of Fiqh Siyasah and to examine their relevance to strengthening the constitutional system in Indonesia. Following the massive leadership transition after the 2024 General Election, Indonesia has faced major challenges related to the integrity of governmental governance, as reflected in the stagnation of the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) score at 34. This study employed a normative juridical legal research method with a philosophical approach to analyze secondary data derived from primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The findings reveal that Fiqh Siyasah Dusturiyah conceptualizes leadership not merely as political power, but also as a theological and sociological mandate aimed at safeguarding religious values and managing public welfare. The classical criteria of Islamic leadership Amanah (trustworthiness), Shiddiq (truthfulness), and Fathanah (wisdom/intelligence) directly intersect with the demands of modern bureaucracy, such as accountability, transparency, and the merit system. Furthermore, within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), Fiqh Siyasah regards Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as legitimate national agreements (al-mitsaq al-wathani). The integration of Islamic political values is not realized through the formalization of a particular state form, but rather through the functional absorption of substantial ethical values into constitutional practices and public policies. In this way, it contributes to reducing the ideological dichotomy between religion and nationalism in order to create a more inclusive system of governance.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) carries a sacred mission to develop students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects in a balanced manner. However, in practice, learning evaluation in PAI remains dominated by test-based assessments that primarily measure the cognitive domain. This study is grounded in the increasing urgency to understand how the imbalance of evaluation instruments hinders the internalization of comprehensive Islamic character values (kaffah). This article aims to analyze the theological-pedagogical urgency, implementation mechanisms, and sociological-technical challenges of integrating test and non-test assessments in PAI in order to achieve holistic evaluation and sustainable learning. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by adapting the PRISMA protocol to literature published between 2023 and 2025. Data were reduced and synthesized from various reputable journals. Of the 58 initial articles identified through scientific databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, and Scopus, 15 final articles met the strict inclusion criteria for analysis. The findings indicate that the integration of test instruments (written and oral examinations) and non-test instruments (observation, self-assessment, and worship portfolios) simultaneously is capable of capturing both students’ theoretical and practical piety. This evaluation arrangement contributes directly to the long-term internalization of Islamic values. Although challenges remain, including teacher subjectivity, the halo effect, and administrative burdens, the digitalization of assessment instruments through application-based systems and the development of measurable and observable behavioral rubrics have emerged as strategic solutions to ensure evaluation objectivity in the modern era.

Abstract

The development of social media has made TikTok not only a platform for entertainment but also a source of information for students. The ease of accessing information through short videos on TikTok allows news to spread rapidly, including information that is not necessarily accurate, making critical reading skills essential for students. This study aims to describe students’ critical reading abilities toward news on TikTok social media, including the ability to identify main ideas, distinguish facts from opinions, evaluate source credibility, and recognize hoax and clickbait news. This research employed a descriptive quantitative method involving 41 students from various universities in Indonesia as respondents. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, consisting of Likert-scale statements, multiple-choice questions, and short essay questions, and were analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results showed that the intensity of TikTok use among students is very high, and most respondents frequently obtain information through the platform. However, the majority of students demonstrated fairly good critical reading skills, such as checking news sources, comparing information with other media, recognizing clickbait characteristics, and being more careful before sharing news. Factors influencing students’ critical reading abilities include digital literacy levels, information verification habits, experiences with hoax news, and the influence of sensational headlines. Therefore, critical reading skills play an important role in helping students filter and understand digital information more wisely and rationally in the social media era.

Abstract

This study develops a contextual parenting guide for children aged 0–4 years in the digital era. The development of a high-quality future generation largely depends on the quality of parental caregiving. However, formal education programs that prepare individuals for effective parenting remain limited. Society often focuses on fulfilling basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, while delegating academic education to schools and spiritual development to religious institutions. In reality, children's physical and mental well-being can only be ensured by adults who also maintain good physical and mental health, as well-being is a fundamental component of healthy development. One of the major concerns faced by parents today is protecting children from the negative impacts of digital technology while still enabling them to benefit from its advantages. Rapid social and technological changes require parents to raise children according to contemporary realities rather than relying solely on parenting approaches from previous generations. Family resilience serves as the foundation of national resilience, as the values cultivated within families contribute to the development of an ideal society grounded in national principles and values. In the contemporary context, the most valuable gift parents can provide is not material luxury but a high-quality educational environment at home. Children aged 0–4 years possess exceptional capacities for information processing, making early childhood an optimal period for fostering reading interests, communication skills, and positive developmental habits through guidance and meaningful dialogue. This article discusses practical approaches to addressing digital-era parenting challenges through question-and-answer sessions, applied recommendations, and case studies, including appropriate timing for smartphone introduction, strategies for managing gadget dependency, and the educational utilization of digital technology. The study concludes that there is no single universal parenting method. Successful parenting depends on consistency, an understanding of children's individual characteristics, and a commitment to raising children who are happy, loved, independent, and capable of understanding social norms.

Abstract

This research examines the development of actual issues in Southeast Asia which is now centered on the vulnerability of food security, territorial disputes in the South China Sea, and the challenges of socio-economic integration in the 2026 digital era. The main focus of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of ASEAN diplomacy in mitigating internal and external conflicts that threaten regional stability. By applying qualitative methods through document studies and discourse analysis of the latest policies of member countries, the research results show that although economic growth begins to stabilize, inequality in access to technology and non-traditional security threats such as cyber attacks and transnational crime become serious obstacles. In addition, ASEAN's bargaining position is tested in maintaining neutrality in the midst of increasingly sharp global power polarization. In conclusion, Southeast Asia requires a more assertive leadership paradigm transformation and closer cross-border policy synchronization to ensure the region remains competitive and peaceful in the face of volatile global dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the breadth and depth of Aqidah Akhlak materials in the Merdeka Curriculum at the MTs/MA level based on the structure of learning outcomes in phases D, E, and F. The study employed a qualitative approach using library research. The primary source of data was the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education Number 9941 of 2025 concerning Learning Outcomes for Islamic Religious Education and Arabic Language in Madrasahs, supported by scientific journals, books, and other relevant documents. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis through data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing based on Jean Piaget’s cognitive development theory and the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. The findings indicate that the learning outcomes of Aqidah Akhlak are systematically, progressively, and sustainably designed in accordance with students’ cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual development. Phase D focuses on strengthening moral and spiritual foundations, Phase E emphasizes analytical abilities toward Islamic sources, while Phase F develops critical, reflective, and contextual thinking skills in addressing socio-religious issues. Process skills also develop progressively from observing to analyzing, evaluating, and communicating solutions based on Islamic values. This study confirms that the Merdeka Curriculum in Aqidah Akhlak supports character building, religious moderation, and the development of higher order thinking skills (HOTS), although its implementation still faces challenges related to teachers’ pedagogical competence and madrasah readiness.
